Then I remembered that the LEM had to split in half (the gold half being left behind) in order to leave the moon and reunite with the CSM, and then that half would have been left behind in orbit to crash back into the moon.
Life would suck for that guy, huh?DavidT wrote:budmaloney wrote:But what does it mean that this guy is waking up? Usually in trailers like this, it's a foreshadowing, he's evil, he wakes up. But this guy is good (sort of). What would him waking up mean? That he is a messenger warning us of the impending doom ? (Unircon for example). Why would they tease us about someone waking up who will end up being good and friendly. It's definitely not the discovery by the human race. Because by now, I think the human race already knows.
The trailer takes place in the 60's... The human race doesn't know yet

Actually, not they didn't. Archibald Witwicky stumbled across Megatron in 1898. The founding members of S7 didn't start the organization until 1913. It was a considerable amount of time after that (time frame varies depending on whether you go by the Movie or the prequel novel) before Megs was transported to the Hoover Dam facility.
As far as this orange guy waking up and the whole menacing "portent of doom"...all that means is that Bay's done his job. He and his crew have engineered a series of clips in such a way that every fanboy has been totally sucked in and worked into a frenzy. The actual clips, once shown in context with the rest of the movie in it's entirety, will mean exactly jack-diddly-squat in the grand scheme of things. Just like the Mars Rover clip from the first movie. Made to look all important in the previews but in the end it was nothing more than a 15 second snippet on Banachecks laptop for the Sec. of Def. to view. Not exactly a climactic plot point, was it? But hey, it sure as hell sucked in the Trans-Fans attention when it first came out. I have no intentions of letting my imagination linger any further on what the bot in the clip is because I have better things to do than let Mikey Bay and his crew mind-**** me for even one second. I would advise everyone else to take a similar approach. You all will be a lot happier in the long run. I've seen how a lot of you fans handle disappointment and all I can say is, damn, it ain't pretty!

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

LMAO...ridiculous assumption.
Why is everyone coming up with such silly guesses?? I mean, c'mon guys...LOOK AT HIM. I think it's pretty damn obvious that he's a Prime! And Cascadia's post with the Prime Cybertronian symbol pretty much confirms that anyway...
So no Wreck-Gar, no Scourge, no Kup, no Prowl...and certainly no damn Unicron (that's just plain stupid, pointless and too much wishful thinking, sorry!).
A few of you mentioned that Optimus was the last of the Primes...but:
A: What if it was only BELIEVED that Optimus was the last? Maybe there's a whole new story behind this orange Prime's existence which will be unravelled in the movie...
B: T-Macksimus made a good point in his last post, where he says that this specific short orange Prime scene probably means JACK-ALL and probably won't even play a major roll in the movie...just like the Mars Rover clip in the first Transformers 1 teaser.
See, this is exactly what Michael Bay WANTS us to do - speculate, discuss and hype ourselves and eachother up until the movies actual release. It's a genius marketing and promotion strategy that most definitely works, by the looks of it...looool...
Let's not get too worked up over this anymore...but i'm still 200% sure that it's a Prime...and almost 99% sure that it's Sentinel Prime. There are just too many reasons and similarities that support it, which make it obvious, if you ask me..

And you don't seem open to the notion that this particular robot is offline. To Optimus and Co. he may be PRESUMED dead because he disappeared, contact lost when he crashed on the moon.
Not only that, this is the entertainment industry, dead doesn't always = permanent. Optimus was dead after all ...
