Profile: Originally a simple merchant on Cybertron, Pipes took on the role of soldier following the dawn of the War. An excellent fighter – tough, brave, and innately very strong – otherwise worthy of little note, except for his eccentric hobby. The Autobot has strange fascination with discard technology and gadgetry, starting as his early days in the bazaars on Cybertron. Since coming to Earth, Pipes has become enamored of the humans’ primitive and ingenious technology. He is so enthralled by Earth technology that he has taken to collecting these artifacts, storing them within a secluded corner of the Ark-19, a miniature museum to America’s consumer culture. He will gladly talk for endless hours about each of item in his prized collection, much to the exasperation of his compatriots. Of course he makes a point to not allow his hobby to interfere with his responsibilities to the Autobot cause – at least not usually.

Pipes’ avatar is that of a middle-aged male human of a particularly large body-type and thick grey mustache and beard. He is dressed in a pair of navy-blue overalls, a dusty, plaid shirt and light blue baseball cap worn backwards.

Abilities: In vehicle mode, Pipes can travel 100 mph, has a range of 400 miles and can haul up to 60 tons. He is among the strongest of Autobots and has a wealth of endurance. His most notable ability, which he has trouble controlling, is to emit clouds of corrosive gases from his exhaust pipes. This is possible in both modes, but is more useful in robot mode, when he has more control. If he stays at it for at least ten minutes, these noxious gases will eat through a 2” slab of ordinary steel.

Weaknesses: Pipes is fairly tough; but even a mere scratch to his corrosion-resistant armor leaves him vulnerable to the destructive effects of his own exhaust gases. Often, in the heat of battle, Pipes is unaware of such blemishes and, consequently, sometimes succumbs to his own weapon.
