IIRC, that was more wishful thinking regarding the Leader class Soundwave.Nemesis Primal wrote:There's also the rumor we've had of Marvel colors Soundwave floating around for like a year now, no clue if anything's happening with that if this tease is indeed the last of the capsule.

At first I was thinking Blaster since he'd be Straxus's rival, but nope, Blaster had blue hands in the comics.

There was some of that, yeah, but I could have sworn that started because the individual who first leaked/described last year's IDW Miner Megatron also said they saw a purple Soundwave around that same time, and thusly when mystery Soundwave listing popped up some of us said "oh, so that's where that went".Sabrblade wrote:IIRC, that was more wishful thinking regarding the Leader class Soundwave.Nemesis Primal wrote:There's also the rumor we've had of Marvel colors Soundwave floating around for like a year now, no clue if anything's happening with that if this tease is indeed the last of the capsule.
I think that's just reused art from the Core class SW box, so not necessarily.Hero Alpha wrote:Since they were using box art, that Soundwave has new forearms in it w/o Siege stuff.

From the space bridge, I think all I'm really looking forward to, is that Deluxe G1 Prime, and the Leader Soundwave, which should come in with a few of his tape guys to fill in that leader price. So glad they are finally releasing the Netflix retool. But that just makes it stranger that they don't re-release Netflix BB.

No, those are definitely the same guns that came with Needlenose.william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote:Deluxe Class Quake (appears to have two transforming Targetmaster partners ala Needlenose)
He's a retool of Skullgrin and those are just either a recolor or a variation on Skullgrin's accessories.

Of course they will. Soundwave was a prominent character in the movie, and we already got Rumble and Frenzy.chuckdawg1999 wrote:f they do a SS86 release after this there will be BLODD!

Was he, though? He only had four lines in four different scenes:Rodimus Prime wrote:Of course they will. Soundwave was a prominent character in the movie,chuckdawg1999 wrote:f they do a SS86 release after this there will be BLODD!

Straxus is looking great in bot mode but I dont want him to have any similarities with galvatron so I'll stick with my old deluxe.
Razorbeast88 wrote:If they do Blaster and Soundwave it'll be in a future wave since they said they want to continue the line
They said the next release is super out there and surprising and that they'd be adding new bots to the collection. So it's not one of the basic characters they always do. Idk who flame and xaaron are but that makes the most sense

I honestly think it simply has to do with the licensing involved to re-use the VW mold, especially if they are going to want to repaint/retool the hell out of it. New mold with much more repaint potential and not having to pay VW seems pretty smart on their part.

I have no doubt in my mind that he'll be licensed. Hasbro is very keen to keep a good relationship with VW, to the point that they put the VW logo on the back of the reissue Bumblebee figure a few years ago and this is basically an updated version of that. Heck, Missing Link Bumblebee is being touted by Takara Tomy as an officially licensed VW product, but the same isn't said about Cliffjumper. In fact they point out that CJ is 80% the same as Bee as if explaining why they didn't need to license it.
