It's not a question of popularity. The point was the origins of his design were as legally problematic, as the Deluxe Insecticons. The legalities can be overcome in the same way.

HasTak barely does anything with the standard Insecticon trio anymore. If there were seven of them. They might be more inclined to raise their profile once more. Pairing them off against a rival team IE The Dinobots ala the High Moon games.

You okay with paying higher prices on them then their size suggests ;)

 Absolutely not.

The name is a distinction, not a descriptive. If the redesigned Venom, Barrage et al were the same size as Bombshell, Shrapnel and Kickback. I doubt anyone would notice or take umbrage with it.

Not bad. Smaller and simpler than a voyager should be, but the transformation is faithful to the original. Could have had the wingsword, though, instead of a cheap imitation.

There hasn't really been a need for any, what with Thrilling 30 Skrapnel, Combiner Wars Bombshell, Titans Return Kickback, and the re-release of Skrapnel in Power of the Primes having already completed the trio. Siege, Earthrise, and Kingdom would have been too soon to redo the trio all over again.

Their legal team forbids them from using the verb transform, so they use convert.

More specifically they fear that if they use the word transform too casually as a common word it'll jeopardize their ability to trademark "Transformers" as you can't (normally) trademark common words. Original packaging in the 80s did say "transforms", but they've long since replaced that with "converts".

I’m going to disagree with this… Partly my own opinion; for one there are never enough Decepticons.
Second, these guys deserve more than legends scale releases.
On top of that, there has been a thirst for these 3 main characters…
I don’t remember or care which company it was, but the 3P set, while really nice looking, was hella expensive, and those sold beyond well. I believe there have been variants made from the initial figures, and more to the point, multiple production runs.

Again, mainly my opinion, but Shrapnel, Bombshell and Kickback have been overdue for good mainline, deluxe-scaled figures for a long, long, long time…
I got so impatient after Classics ended that I jumped at chances to get the ToysRUs G1 reissued set, and the FansProject releases.

I got curious and checked to see when Hasbro started to say "converts" on packaging and it was all the way back in 1990 with Action Masters. It could be because the vehicles and weapons weren't Transformers themselves (Micromasters that same year still said "transforms"), but either way, that's where the change was first used. Euro figures would still say "transforms" in '91 and '92, but in '93 all G2 figures said "converts". Interestingly, Kenner did things their own way with Beast Wars using "turns" or "becomes" to avoid "transforms", except when describing Transmetal third modes, that's a "conversion".

They can still say transform in media as a verb, no problem. But on packaging, and cards and such, they haven't used that term in 30 years.

Fully agreed with Sabr here. Given the large TF history available to us, PotP (2018) to Legacy (2022) is hardly what I would call an empty period for Insecticons.

I think Prime Wars and WFC have kinda spoiled G1 fans, given many characters have now had multiple toys throughout those 2 trilogies, and it is now expected that your 1984-1986 guys get another new toy every couple years. That's a bit much, especially since Legacy finally put the "s" back in "generations" and is showing just how starved many other series have been.

I am glad the insecticons are all appearing to be getting their due, I am, but once they are done in Legacy, I think they, like the rest of the pre-season 3 and beyond, should take a well deserved decade of rest.

Takara Tomy Adds More Stock Photos for Upcoming Legacy Figures

Hot off the PulseCon announcements last week we've got a new batch of stock photos direct from Takara Tomy's next round of pre-orders. While there's no real revelations here we do get a better idea of Hot Shot's knee articulation and Leo Prime's colors are a little darker under the less harsh studio lights. And we get a good look at Menasor in all his completed glory! Take a look at the phots and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub forums!

Looks like Hot Shot's knee articulation is something you'll have to get a feel for in real life, it looks both very compromised and restricted yet it somehow also looks like it can reach a competent range. To me, at least.

Ever since they revealed the new figures coming in the future for the Legacy line, I am very excited and happy to see that Armada is now getting the recognition it deserves. Transmetal 2 Megatron and BW 2nd Leo Prime are a very nice addition to the BW line-up, but the one thing that caught my attention was the introduction of Tarn. Can't wait to own these figures in the future. :D

Tarn :CON:, looks magnificent, just super dope. Nothing I would change I dont think. Although I am hoping his mask comes off and a face is underneath. Pre-ordered and I cant believe he didnt sell out yet.

Breakdown, is pretty great in robot mode, but I'm a bit disappointed in his vehicle mode. Guess they saved the repaint until last. Still, he doesnt look bad and at least has the spoiler. Pre-ordered and I cant wait to finally complete a great looking Menasor.

Needlenose, I am glad he is a deluxe, as for some reason him being same size as the Seekers doesnt seem right, dont know why. As a bunch already said; his targetmasters are a bit of a let-down. Pre-ordered.

A Hero is Born set, is very sweet looking. About time we had a good looking Alpha Trion and Vector Sigma will be icing on the cake. Orion Pax looks cool too but not the main draw for me. Pre-ordered.

Lio Convoy is awesome looking, but I cant fit him in my collection. Already have the TFCC one and fairly satisfied with it. Hot Shot looks good too and glad Armada fans get new stuff. These new Junkions almost got me, but Ima wait to see more. Its a cool system looks like. Core Dinobots, meh, but interested to see the retool/repaints.

Tarn is the coolest figure since a long time. I've stopped collecting TFs but I think I'll buy it asap.

I still ask myself how could They spoil Menasor with those "broken" cars on the arms and, most of all, with Breakdown and Wildrider on the back of the legs (ad made from two identical molds, except for the legs, so Breakdown's alt mode has a Ferrari front with a Lamborghini rear): the choiche of linking BD and WR in that position is unexplanable. It could have benn a great figure, otherwise.
