Dear High Moon Studios, ....

Dear High Moon Studios,

This is an observation and nothing more. Before I say anything I won't you to know that I am not ungrateful. Trust me, I'm happy that the next installment of your Transformers games is going to include a combiner. HOWEVER, I feel that Bruticus is a little overdone. By that, I simply mean that Bruticus or his mold have seen many incarnations. Now, while I AM a fan of Bruticus I would like to point out that between the Nintendo DS and home console versions of Transformers: War For Cybertron you have (playable) character models for four of the five Stunticons. Now, Wildrider (the missing fifth) is my least favorite of the Stunticons, but it doesn't make Menasor any less awesome.

Again, this is just a simple observation. I still look forward to Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron with much anticipation.

Sincerely,
Finishline

P.S. All passive aggressive hinting would become void in the creation of a Fall Of Cybertron Bruticus figure.

While I am also looking forward to FoC, and I also think that finally getting a combiner to play is awesome, I also think that it should have been someone different. Bruticus and Devastator are over-exposed. It should have been Menasor, or better yet, Predaking.

Bruticus has limbs with diverse alt modes. I have a feeling, that was a factor, and since it's a video game, that he indeed fit their needs the best.

Optimus Prime and Megatron are also overexposed, they get more exposure than any other Transformer. Should they have been left out of the mix? How about Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Starscream, or Soundwave?

The fact that Bruticus is overexposed is probably why he was chosen. It's all about using more recognizable characters.

Very valid point. I hadn't considered that.

In the end, Defensor and Menasor are my favorites, and I miss them. That's all it really is.

Like Scattershot and Slipstream? I think the reason they were chosen was because of his soldier status and that he looks very war-like with cannons over his body, a real machine of war. This is in great contrast to the Stunticons (who have 4 very similar alt. modes) and Predacons (who might also take the limelight from the dinobots).

As someone said before, the Combaticons have diverse alt. modes giving them a versatility (possible flight missions etc) over the 'ground bound' road vehicles of the Stunticons. Bruticus does indeed look like an 'Instrument of Destruction'.

Makes sense for multiplayer chassis' too- Vortex/Blast Off could be basic Scientist molds, Swindle perhaps a scout, Onslaught Leader, Brawl soldier. Gives more variety in that regard too, especially over the alternative combiner teams. (would be hard to use the Preds and the Stunticons would be majority scouts with a leader, maybe two)

I'd love to see them make the entire Combaticon squad and Dinobot squad as figures though, no doubt. Really hope FoC gets more of a full line than WFC did
