Oh, I don't know if CR is available for that version of Android, but you should still be able to just download them from your device, even without a HB app. Just visit the site with your browser, you may have to tell your browser to give you the desktop version of the site though.

If it helps, here's their guide for Kindles.

Thank you. That worked.

That part aside, is it worth $15? Yes, very much. RiD volumes 1-5 are hit or miss for sure, but having the Dark Cybertron arc does include things that shouldn't be missed for MTMTE, and post-Dark Cybertron Rid/TF is really quite good.

Could you tell me what Dark Cybertron is about. Not plot necesarily, but who it entails and how it fits in and what should be read before?

Sure!

IDW "Phase 2" Continuity is basically this:
- The Death of Optimus Prime (this is contained within MTMTE Vol. 1)
- MTMTE Vol. 1-5 and RiD Vol. 1-4, which would be "Pre" Dark Cybertron. Not really any need to alternate reading order or anything like that, though I'd recommend RiD Vol. 5 before reading MTMTE Vol. 5 for maximum impact on, uh, one page or so.
Hope that helps!

So it helped! I know its been a really long time since you wrote it but I finally had time to catch up (I had read more recent issues though) and now understand exactly what you mean by maximum impact on that one page. This is the page:

Image

And you know what, it was totally worth it to read RID vol 5 before. I was glad to have some context for seeing Starscream and Rattrap, so thanks!

And you are right, RID is not that great, especially when compared to MTMTE. I felt lost reading RID, like things were needlessly complicated and all exposition with nothing really happening in the end. A Soundwave vs Shockwave fight sounds like a monumental moment, but after reading it I didnt see how it changed anything in the story or for the two characters, there was no impact. And the art changed quite a bit from issue to issue so I couldnt tell who was who sometimes until they said their names. MTMTE has none of these faults. Though I would like to see more DJD, for a team so talked about I thought I would see more of them.

In any case, just wanted to share some thoughts and thank you again since what you wrote and the advice was indeed quite helpful.

Fellow Seibertronians, in the midst of NYCC dropping many a bombshell of news on us; a completely separate piece of exciting news has emerged - the website Humble Bundle is once again doing an IDW Publishing bundle in the wake of the current Revolution event. These are all digital and range right from the beginning of the saga with the very first series (Infiltration) right up until the latest offerings of Robots in Disguise/The Transformers and More Than Meets The Eye - collecting issues 1-49 of both series.

It also includes the other series featured in Revolution, from G.I. Joe to Action Man to Micronauts. If you've been wanting to jump into the IDWverse or want to know more about this whole Revolution event, this might be your best chance! Check out the list of comics you can get below within the link.

Would it kill them to include Megatron Origins?! Or last stand of the wreckers. Even comixology doesnt have an actual collected version of Origins.

IDW Publishing Humble Bundle - Transformers and G.I. Joe

Charity website Humble Bundle has once again delivered on giving Transformers fans a great deal on Transformers comics today as they're rolling out a bundle of IDW comics featuring both Transformers and G.I. Joe! If you're the type to not like crossovers of the two though, no worries; as that's not the focus of this -- in fact there seems to be rather little focus, with comics ranging from the main IDW Generation 1 continuity (with the likes of More Than Meets The Eye and Till All Are One) to the Live-Action IDW comics to the Regeneration One maxi-series! This does mean that if you've been wanting to dip your toes into some of IDW's Transformers material but you didn't know where to start or what universe to go for; this could be for you! And, just to make this more impressive; the full thing is a whopping $741 worth of digital comics for only $25 -- and proceeds go to the Hasbro's Children Fund! Check out the list of which Transformers comics are in the Humble Bundle below, then click the image to buy some of the bundle if you like and tell us if you did in the forums!

$1 or more
- Transformers: Regeneration 1, Vol. 1
- Transformers vs G.I. Joe #0

$8 or more
- Transformers: Combiner Wars
- Transformers: Evolutions - Hearts of Steel
- Transformers: Nefarious
- Transformers: Regeneration 1, Vol. 2-4
- Transformers: Till All Are One, Vol. 1

$15 or more
- The Transformers: The IDW Collection, Vol. 1
- Transformers vs. G.I. Joe: Tyrants Rise, Heroes are Born
- Transformers: Autocracy Trilogy
- Transformers: Salvation
- Transformers: Till All Are One, Vol. 2
- Transformers: Windblade
- Transformers: Windblade - Distant Stars

$20 or more
- The Transformers: The IDW Collection, Vol. 2 - 4
- Transformers: IDW Collection Phase Two, Vol. 1

$25 or more
- The Transformers: The IDW Collection, Vol. 5 - 8
- Transformers: IDW Collection Phase Two, Vol. 2 - 4

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this might just be the biggest IDW Transformers humble bundle yet. I'm actually not entirely sure if it misses anything from the main G1 continuity, and it throws in some other IDW TF and GI Joe stuff on top of all that! This is bloody the hell huge.

edit: just checked, and it includes everything before Death of Optimus Prime and almost everything before Dark Cybertron. It then also includes Combiner Wars, the Autocracy trilogy, Salvation, and almost all the Windblade comics (bar the last three issues of TAAO). And then it includes all 7 volumes of the IDW GI Joe collection, which - as far as I can tell from a few google searches - includes all the main IDW GI Joe continuity comics before Revolution.

So... yeah. This is a pretty awesome bundle for fans of the Hasbroverse before it became the Hasbroverse.

I was considering it myself, if only to have a complete collection of pre-DOOP IDW under my belt; but the £20 price point is making it a bit of a stretch... :-?

Also, anyone else find it odd that GI Joe vs. The Transformers #0 is there, but nothing else from that maxi? A single live-action volume - Nefarious - being on its own is odd too, but at least that's, you know, a whole self-contained volume.

The way I see it, they tide me over until I have enough money for the more expensive physical copies. That way I have some copy of the comics I love and am in some way giving money to them :)

Yeah same. My tech often hates me so I prefer solid copies.

Honestly I'm more of a read it once kind of guy, with rare exceptions, but I also like having it there in case I do want to reread. I prefer physical but this works out well enough and it's a great price.

Don't forget to click "choose where the money goes" right around where you input your email. If you don't do that it's only a negligible amount going to charity.
