Nothing really stands out as "must have" for 2024 at this point. If the rock based weaponizers look coo I'll probably get them. At this point however I pretty much have almost everything I want that isn't a combiner. Also, no combiners on the roster for 2024, I know some will be disappointed, but hopefully more of the obscure ones that haven't happened yet will happen in time.

AS a fan of combiners, I'm perfectly ok with Animated Motormaster not combining. Its a different idea for a team, but it still very much works. Not all teams (Dinobots originally , Insecticons etc... have to be combiners).

The deluxe Optimus Prime still baffles me a bit. It seems at this time to exist merely so Hasbro can say they've had an Optimus in the the 5 years at every Price Point (except Titan...)

As per usual with these lists, there's no mention of the CC or Titan. We can all make guesses, but have there been any legit insider rumors yet?

Personally, I'd like to see Tidal Wave as the Titan, but if he was the Commander, I'd love to see Cyberverse Iaconus as the Titan.

Back when Hasbro unveiled Armada Megatron, they strongly hinted (without stating outright) at a forthcoming Tidal Wave figure to combine with him, but whether that will be a Commander or a smaller remains to be seen.

I haven't seen anyone say it yet but legacy rock is an obvious Rock Lord (could just be a code name though and might be something like animated laserbeak as he was a rock guitar?)

I'll need to wait on the actual reveals for these figures before I can make a judgement. They ALL sound good as a simple text description, but then when you see what is actually done with them, they can become less appealing.

Although there were unrealised plans for Devastator in Animated. I did like that they subverted the combiners in that series.

Don't tempt them. There are still a couple designs that could be upscaled...

Powermaster Optimus Prime (Not the Ginrai redesign)

Some thoughts on the recently leaked list:
No surprise about the listing itself, but it's still a relief to see Swoop. Especially being leader class.
My gut tells me this leader Soundwave is not a G1 version.
I know the designs are somewhat different, but with a Steeljaw on the way, I'm assuming we'll see a Core G1 Ravage in '25.
Of the questionable listings, I'm anxious to see what the "...86 Bumblebee" is.
Not sure how the listing for Sunstreaker would be correct rather than a mislabeling for SS86; again, my gut tells me Hastak received (and/or saw) enough feedback that this character needs a post-pandemic release, and is making it happen.
I'm also interested to see what has been done with the design of "Animated" Motormaster, but with the previous Animated releases, my bar of expectations is pretty much on the floor.

Still hoping that G1 Hound happens, and surprised that none of the lesser known Insecticons are being released knowing they'll just be retools/repaints of Shrapnel and Bombshell.

At most it looks like I'd get a dozen figures from this list. More likely, around 7-8.

It's likely just a head retool of the Voyager Animated Optimus that's coming before it, since that's what Animated Motormaster looks like and is what his original toy was.

Don't mince words. How do you REALLY feel? I find it ironic that you choose to complain about someone crying and whining by . . . crying and whining. Believe it or not, everyone has the right to have, and extoll the virtues of, a preferred aesthetic. Not just you. Some of us have been collecting these things since the mid 80's, when these characters were established and first entered the culture. Seeing these characters redesigned as something that doesn't match their established look and features is a bit like seeing a documentary of the American Revolution with Ru Paul cast as George Washington. "Creative" and "innovative" as it may be, it's not historically accurate and therein lies the issue. Create a new character. Stop recreating existing ones. But maybe that's just me. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

As a devoted Geewunner, G1 toys make up less than half of my current collection. I collected Armada, Energon, Cybertron, RID, Beast Wars, Alternators, Universe, Generations, as well as a good number of other transforming lines that had no connection to the Transformers at all. I do have a few Bayverse and Animated figures, but I have to admit they were gifts by well-meaning family members. If I like it, I'll get it.

For Motormaster, it will be a redeco of voy animated Prime with a new head. It will have the details of animated, like the headsculpt and chest windows, but with more standard proportions. Same as we saw with Prowl

And as for the insecticons, we got one of the lesser ones in last year's creature pack.

And as for the insecticons, we got one of the lesser ones in last year's creature pack.

And since retools and redecoes tend to show up as retailer exclusive in capsules or one-offs, they could be coming next year outside of the mainline. JTPrime has only leaked the next Walmart capsule so far, and new Deluxe Insecticons could appear in Buzzworthy Bumblebee like Ransack did.

But Animated isn't the same history as G1. It's a completely different non-G1 world entirely.

Now wait a minute. All of those lines were full of, as you put it, "recreated characters". Armada Starscream was an honorable swordsman instead of a conniving backstabber. Energon Shockblast (trademark-friendly "Shockwave" rename) was a homicidal serial killer instead of a logically-minded military operations commander. Cybertron Soundwave was a laidback radio DJ type with a sinister streak instead of an emotionless spy. And RID Ultra Magnus was the polar opposite of G1 Ultra Magnus, being the arrogant and vindictive brother of Optimus Prime who was willing to murder him to get what he wanted, instead of a loyal City Commander. And all of those guys (save for Magnus) looked much closer to their G1 namesakes than Animated Motormaster looked like his.

I got the Ratbat/Megatron and Orion Pax/Shockwave pack yesterday. Amazon had them 20% off.

Orion Pax is the real winner for me so far, I am adoring this figure. He looks really nice and feels great in hand. Well done.

Shockwave is probably my 2nd favorite, it feels like a deep cut and I love it.

Ratbat is my 3rd favorite, the purple is so rich, and it makes the gold pop so hard. I just wish his ankles didn't basically settle into full A or straight standing, he doesn't like to pose much outside those.

Megatron was one I was really excited for, but for some reason, he has a really bad lean backwards and I can't figure out why. It feels like it's in his heels, but they are flat and level. I dunno. he's hard to stand in a neutral pose.
