uh.. nope

Scalping is the term used to describe someone who buys something in low supply and resells it for a higher price to make profit.

https://4chantoy.fandom.com/wiki/Toy_Scalping

I dont give two shits if it is off 4 chan as it is an accurate description. If you buy something with the intent to sell at a higher price you are a scalper dick-bag. I opened ebay before Cosmos became available on pulse and searched for him, got a couple hits then watched pulse again, as soon as it became available and sold out I went back to ebay, lo and behold there suddenly popped up TONS of pre-orders for prices WAY higher than pulse was selling for. scalpers.

https://abc7news.com/holiday-shopping-p ... s/7582929/

Scalping is anyone that buys something at retail hot or not to make a profit off of it period.

Sure. But Scalping is not selling a 3 year old toy, that is no longer being distributed, on eBay at secondary market price. Which is what Rodimus Ukraine was referencing.

I 100% agree with your definition though as it would give further credence that anyone who calls out scalping on Haslab projects would be wrong in doing so. Since the supply if those toys was literally the demand of the time.

Maybe I explained myself badly but that's what I meant. If you remove the CURRENT toy from the market just to flip it right now, that's textbook scalping. But if you sell the thing in like, more than a year, way long after the thing is gone forever and can't be obtained by any means, that can't be considered "scalping" anymore.

Because if not, then all those people selling authentic sealed G1 toys are "scalpers". And everyone selling their old stuff are too if the things are new.

Overpriced is overpriced, but maybe g1/beast wars is an exception. That's why knocks offs exist ;)

Correction. "Overpriced" is relative to what YOU are willing to pay. Perfect example, a normal toy at normal retail can still be "overpriced" if it's something you have no interests in. However, a Grail you were looking for pop in on eBay at "only" 400% of the original retail price and you'll jump on it.

That weirdness is a hidden rule any collectors unwillingly follow.
¯\_(⟃ ͟ʖ⟄)_/¯

On the K.O side-note, I really want a G1 Gnaw but I want the ORIGINAL one. I could pay the 130$+ the sellers ask for but the market is overflowing with K.Os. So I fear to be screwed over. The Gnaw K.O is of horrible quality and it's still 50$US shipped. I handled one at my local geek store and I had to tell the bad news to the store owner. 50$US for that K.O is grossly overpriced I.M.O.

Just like 85% of the original Generation 1 toys of the 1980s that people love so much. :P

I think I should write an article:

"would you hate the G1 line if it was released today?"

Also, Academy of Dr.X, "overpriced" can only be applied as a comparative assessment. I pay $50-$1000 for comics that were jut 10 cents once. But compared to the current market, I bought them at a pretty good price. There are vintage comics where the seller is asking for much higher than the current market and those are overpriced.

I remember when RID and Combiner Wars were coming out at the same time and while the combiner wars toys were nice, they transformations were all basically the same. Some fans turned their attention to the RID decepticons for a breath of fresh air in terms of design and transformations. I was one of them, it was a great time.

I know but it looks ugly and is a dumb gimmick anyway. I'm sure bumblebee wouldn't sacrifice his spoiler for some random girl to use as a jet pack....

Stop it with your garbage negativity. Let the kids who this is made for decide if they like it or not.

Enough, let's go back to talking about the toys. Which intrigue you? I'm really into that Twitch figure.
While Megs has a cool design, I am dissapointed by the fake kibble chest and how the rotors can't point up in alt mode.

Same. If I buy one figure to test the line it'd probably be megatron, or twitch if she gets good reviews.

From a brief cursory glance at the pics I'm down for Megatron. I wouldn't be surprised if down the track and if the show proves to be successful that we get more "older age appropriate" figures which address your fake chest and rotor concerns.

I'm actually surprised they didn't make any toy of the kids' robo-gauntlets; that looks like prime roleplay material.

First Look at Earthspark Toys in Packaging at Oz Comic-Con

Hasbro is getting ready to launch their new Transformers mainline, Earthspark. This will be the line taking up the majority of the shelfspace for the next few years, as Cyberverse did, to provide kids and parents with Transformers toys all year round for whatever occasion. As with Cyberverse and recent movie lines, the emphasis will be on simple toys and gimmicks, since those have sold well in the past (and in fact, have sold well with kids since G1) but there will be deluxe figures from the get go which aim to provide similar entertainment and complexity as deluxes in other lines. While the toyline debuted at SDCC, it is at the Sydney Oz Comic-Con that Hasbro is showing the final toys in their packaging. We see deluxe Megatron, Twitch and Bumblebee plus Warrior Optimus and Elita-1, along with other toys. It is also revealed that the Mandroid build -a-figure will be made up of 7 toys which will come in different waves. There will be more reveals as the week-end goes on with coverage from Griffin from Ozformers. He wrote the blurb below informing Australian fans of the event:

Transformers Earthspark toys to be revealed in packaging and reviewed at Sydney Oz Comic-Con - Saturday September 24th.
It is at the Dome at the Sydney Showgrounds, Olympic Park, with a Transformers Booth promoting Earthspark, and some other licensed items... so I hope to see a fair few Australian Transformers fans there over the two days.

The booth is at A121, which is right near the entrance... and at 10am in the morning in the "Halloween Ends Theatre", there will be a live reveal of the Earthspark toys IN PACKAGING for the first time in the world.

Since I will be one of two fans helping out Hasbro at the convention, I have already been shown the packaging and toys, and have been given permission to review and post up images after the convention - but Hasbro will be having a professional filming at the convention and the presentation, so you should see something on their official Socials at some point too.

The TFCC hasn't existed in six years.
