Liokaiser and road Caesar are probably the only ones that wouldn't require a haslab campaign. each component isn't too complex or too big, and the vehicles are all toys kids would like to play with, and some could easily be retooled/repainted into more western known characters if need be. Maybe the engineering for the brain master gimmick on road ceasar could require more funding to pull off, but idk. Landcross on the otherhand...

Fair point, I'd imagine with Legacy Menasor already being a combiner that doesn't need the Scramble City gimmick they could probably do the two without the need for a kickstarter. Maybe I got HasLab on the brain. :lol:

I do wonder if they'll just use the Titan Master gimmick for the Brainmasters to get around actually replicating the old gimmick.

I wouldn't be too sure with the victory combiners, the lack of repaint potential (and unique combining systems) may convince Hasbro that HasLab is the only way forward...unless you want Combiner Wars Leokaiser again.

Dinoking is only being considered at the moment for retail as they knew they could get the Dinobots out of them (and if they're crafty, Monstructor too)

I just realized that this Deathsaurus being scaled to HasLab Victory Saber's height (instead of making him smaller to scale with Star Saber like he did in the cartoon) should make him also scale well with Masterpiece Star Saber.

Yeah, MP Star Saber, HasLab Victory Saber, and HasLab Deathsaurus were all designed by TakaraTomy designer Hisashi Yuki, so Hasbro didn't do this on their own.

Weird that this next TF HASLAB is up even before Star Saber ship, but eh, I'm backing ONE anyway.
One, not two.
Because Pulse charge 30$US of shipping PER UNITS, no matter how much I order. So, eh.

Regardless, I'm confident the thing will unlock all it's tiers.

Usually no, but Hasbro said they are doing new things with this one based on feedback and all tiers are revealed straight off the bat.

I assumed from the somewhat short timespan for people to back this also helps explain the two tiers compared to VS. Gotta make sure there isn't that much of a wait for Saber to get his arch nemesis!

I hope that's the case, I ordered two with that in mind. In the side by side shot (with the block model, not the CAD) he actually looks a little bigger than VS even if you take the thickness of the base into account. I really hope he does scale well with Star Saber, he appears to have an animation aesthetic going on so he should match nicely.

I wonder what the plans are with chrome? MP Star Saber has gold chrome on his chest and I'm pretty sure they're doing gold paint on Star Saber and Victory Leo's chests. I'm fine either way with Deathsaurus, though I suspect they'll stick with silver and gold paint for the lion wings and his alt mode head.

Oh, quick edit. About him only having two stretch goals, that's probably due to them knowing that they wont sell more of these than Victory Saber so they probably see 17,000 as a reasonable upper limit, 20,000 is very unlikely. Maybe they should have done 13,000, 15,000 and 17,000 goals? I'm perfectly fine with fewer goals with more in them. ;)^

Sure, a number of online retailers will have orders for this figure. Like EB Games in Australia, Robot Kingdom in China, ect. Look for the sponsor news that comes out.

Yeah, Deathsaurus will tower over HasLab Star Saber, but should fit pretty well with MP Star Saber.

I am not surprised Deathy is more scaled towards Victory Saber than Star Saber compared to the cartoon, but I feel like it helps in this case - like, it makes Deathy very imposing as he looks down on Star Saber. (Plus y'know the upgrade to Victory Saber helps visually make him able to go toe-to-toe with Deathsaurus.)

This just further highlights how MP Star Saber scales so much better with today's main retail toys than HasLab Star Saber does, since his base Saber form is supposed to be as tall as your typical Autobot Leader height, so Voyager height like Optimus and Rodimus, while his Star Saber form is meant to be closer to Combiner size. All this is best reflected in the MP being as tall as a CW Combiner in Star Saber mode and Voyager height in Saber mode, whereas HasLab Star Saber apparent shrunk in the Blastizone wash.

I'm guessing they wanted the VS mode to be the scale priority, hence Victory Leo's similar shrink in size compared to Star Saber himself! Which...I do find a bit silly. I'm not bothered by it but I can understand it making some people confused.

True! It's also why I don't mind the Siege Megs toy being ever so slightly taller than OP. Just gives that slight boost of military gravitas and suits the hardened gladiator experience for him.
