No word on either yet. I'm just speculating on season 3's length since, unlike both Prime (who was striving for 65 all along) and MLP (whose 3rd season production was cut in half to allow them to simultaneously produce the Equestria Girls film), Rescue Bots has little to interfere with it having a full-length 26-episode season, so we can hope for the best. :D

Yeah, I'm just worried they'll decide at some point it's not profitable enough and scrap it for something else. Or cut it down if it start looks like it's going to have more episodes than G1, because how dare anything eclipse G1.

Well, it was originally going to be just a toy-only line with no show, and it's very possible that it's lasted as long as it has thanks to the show's success. Especially with the latest toys being molded to resemble the show's animation models over the original toys' designs. If anything, the show's likely been more helpful to the toy sales than not.

And if it can overtake G1's episode count, by all means, it certainly deserves to. :KREMZEEK:

Tragic? More like heroic. G1 Prime's movie death was tragic. Prime Prime willingly surrendered himself to the Well for the sake of Cybertron (just as he had done when he was one of the Thirteen).

One of the best Optimus deaths ever, especially since things were ever more dire in that series's situation. "Cybertron's Greatest Hero", indeed. 8)

I've been trying to make myself like the concept of RID here, and I just can't seem to do it.

There are things I like about it, like Fix-it. For some reason I like him in the one scene they've shown of him, I thought I'd hate him. I like Strong Arm, simply for the fact that she's not another slender body/high-heels fembot, though the personality seems to grate on me and I think it's because I fear that she might end up being one-dimensional, though I could be wrong. And Bisk. Just Bisk. He's a car that turns into a lobster. A lobster named Bisk. I just can't hate that, even if the character is annoying.

Then I look at everything else, and it's just all kinds of bad to me. More Bumblebee/Cheetor/Hotshot is never a good thing in the cartoons. Though I guess he is now Hasbro's safety line for when they want to reboot something.

Sideswipe, I don't like the "hair" design of his head. I don't see why he needs a katana sword. If they wanted to put Wheeljack in this, they should have just put Wheeljack in it. If they wanted to make Wheeljack into Drift, they should have just put Drift in it. If they wanted to put Drift in it they should BURN!

Does no one want to talk about how this Grimlock is supposed to be the same Grimlock in Fall of Cybertron? Or is that not cannon now? Because last I heard was that WfC/FoC were retconned into prequel games for TF: Prime. If so, then it seems RiD is doing to Grimlock what G1 Season 3 did to Grimlock and lobotomized the awesome out of the character.

The Decepticons, except for Bisk, I really don't like the look of these guys. Where are the animal heads coming from? I guess it makes about as much sense as an alien robot that looks human, but isn't that why they designed them all without noses in TF: Prime? So they wouldn't look so human (and because they'd look weird with the animation style)? If so then this is kinda going the other way by making them look like animals from Earth.

The Humans. Beast Wars was fine without them, some of the best episodes of Prime didn't have them heavily featured in them, why do we still need them? Not much is seen of them, sure, but there haven't really been any good human characters.

The character design. It's like they tried to mash TF:P with Animated and got this crap. If they give us Animated again, I'll be very disappointed.

As for the toys, I think I might want a Strongarm figure when it comes out. And Bisk. If they don't make a Bisk toy then I will be upset.

Bisk.

If they give us the inventiveness of the animated toy line again, I would jump for joy. We already know that isnt happening, but I just wanted to write this after seeing that line, which gives a good sense of where most of your mindset when approaching this series.

How does wielding a katana sudden make someone like Drift? Drift never even had a katana.

Sideswipe's sword isn't even a katana, anyway.

It's been mentioned, and it's a can of worms to try to figure it out now when we've so little info. We're currently at a "wait and see" point at this time.

It's very much just the Prime art style done in cel-shaded CGI rather than pure CGI. Even Prime had hand-painted backgrounds.

Well, Animated did good things in terms of story telling. It's more the constant little things I hated, like the endless G1 references, and the super villain badguys (they had a little girl with a wand for f***'s sake). Just the overly silly little things like that. I don't know why stuff like that worked for me in Beast Wars, but it's like it hit all my "irritate" buttons with Animated.

I dunno, I never liked ninjas in my transformers I guess.

That's kinda why it's an issue with me that I hate this character so much already. Though, how much of a brilliant twist would it be if it turns that this guy just heard of Grimlock and started using his name. Then the REAL Grimlock shows up because he heard that some one was claiming to be him?

True, but it doesn't work for me. I guess to me it's the difference between ROTF Leader Class Optimus, and AoE Leader Class Optimus. You have one, and it's SO good in the way it works, the way it feels, and the way it looks. Then you have the updated version and... it just doesn't deliver.

And the hand-painted background were excellent!

But ninjas use Ninjato. Katana are wielded by samurai.

Point's moot either way since Sideswipe's sword looks to be more of European sword design anyway.

An interview with Jeff Kline (and Steve Blum). He saw the toys, liked the idea of TF line meant for younger fans, and became a fan of creating a show for those younger viewers.

Tragic? More like heroic. G1 Prime's movie death was tragic. Prime Prime willingly surrendered himself to the Well for the sake of Cybertron (just as he had done when he was one of the Thirteen).

Umm..ok,whatever you say.G1 op's death will always deeply shock me.I really wished optimus did not die in beast hunters. He was one of the best optimus designs and character around
Design I give you, but character? Prime Prime was as interesting a person as a brick. One of the most boring and lifeless Optimus character portrayals we've ever had.

Oh, I accidentally typed that.Character,I prefer G1 and Tf4 optimus to this. :BOT:Tfp op's character was like hasbro said "Put a boring personality for him.No one will complain cause he is the autobot leader "

This was my problem with Prime. The characters were so freaking boring. Especially Arcee and Optimus.

I'm hoping they'll change the voice actor for Optimus sometime in the future. Peter Cullen is amazing, no doubting that, but I think we could use somebody who sounds younger and more energetic, like TFA Optimus or BW Primal.

Optimus and Arcee are the only characters in Prime that I will say genuinely sucked. They weren't boring as part of their arc like Ultra Magnus; they were just killjoys since "because." Though one could argue Arcee losing Cliffjumper and Tailgate is a pretty good reason to be a stick-in-the-mud, even when she "got over it" she remained stiffer than a plank. Otherwise, almost every other character was fantastic, and guys like Bulkhead, Smokescreen, Wheeljack, Knock Out, and Starscream really showed the versatility of Prime's tone, proving that even a dark and serious series can be fun to watch.

P.S: I'm convinced that every Optimus Prime is a steaming pile of crap, so nothing surprises me with him anymore. >:oP

Arcee had her moments, such as whenever she'd be sarcastic or a smart aleck ("You're a human, Jack. an you build me a small intestine?") or when her emotional intensity proved to be justified like whenever Airachnid went after her friends or when she thought Megatron had killed Smokescreen. But whenever she'd let her negative emotions overcome the rest of her character, she did come off as being irritable and uncharacteristically rude.

Bulkhead, however, I felt could have been a lot better a character had he been allowed to have fun more. His best moments were whenever he was interacting with Wheeljack or in the entire episode of "Toxicity". For the most part, though, he was just kinda there, like Bumblebee. Neither appealing nor unappealing, just an indifferent character.

But I am very much look forward to Bumblebee in this series, after having seen how capable he was in Predacons Rising, thanks in no small part to Will Friedle's wonderful performance. That guy emanates with an air of natural charisma and awesomeness. Virtually every character he plays has some degree of likability that one cannot help but be drawn towards. It happened with Eric Matthews, with Batman, with Blue Beetle, with Ron Stoppable, with Lion-O, and now it's happening with Bumblebee.

I dont know, I thought she was awesome. She was like that hardened cop who had lost one too many partners on the job and didnt care if she was a bit more reckless. I love how she was the main warrior of the series (along with Bulkhead, though he had more of a comic relief vibe). The first Prime toy I bought was Arcee simply because I liked the character (I even settled for the Beast Hunters version, thats how much I wanted a toy of her)

I had no idea the show wasn't initially planned. Out of curiousity, where'd you find this out?
An interview with Jeff Kline (and Steve Blum). He saw the toys, liked the idea of TF line meant for younger fans, and became a fan of creating a show for those younger viewers.

Thank you, I feel a little more enlightened now.

Not all of them, Knock Out and Wheeljack were fun and I really felt for Predaking.

I don't think Animated Optimus Prime was that bad, and I'm not sure if you're counting Optimus Primal but it was good with him up until Beast Machines.

I'll give those two that they tried, but both of them were just as bland as any other Optimus. Never, in any series of Transformers, have I once cared about Optimus Prime in any way. He was there to be there and that was it. And when they did give him an arc, it was a rehashed storyline or just flat-out done to death with storytelling in general.

You know who had the best attempt at doing Optimus any good? Age of Extinction. And even that was handled like a pot of piss. :BANG_HEAD:

I just have found this sweet fanart with concept of 2015 Starscream:

I really want to see something like this in new series :D

I'm kinda tired of discussion about how Arcee is a terrible character. I really don't care what were they thingking. She is just so static and boring, Bulkhead and Ratchet were funny, dynamic and interesting characters. While there is room for them in new series, I just can't imagine Arcee with new role. I think there was enough said about her.

Ugh, I just reread that last sentence. This guy's gonna continue that annoying trend of having a bunch of modes and never having a toy that has alll of them, probably because it's physically impossible to, isn't he? Heatwave I'll forgive because of the limits of Rescue Bots toys and because I like him, and I probably wouldn't have been thrilled with AoE Drift anyways, but dammit, Fixit, you've had like three chances to make a first impression with me and they've all gone downhill faster than Calvin's wagon.
