What if the TFs can't fly? In G1 they all could fly, trucks, cars, and all, and they needed a space ship. IMO, I think on Cybertron, if they where carrying a heavy load or somthing they would possibly use other vehicles, if their vehicle mode isn't big enough.

You just quoted the bit I was referring to and not my reply which stated it's not Shockwave, because as we both mentioned we have seen his head already on a stick.

That Shockwave-looking head we saw during filming could really be anyone. This could be anyone too, including Shockwave. (I'm not saying I want him to be, I'm on board with Sentinel.)

99% that's Shockwave on that stick, but who knows?

Pretty boring teaser actually, other than the ending shot of some bot. I liked how the ship looks like Megatrons crashed ship on Beast Wars.
But yea, It looks alright I guess... nothing amazing to me so far. Ugh, i'm just so sick of the over use of jagged objects everywhere, it makes everything come off as being flimsy and generic. Nothing stands out except for the occasional circles (I really watched it over and scrutinized every few frames). But I remain optimistic it will be the best of them all.... hopefully.

I was more referring to them needing vehicles to space travel. Which they seem to not need since they can "meteor" from somewhere in space to earth.

Also, am I the only one hoping that the spaceship is really part of the moon and it's one big Beast Wars deathray?

Its quite patchy canon wise in G1 as well. In MTMTE Pt 2, when the Autobots get to Sherman Dam, the Autobots split up. Hound goes underwater to stop Rumble from making the tidal waves. Ironhide goes to vehicle mode, lowers his back revealing a cannon, and Bumblebee mans it and they make a new path for the water preventing it from flooding the nearby houses.

The rest of the Autobots, under Prime's orders, fly up and hover over a landing at the Sherman Dam facility and fire upon the Decepticons. This was the second situation of the Autobots flying. The first was them coming to the oil rig in MTMTE Pt 1 facing off against the Decepticons for their first skirmish on Earth. IN MTMTE Pt 3, Prime uses Sideswipe's jet pack to fly up and try and bring down the Decepticon cruiser (though Mirage ultimately succeeded in doing so). After that, I recall no instances except one of Autobots flying that didn't have aerial based alt modes. The Dinobots did it twice in Season 1 if I recall correctly, and then again in Dinobot Island with the four land based DBs following Swoop, who's following Powerglide (though in that episode, Bumblebee and Powerglide discover the island, only cause Bumblebee's jet pack was damaged by a pteranodon and he's forced to make a landing).

The rest of the time, the only Autobots who could fly were ones with aerial based alternate modes. And in "The Return of Optimus Prime", Galvatron states that Autobots cannot fly indicating that it was a solely Decepticon ability.

Guys, that gold robot doesnt look anything like Optimus. They're completly different.
But have you considered that that gold robot ccould very well be Rodimus Prime? In the Bayverse anything could happen.

After re-reading 12 pages of posts and viewing the trailer 4 times, the only thing that I can say with any degree of certainty is that somewhere, somehow there is a bot with a mustache that crash landed on the Dark side of Chicago and is running around with a stick up his arse terrorizing Sentinel Trion. Does that sound about right?

Michael Bay's whole Transformers trilogy has been a stick up the arse... REBOOT THIS MOVIE FRANCHISE HUMAN FREE!!!

My first thought was Alpha Trion just because of the beard. We'll have to wait and see though.

Nah, I was talking about one of the first 3-4 G1 episodes. There's a scene where Ironhide flips out and flies off after the Decepticons. Skywarp asks for permission to teleport, then does, and shoots him down from behind. I gotta go watch those now to find it...

My first impression was Alpha Trion, not Sentinal Prime. Going by movie continuity, Optimus Prime is the last of the Prime's. Who ever it is, I quite like the designs of that bot.

That's the exact thought that went through my head!

I thought the trailer was interesting - some of the dead bots looked Decepticon, while others appeared to be Autobot - including the "Alpha Trion Wreckgar Sentinal Prime Shockwave Unicron" bot. I figured that last one to be Autobot just because his eyes were blue and he didn't have the sharp features the Decepticons sport in the Bayvers. Maybe the wrecked ship is supposed to be a battle site since there's a hull breach and a variety of different bots scattered around? Am I stating the obvious again...
