LEGO Doubledealer Triple changer

As a child, I had many KOs and one of them was Doubledealer. I didn't knew he was part of G1 TF series really. But as the sole triple changer (I'm a big fan of one) in my collection then.... he gave me tons of nostalgia.
2 years ago ,around March I think, hasbro finally released a sneak preview of updated version of DD. Sadly, I was dissapointed with how the bird mode turned out, and don't get me started on his knee joints position.
I guess it;s time for me to build my own DD instead. So there!
Even thought the project was only completed few weeks ago, 90% of the time it was in limbo.. due to some technical design challenges I was unable to resolve then.
As you can see.... I made a huge tradeoffs by letting the bird wings to be exposed in bot mode. There's simply no way I can conceal them snugly.
Please visit my blog below to view more photos, especially the transformation between modes.. and my thoughts on this project, too!

And oh yes.. and project as ambitious as this deserves its own "outtakes" video, where I show a few design challenges and how I solve them :
Well, putting a closure to this project means I finally can move on to the next triple changer project I had in mind. Sandstorm perhaps?
