Landing Pad One

The sound of heavy footfalls striking the metal floor of the Decepticon outpost heralded the arrival of Scorponok. The Decepticon general quickly made his way out onto the landing pad and towards Megatron’s position. His giant right claw clanged against his chest as he saluted his supreme commander smartly. “Lord Megatron, your visit is unexpected but no less of an honor. I assume you are here to review our progress in this newly acquired territory?”

“You can give me a full report as we travel to Polyhex. Recent events are forcing a change in strategy, a change that I wish to discuss with my High commanders. Thunderwing will take command of the Heights while we meet with Shockwave. I have already consulted with him and am taking his opinions into consideration.” He nodded at the aristocratic Decepticon. He wanted to make sure the Decepticon knew he was valued even if he wasn’t quite in the uppermost echelon of Decepticons.

He turned back to Scorponok. “I will also require Motormaster and his group. I believe they will be well suited to a mission I have in mind. Clench and his group should more than make up for their absence here.” With that Megatron re-entered his shuttle.

Scorponok was a bit taken off guard by the sudden change in orders but his expression remained neutral. “As you wish Megatron.” The Decepticon paused a moment while Fasttrack walked onto the landing pad, a portable console in his hands. Scorponok took the device from him and handed it to Thunderwing as the small drone took his place in a compartment on the giant Decepticon’s leg. “This is a status report and roster list for the Heights. I’m sure you will be more than capable of keeping the situation as it is while I am gone.” He knew the other Decepticon was not up to his own capabilities, but he should do adequately.

The general walked into the shuttle while sending a signal out to Motormaster. >>”Motormaster, gather your men and report to landing pad one. We are leaving with Megatron to Polyhex where a new assignment awaits you.”<<

Deceptibase Tau - Power Facility

As Mixmaster and Hook got to work on the power facilities, Scrapper kneeled down beside one of the moderately intact generators and began to take it apart. It was not an easy task as the extreme heat and flying shrapnel had warped the casing from it's usual shape, but Scrapper was built for strength like all the Constructicons, and soon managed to peel the blackened casing away.

He then noticed Ruckus coming in, and that he seemed to be in a less than optimal state of repair. But when is he ever properly fixed? It's like he has no pain circuitry, and no fear circuitry either.
"The offer of help is appreciated, Ruckus. If you like, you can help Mixmaster pull apart the busted generators and get them in his drum." Mixmaster had an irritating habit of pausing over parts with an unusual chemical makeup and tittering, which cost time. "And as I see it, we didn't have any base here a cycle ago, so a trashed base is better than none." Expecting the warrior corps to worry about what has to be repaired later is just going to make me resentful, even if it would be nice if they did.

Decepticon Outpost - Landing Pad One

"Thank you, Lord Megatron," Thunderwing saluted as the Emperor of Destruction gave him new orders, and command of the newly captured city-state. An intriguing surprise. He had done his utmost to hide his shock at being appointed commander of the Tagan Heights, and appeared quite natural as he took the datapad from Scorponok. But a surprise I am quite pleased to receive.

"I have no doubt matters are already progressing at an exceptional pace," he smiled slightly at the much larger Decepticon warlord. His optics moved to Roadblock. I see no reason to reinvent the transformation cog, so he shall remain second-in-command of the Heights for now. Thunderwing was not entirely comfortable with the foul-mouthed, rough-shod ground forces commander, but he did respect his abilities and the fearsome effect he had upon troop discipline. And this new technology he wields... Thunderwing had been present at Scorponok's experiments, and now, with an actual Pretender under his command, there were distinct possibilities...

Roadblock let a gob of fouled transmission fluid escape his vocalizer at high velocity. The blob spattered against the ground at a respectable - though just barely - distance from Thunderwing. Great. Got the pretty boy in charge here now. He managed a salute, though somewhat less crisply than he would have given Scorponok or, of course, Megatron.

"The Constructicons are already workin' on the rebuildin' process," he told Thunderwing. "I was on my way ta inspect 'em, matter o' fact." He let another gob of fluid fly at the ground. "By yer leave, o' course."

Thunderwing nodded gracefully and graciously. "Of course. Carry on. I will be debriefed regarding progress of the effort at 1100 joors."

The ground forces commander emerged from his Pretender shell, transforming it into wind cruiser mode and jetting off to find Scrapper. Meanwhile, Thunderwing looked back to Megatron.

"I go to assume command of the city-state," he told his Emperor. "You will not be disappointed."

Power Facilities

Scrapper and his boys were not difficult to find, but Roadblock took a more circuitous route than was necessary as he skimmed over the Tagan Heights. Compared to the rest of the planet, the Heights were remarkably intact. Factories and most of the power generation sectors were still functional, and the city-state's infrastructure had been kept up by whatever side happened to possess it at a given time. The one region of the slaggin' planet worth keepin' in one piece, he thought. Rest o' the cities, burn 'em ta the ground. Build 'em again when the pissin' an' moanin's over an' done.

As he touched down, Roadblock leapt from the cockpit of the wind cruiser, landing with a dull thunk. The charcoal-and-brass Decepticon marched up to where Scrapper and the others worked, and announced his presence by dinging a gob of viscous fluid against a protruding piece of steel.

"Progress report," he growled succinctly. See what the brains o' this army are doin'...The J Writer

Deceptibase Tau

Breakdown almost jumped out of his casing. Looking with wild optics in the direction Motormaster had pointed.

“You’re kiddin right? Where is it?”

The Stunticon was more than ready to hide behind his boss even at the risk of being punched. Though by now the paranoid con would have become smart to Motormaster’s mean spirited provoking Breakdown was so paranoid that he continued to fall for it every time.

Silver finally tore her optics from Roadblock as he left to complete his inspection. The silver seeker heard Mindwipe’s voice as he spoke to Clench but paid it no mind as it did not concern her. She was sure Clench would have orders for his team and Thunderwing would be immersed in the taking over command of Tagan Heights. There wasn’t much reason for her to remain in the landing pad.

Quietly she saluted Clench and turned to make her way down the corridor. If Thunderwing or anyone else needed her, which she highly doubted given their attention being focused on Megatron, she was just a transmission away. Living under Thunderwing’s command the argent female had been surrounded by tasteful art and legendary splendor, here the Autobots seemed to have a more subdued yet bright feeling to their base. She knew this would change in the hands of her colleges but at the moment she would be able to see and explore. As she strode down the empty corridor a shiny object caught her attention, bending down she retrieved it from the floor. It was a small metal Autobot insignia, its red paint flashy, shiny almost like her own body. Silverstrike stared at it, and as she did she realized Thunderwing had never been able to brand the Decepticon mark on her unique bimetal bonded “skin”. Her flux always melted it away. It was very doubtful anyone would ever mistake her for an Autobot, she was very much a seeker in shape, yet it was still one more thing to add to her list of reasons why she was never good enough. Opening her subspace storage she put the small object inside and continued down the hall. Only to come to a stop when she realized she had walked outside and into the construction zone where the Constructicons were repairing the generators.

Looking around she saw Shrike, the Constructicons, Ruckus and Roadblock. The reflective femme was not about to interrupt their work and considered turning around to inspect the base more closely.

Decepticon Outpost Tau

Shrike had seen the new craft land at Tau while she underwent repairs. She did not know who was on it so it mattered not at the moment. Maybe there's backup in that ship? One will find out sooner or later. Still she'd hope that if it was backup, it was the flying sort. At the very least, the competent sort. Any more cons like Triggerhappy and she'd consider transferring to another post so they don't shoot her for some reason.
She walks back towards the base with her wrist in one hand as she moves the servos of her other hand.
Her wrist blades retract, and all 4 blades power down.

She felt much better. She looked forward to testing her meddle, and metal against any Autobot she sees.
She almost wished there was a training room here. Next best thing to her combat computer, really, but sometimes one needed the tactile sensation of a hard light simulation, or a training drone.
Her combat computer worked none the less. So many scenarios, so many ways to destroy a target. So many ways to destroy multiple targets.
Multiple targets? Oh yes. Her war born fighting style is not like most martial arts where duels are the way. She is well capable of battling multiple opponents if need be. Ranged, melee, she has tactics versus nearly any group of foes.
Luckily she needn't put that to the test often. As confident as she is, she isn't suicidal.

As she got close to the base she's seen something she's never seen before. Silverstrike, Another Femme Decepticon, obviously. A flyer, too. With unusual armor.
That's about all she could gather.

She salutes as she approaches the mirrored fem. "I am Shrike." She spoke in a simple, calm, crisp tone.
Shrike is a grunt and she figures no one around is below her n rank so she may as well assume people are her rank or better.

Hook watched and listened to Roadblock as he appeared.

'Progress report?' He thought as he continued the repairs. 'This should prove interesting.'

Deceptibase Tau - Power Facilities

Scrapper, by now wrist-deep in the workings of the semi-intact generator, immediately snapped to attention at the arrival of Roadblock. "Ground commander, sir. The Autobots have a mystifying tendency to build their facilities with ease of repair in mind, rather than prevention of damage in the first place. To that end, we expect to have secondary power online in a breem or 2," If Hook's a tenth as good as he says he is, that's far from unreasonable, "enough to power the base and the remaining defenses. Mixmaster and I will also repair as much of the primary power generators as is possible. By that stage, Bonecrusher, Scavenger and Long Haul will have the supplies gathered to repair the curtain wall.
"At that point, I intend to have this group concentrate on repairing the defense turrets while the heavy lifters repair the curtain wall and...other breaches in the defenses". He eyed the hole that Roadblock was currently framed by. "All in all, I expect to have the base restored to 70-80% fighting capacity in the next 12 cycles."

OOC: Up till now I've been assuming Cycles meant days, but according to Cryhavok they correspond to hours. So the repairs are supposed to be done in 12 hours, while Triggerhappy is meant to be in the clink for 5 days
Also, if anyone thinks that rebuilding stuff on this level in such a short time is unusual, I'd point them to the old G1 cartoon: The Constructicons can do a heck of a lot in a very short space of time.

Deceptibase Tau - Landing Pad One

"Lightning Strike Coalition, eh?" Clench replied to the hypnotist, rubbing his chin while speaking. "Our stay here is bound to prove an interesting one if this is true."

While Clench trusted his men, he had grown to be careful. Holding information from him didn't exactly go well for his soldiers, however he had no interest of endangering Mindwipe's source of information. <<"Update me on this source.">>

Deceptibase Tau - Corridors

Motormaster's gloating on Breakdown's paranoia came to a crashing halt when the transmission from Scorponok reached his comm-link. But still a pleasant one. He hated downtime and most of time he wasn't given a mission that would prove uninteresting. Those few times he had been assigned for tasks that clashed with his malicious nature, his superiors had learned its consequences the hard way.

<<"On it, commander Scorponok.">> Motormaster replied to the transmission from his current commanding officer and closed the link. Enstablishing a new link, the Stunticon leader contacted his missing men.

<<"Drag Strip and Wildrider! Report to the landing pad one pronto!">> Motormaster bellowed to his communicator. To make sure there wouldn't be any misinterpritations regarding the importance of the command, he mentioned whom had demanded their presence. <<"Megatron commands!">>

Closing his comm-link, Motormaster gave Breakdown a hard shove towards the direction of the landing pads and transformed.

"We have a new assignment Breakdown! The Slagmaker himself has requested our presence!" He thundered over the roaring of his powerful engine and set off towards the landing pads.

"Alright Scavenger, let's get this done," spoke Long Haul as he stopped just inside the building. Turning to the right; then back up and reversing back towards some supplies.

"Load me up and be gentle, last time someone released a load into me, I had trouble taking the dents out. I tell yeah it's not easy when you have to reach around and bang yourself," said Long Haul unhappy in his current position.Fox-Hound

Scavenger gladly obliged Long Haul, deploying grapplers from just beneath his bucket, and began picking up bags of powdered ferrocrete, and placed them as gently as he could inside Long Hauls spacious dump-box. Quickly, tons of the stuff began to dissappear into the container, made much larger than it appeared by Long Haul's subspace containment. He didn't have Hook's lifting power or precision, but he gave it his best shot.
"Whoof, this stuff is heavy. Don't envy you hauling this stuff about, Long Haul. This could take a WHHHAAA!!!" With a terrific crash, a hole was smashed in the side of the factory, and Bonecrusher drove in, clipping the side of the idle ferrocrete processor and leaving a massive dent in it as he came to a stop and transformed.

"Whaddayou guys doin' hiding from me like that? Dontcha know all the buildings in 'ere look the same? It's like you don't want my help..." He said this as he moved to the pile of blocks and began picking up them up, a dozen at a time, and throwing them into Long Haul's dump-box. Scavenger quickly realised just who Long Haul was probably talking about.

Deceptibase Tau - Corridors

Breakdown gave an indignant “ooof ” as he was shoved down the hall.

“Megatron wants us?”

Was all Breakdown could manage to say as he stumbled ahead of Motormaster, jumping out of the way before he was run down by the more powerful mech. Breakdown quickly transformed and sped down the hall slightly curious as to what this new assignment could be.

Silver regarded shrike with a quizzical look. The battle forged femme seemed confident. As she approached the silver seeker Shrike gave her a salute and stated her name. Silverstrike’s body glimmered in the cybertronian light, as she stepped forward, giving a return to Shrike’s formality. Her Glacier hued optics giving a soft glow as she spoke, her voice light, fitting her frame.

“Shrike, so it is, I am Silverstrike.”

The argent femme could see through the holes in the generator facility housing behind the femme, that the Constructicons were Speaking to Roadblock. The structures maintained by the Autobots were far different from the Decepticon idea of architecture. They still held a residue of the function they were once designed to be, built by once peaceful factory workers. Silver turned her attention back to Shrike.

“I assume the assault took a toll on the generators. The Constructicons look none too pleased.”

With the suprising introduction of Bonecrusher; it didn't give Long Haul enough time to warn the bulldozer before he felt a very rough and slightly painful sensation in his dump box.

" 'Crusher! You slagging Sludge-Rat; I have told you on numerous times and occasions to not, I repeat, NOT, throw the materials into my backside. The materials can get damaged and Hook will be made at me for damaging the materials, and I'll have to spend, I don't know how many vorns in taking the dents out......while having to reach around and looking through a mirror or a camera," hollered Long Haul not too pleased for what the Dozer had just done.Fox-Hound

"Well excuse me, Mr. Tinfoil, I'd forgotten how dainty you were." Bonecrusher begins to place the handfuls of blocks inside Long Haul's dump-box rather than throw, although the process is still far from gentle. "'Wreck the materials', they're fragging blocks, gonna just pour the slag into the wall anyway."

Still hoisting the bags, as delicately as he could as if to make up for Bonecrusher, Scavenger piped up. "You know Bonecrusher, that kind of disregard for your teammates really drags down the team spirit. We all have our roles in this team and each element deserves equal respect."

"Tell it to Hook, lately he's been stealing all my jobs. Well, that's the most of this fender-grease, I'm sure even Scavvie here can handle these last few bags." Lifting the last armful of blocks, Bonecrusher headed to the new door he made. "Let get this over and done with."

Decepticon Outpost Tau

"It is nice to see another femme around. And some aerial support that is not a Sweeps drone." She speaks bluntly to Silver. Her tone professional, her voice pleasant enough.
But it was obvious Silver was an unknown to Shrike as she expected her to fight. SilverStrike does look capable, or at least unique enough to be capable.

She nods to Silver in response to the query of the generators. "Quake any I focused assaults on the generators to drive out the Autobots."
She was instrumental in a lot of the damage with her assault mode.
Though in retrospect maybe it would have been prudent not to blast almost every single one. Or focus on just taking out the threatening turrets. Something to think about next time.

"But," she continues, "the Constructicons command large amounts of trust in the higher ups, and it is justified. I'm certain they will have repairs completed soon."
"I paint my daemons as scars of blood in a barren landscape where all is lost."
