We should probably also talk about Rung

Seriously, who is this guy?

That was what I thought when I first meet him in MTMTE. Since then, he has become one of my favorites, and I'm desperately waiting for a toy of him. There has always seemed nto be something about him, and hints have been dropped galore as to his greater purpose.

So what do you all think? Mild mannered robotic head shrinker? Or something........more?

Discuss, and bring me cupcakes as my wife won't let me have them anymore. :(

I wouldn't be surprised if his alt-mode was actually Unicron's Transforming Cog.

I always had the impression that Rung was the manifestation of James Roberts in comic form.

And yes, I also believe he will be instrumental to the arrival of Unicron, if indeed the Big Guy will show. And if he does, I sincerely hope Primus will be included as well, if in physical form, perhaps as visions in Rodimus's mind.

Perhaps he is Primus's transformation cog and he will be instrumental if/when Unicron arrives. The alternate future seemed to imply killing him was a very bad thing. He said that if the Functionalists kill him that their world would be destroyed. Perhaps he literally meant their world(Cybertron) would be destroyed if he is killed.

His name is Rung, like a rung on a ladder. He transforms into a large, cylindrical beam, not unlike a rung on a ladder. Perhaps he is part of a ladder of some sort.

He could also be rung like the past tense of the word Ring, and he is some sort of instrument to ring a bell.

No idea, but I still maintain that his alt mode is literally a rung; from some silly celestial ladder to Primus' brain or something.

Yeah, it's not coffee!

Rung being an integral part of Primus, instead of a key to the arrival of Unicron? Very interesting. I always thought Rung was a bad guy who was pretending to be what he was to gain the trust of the Autobots and get inside their heads to gain as much information as he could before his master arrives. Like he was 1 of Unicron's heralds or secret agents.

I often wondered something similar to this as well. The functionists thought that his atl mode was too dangerous to keep around.

So now we know that he's Primus, apparently. I wonder how Skyboom will approach the Primus situation? :-?
