Personally I’m already sold on what I’ve seen from most of this line. While some of the battle damage may be a little too heavy for my tastes on some of the figures, I think the concept itself makes for a nice change of pace.

The war-worn paint apps are really hit and miss for me. They look very effective in the CG renderings and even on the hand-painted models shown off at some of the trade shows. However, when seeing them on the "finalized" actual retail products, they're very underwhelming. Instead of looking like scratches in paint and wear in metal, it comes off more like dirty splotches of mud. Unfortunately, we're probably way too far along now for any changes to be made in production. On the bright side, though, these "weathered" paint apps solve on problem with collecting Transformers toys, finding the ones with the best paint jobs! Now, any little paint bleeds, errors, or imperfections can be written off as "battle damage."

I’m inclined to agree. Some figures wear the damage better than others. Sideswipe is probably the best example of the battle damage being done well. Again, I applaud Has/Tak for taking this gamble, whatever the end result may be. If nothing else I am very relieved that they aren’t battle damage stickers.

It's comical that they can't even market a completely fictional energy weapon as a toy because "OMG IT'S A GUN!!!" I mean, what the hell are Nerf guns?

Nerf Guns are toys marketted as guns and only guns. Just like real guns are marketted as real guns. People know what they are buying and what they can avoid. A transformers toy is anaction figure in a different category of toy and merketted differently. I dont know why that is so hard for anyone to understand.

I think what most people who don't seem to understand are missing is the viewpoint of the parent. Some parents will not allow their kids to play with any types of toy gun that would be for imaginary play of their child shooting someone else. With Nerf, those parents can avoid the entire toyline. Those same parents, if they see a transformer that has a human sized gun alt mode, may decide to avoid the entire transformers toyline. This is what Hasbro is guarding against.

Look, CW shockwave has a gun alt mode and he was just fine for them to release. Why? Because it was too small to be used by a human, and was clearly for use by other transformers.

Shockwave, Six-Shot and Quickswitch had to have their gun modes "hidden" because they scaled for humans to use, and some parents may turn their nose at the whole line if they saw an official gun mode for those figures.

Perhaps this line should have been called Cybertron - After Dark. Cars having sex, an excited one eyed purple head. What's next? I think we need a fem-bot with boob guns to push things over the top.

Ok, so sorry pervos but the handle is made of his outer legs. His head is either inside his torso or sqwuished between his arms. The wings at the top of the bridge can be seen on his uter legs folded up. And on his smaller spaceship mode we can see his robot legs have been turned around so that the inner leg detail is now on the outside part.

Judging by the hose, it looks like it's part of his backpack.

EDIT: Unless the hose just unplugs and replugs somewhere else.

Great catch, I had already figured out that his ear flaps were different than the handle after I posted, but couldn't figure out where they came from.
