That's the part that's got me excited. Looks like Takara had the same thoughts on Leader Megatron's scaling that we have had. He'll go with my MP display, while United Voyager Megatron will remain with my Classics display.

Not sure if anyone's pointed this out yet, but the production sample used in Megatron's stock photos has two right hands. You can see the hollowness on the left hand's underside and the thumb and fingers are inverted.

Is it just me, or do some of the new Combiner War figures look very generic in terms of their robot mode proportions?

Megatron, Bombshell, and Powerglide all seem to have very human look proportions without some of the interesting flare that comes from being a fictional robotic character. Bombshell's shoulders used to be above his head, now they are about where they would be on a human, Powerglide has always had a long cone head, now he has more of a nub. Megatron had the broad chest and skinny waist. Now he just looks bland.

Am I the only fan who thinks this?

Ok, firstly it's great to see the cannon is reversible, as I thought it would be. Secondly, Takara clearly know how to take a better promo shot, he looks a lot better like that. Also, looks shinier too.

The downside (for me, anyway) is that he's completely out of scale to what I'd like. Measuring him up to MP Prime makes me think that he's going to look way to big to stand with my Classics Prime. Megatron should be bigger than Prime, IMO, but not that much bigger. He might not look so bad against TW Orion, but I don't have him so I can't comment.

Sure, I'd pose him with my MP Prime, but it's just not going to work for me. As much as I've always hated Megatron as a gun (even as a little kid I thought it was a terrible alt mode), I would rather Megatron be a gun if he was going to represent the MP line. MP is basically an homage to G1, and a tank Megs next to a classic looking, G1 inspired Convoy Prime just doesn't sit right with me. Not to mention that this Leader Megs is going to look cheaper. He's not going to be as high quality as the MP line and would therefore suit being displayed with other CHUG figures, rather than MP. Also, he's slightly smaller being that he's a Leader class, so scale is a little off again.

I applaud HasTak for their effort. Visually he's a great representation of Megatron, but I just think he's too tall for CHUG and won't fit the MP aesthetic. Should've been a Voyager, but who knows, maybe he'll look okay when paired up with CW Prime.

I am thinking of having Optimus bend his knees in a dynamic pose against a much more stoic Megs standing tall. They should match up that way.

I would be so amazingly happy if we could get a scaled down Voyager version of MP-10 and a similarly Voyager-scaled Combiner Wars Megatron. I know it'll probably never happen, but I will continue to dream.

Comparing the image and it loojs like the one in the takara photos has an alternate head sculpt. Takara version looks like the G1 toy. Hasbro looks like IDW megatron.

Mine does too. From what I've been able to gather from around the net there's a 50/50 split on legs staying together or splitting. I think it has to do with the tabs on the inside being a little too thick for the slot.

I'm not really seeing a different head sculpt with the Takara version. In fact, I don't really see any paint app differences either. Megatron looks shinier, but until we see some in-hand samples, we won't know if that's a matter of different materials/paints used or just Photoshop magic.

Yeah, I can't see any differences unless Takara's Megatron is a darker silver.

It's the Alternators head.

Though, the guy said the head prevents the toy from transforming, so he had to make it removable.

I wouldn't mind Takara taking a stab at remolding CW Optimus' head. It's just way too small. Though, I don't know how much they can do about the actual size, given the engineering of the toy. They would have to remold that whole panel on top to be wider. Still, they worked a miracle with AoE Leader Prime.

Takara Tomy Transformers Combiner Wars Also Arriving in 2015

It looks like Takara Tomy Transformers is also joining in the combining action, as fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath reports from designer TFYuki's Twitter account. The teaser image posted seems to show off a silhouetted Generations Combiner Wars Superion with Japanese characters inscribed in the limbs, the tagline Unite and 2015 - according to Yuki, more information will be available at the end of January in the Dengeki Hobby magazine!
