Wait, is Scrapheap being released in the U.S. this year?
I thought he was slotted for sometime in the first half of ‘24.

He's part of the the first wave of 2024, but it isn't unusual for the first waves of each year to show up at the end of the previous year.

Yeah, it's gone both ways in the last couple years, although recently it seems figures are being released either right on time or even a bit early.
This is only one example, but I thought Bombshell being in wave 4 meant he was was due 4th quarter... So getting him delivered with a week left in September was very surprising.
In my mind, 4th quarter (roughly, on average) of course includes and could mean October, but I wouldn't say it would be wrong or bad if a 4th quarter figure was released early to mid-November.

Not into Junkions, but I guess they're pretty much out of Candidates for the 86 Movie by now.
I'd have much preferred news/reveal on Powerglide so I can finally just wrap up those Minibot remakes.

I would definitely get an updated Seaspray, and Windcharger too.
Powerglide is one I don’t need, along with any of the other remaining minibots.

I’m really anxious to get a look at Swoop. I figure we should see something by December.

I would REALLY love a deluxe Powerglide. Appart the G1 original, the DOTM one and that other Generation were flimsy and fragile. Plus they are damn too small. As for Seaspray, the TR version was nice despite the pizza box, but he'll need a deluxe update.

BTW Cosmos should be reissued in the normal Legacy line. Maybe with some slight differences in deco.
Come see my latest creation, a Galvatron Combiner using 4 SS86 Sweeps as limbs HERE!

Also, an update to my old ALL HELICOPER VICTORION!

I really liked all of the Prime Wars Legends minibots, but the WFC and Legacy deluxes blew them out of the water and created a new standard in size, scale, and design. I do kind of hope that they don't revisit all of the '86 minibots though, because then I could hold on to the Prime Wars versions of those (plus GS Hubcap, pre-PW Swerve, and anyone I'm forgetting.) Hubcap and Pipes as Deluxe outliers shouldn't be too big a deal. If they make them though, I'll probably still get them.

That coloration was inconsistent at best in the original series. It's weird to me how these fan-colored model sheets have become so authoritative, though I do grant that they are legitimately based on the animation.

Because the Design Team doesn't know any better. Look at Circular Reporting on TFWiki.

And I believe that color sheet is official, based on official documents.

You're missing my point, but I was only implying it and I should name it explicit: we don't need retroactive authoritative documentation because the original series and decades of the franchise worked without it, producing variations. That's fine! We don't have to look back at everything that came before, say one thing is on-model, another isn't, and then demand that the merch only matches the on-model one. We can just ... not do that. Velocitron Cosmos appears in the animated series and it's a good-looking figure. It can be "wrong" if you want it to be, but it isn't inherently, no matter what some modern professional looking reenactment claims.

The toy has a blue chest which is accurate to the Marvel comic Universe entry. Unless it was specifically stated by the design team that the toy would be accurate to either the animation model or the original Minibots figure?

The only reason the Velocitron Cosmos toy is colored the way it is, is because Hasbro used the following inaccurate Russian fan-colored model that's easily findable all over the internet:

Image

You can even see the yellow border on the original toy pictured in the image as well, which is missing from the old Russian fan-colored model.

They already said they are done with the reveals for this year. Legacy United wave 2 reveals are set for January, and SS is always after Legacy, so will probably be January or February before the next SS news comes.

Similar feeling/thoughts, at first I was like nah I don't need these updates but once you get the new Warpath and Cosmos you kind of have to or the others look way too small/out of scale. lol
And I agree the DLX versions really do look great and offer far better detailing and articulation!
But I only need the main ones that appeared more, and the ones that feel unique to them. Not "repaints" named something else. I already went down that road with the Datsun and Lambo bro's

Would be a very easy thing to do to paint it more toon accurate as it does appear that even the shade of green used isn't quite right. Based on past redecos like Cliffjumper and Kup with shaded windows I'm thinking Buzzworthy line would be a good avenue, and it would make it technically different from the Walmart version. Consistency in animation aside.

I mean now that I managed to snag one up I'm not as eager for a rerelease/repaint as I once was, but I feel it would definitely be a good thing for anyone else still needing him.

Funny you should mention Cosmos, Warpath and repaints all in the same comments. I firmly believe the next use of both of those molds will be as repaints as Gobots Treads and Pathfinder. I'm actually surprised Treads hasn't happened yet, the Warpath mold is a few years old now witohut a re-use yet.

The previous Legends class Cosmos and Warpath molds never got used as Path Finder and Treds, either.

Nor were the old Universe 2008 Legion-sized Legends class Cosmos and Warpath molds, either.

Right and Hasbro uses the exact same repaint philosopy today that they used back then, right? And is isn't like Hasbro has gone into a Gobot lean in more recent times or anything.

2008 is pretty much ancient and mold reuse back then pretty much has no bearing on mold reuse today, so I won't bother on those.
T30 Cosmos got its re-use as a rerelease (sans Payload) instead of a new character, so that would still clearly be in play. CW Warpath was already the second use of the Legends Megatron mold
(and was a terrible mold for Warpath), so really Cosmos is the only one that is close to a recent comparison.
However we have gotten 3 Gobots repaints since ER with Bug Bite, Road Ranger and Crasher. Bug Bite and Road Renger even used the color scheme from the 2004 collector edition mini-bot 6 pack which also had Pathfinder and Treads.
Pretty much 100% of deluxe molds get at least 1 re-use, with Kingdom Slammer and Warpath being the oldest WFC ones without a re-use yet. The Cosmos and Warpath molds have limited possiblities for reuse, it just makes too much sense for Treads and Pathfinder not to happen.

I think that due to increased costs with newer molds, better deco/detailing (in some instances) as well as more complex engineering process Hasbro likely has to rely on reuse far more than they ever did in order to cost out all new figures. So those very repaints could very well be more likely in today's world.
