Not if you've seen any or all of the previous 4 movies.
Because this horrible fanbase treat these movies like it's supposed to be for them when it's not it's meant to get new people into Transformers it worked for my little sister and it works with many kids and I have seen many a thread that had older people stated they either got into Transformers because of the movies or got back into it after leaving it.
Do these movies have bad humor and less robot action sometimes...maybe but really unless your Disney no one is really going to treat Transformers as a serious franchise and you guys are actually lucky to have Bay be the director because most Directors are going to do what he does but with less quality and that thing is pandering to normal audiences.
The bad humor you people so hate is pandering for them so is all the big explosions and gruesome action scenes and all of it is done with some quality especially thanks to Industrial Light & Magic and other companies.
These movies are not great but they are entertaining popcorn munching movies and for many that's enough if people are expecting a movie like MTMTE it will never happen.
You can have a '
good' movie, and still have a great summer popcorn flick; just look at Civil War, or Deadpool, or Pacific Rim, or any other on a long list of 'good' films. These movies are not 'good', and a lot of people are sick of the nonexistent quality of the writing and - sometimes - acting and direction.
It's cool if you like them, but they are far from being even 'average' movies, in fact, I'd say that they're almost as bad as the Star Wars prequels, but for (mostly) different reasons. These can be good movies, they could even be great movies, Guardians of the Galaxy has shown us that one can indeed elevate schlock, and turn it into a great movie going experience, and it all starts with the one thing they've been lacking from day one, solid writing and solid acting/direction.
