Comparison Images Between Upcoming Amazon Autobot 5 Pack and Previous Releases

PrimevsPrime has reviewed the Amazon exclusive Transformers Studio Series Transformers Movie 2007 15th Anniversary Multipack. The most important part of this review is comparisons to the previous releases to see if there are any changes to the deco. And it turns out each of them does have differences, some minor, some major; the bots on the left in the pics are from this new 5 pack and the bots on the right are the previous releases. Ratchet for instance has a big change in how fat the EKG line is on the alt mode and Jazz is a different shade of silver. The changes in deco make some characters more accurate and some less. For instance, both Bumblebee and Ironhide have paint apps removed compared to the previous releases but for Bumblebee, the lack of deco on his chest is inaccurate while the lack of paint on the circles emerging from Ironhide's armpits makes him more accurate (see videos below). In the end, this set is mainly for people who do not have the figures in it and completionists.

Not bad. Hopefully this set will make it easier to get Ironhide, he's the only one I still want.

Will you buy this set just for Ironhide and sell the rest?

Oh and FYI to anyone who was wondering, official stance on PVP has been stated to staff. Anything you may think is off is for Hasbro to look into it, not us. You can report it to Hasbro and if they tell us to take something down, we will comply. Aside from that, anything news worthy will be posted and proper links and credits will be given. If anyone has issues, they can contact the site owner through the "contact us" link at the top of the site. Any talk concerning this on the boards will be seen as not relevant to the toys and subject at hand, and will be dealt with accordingly to site rules. If anyone wants to start a separate topic where they can talk about the ethics of toy reviews, they can.

I would prefer not to, but it's not off the table. Depending on Ironhide's availability. I'm trying to anticipate how this set's release will change that.

Well that's just Prime, vs Prime! :-D

Same, and I like the colors on this one more than the first one. What I'm hoping is that this Ironhide gets a single release the same way we've seen the Target exclusive Buzzworthy ROTF Bee got a retail version later.

Definitely don't plan on buying this box set unless it goes on sale. All of the figures look better than the original releases, especially the tinted windows.

I've lost track of how many times that's been said and nobody's done it yet. Makes me wonder just how committed people are to their cause. :-?

Why bother? The point is to get as many eyeballs on a post to bring attention to an issue. That's not going to happen on some thread in a sub forum of a sub forum.

Is Optimus really more accurate with the loss of the blue on his legs?

They missed out on a fantastic opportunity to give us the ULTIMATE set of movie figures. They should’ve given these a super premium paint job.

I don't think so. The Premium version we got from Takara had the blue there

Emerje wrote:Unless he's more complex than the photos let on I think they could have gone "tall Voyager" with the Fallen since SS Jetfire Optimus Prime isn't that tall. Combining the two just gets Prime up to Megatron's size, he's only bigger if you really lean Megs forward like this.

No such thing as a tall voyager in this day and age. If it's taller than a standard voyager, it becomes a leader. It's what happened to Leader DOTM Shockwave and DOTM Megatron, who both are tall voyagers.

And the Fallen will be just that. He is 2 heads taller than voyager prime, that's a leader in today's world.

And to anyone asking, yes that is a real promotional image for the ROTF ad campaign.

I've never seen that before. Now I will see it every time I eat M&Ms.

...

Fooking hell, I'm gonna have to stop eating M&Ms. >:oP

As for The Fallen, he might be tall enough to look Grimlock in the optics, but Grimmy is still bulkier.

There is also MASS and BULK to consider. DOTM Megatron is compressed like mad to be "voyager tall" but his mass is thickness make him far from "voyager". Especially in vehicle mode. ROTF Megs is as tall as Leader DOTM Megs, but his limbs are way thinner and he's a donut in bot mode. As for Shockwave, he's as tall and bulky as Leader AoE Grimlock.

So a "tall voyager" must be a lanky donut to be "tall". If Fallen is as bulky as Shockwave and Grimlock plus he comes with some goodies on top, that becomes leader.
Make me think that AoE Galvatron should have been a leader. A bit more engineering meat would have fixed that "tall voyager" mess that he is.

Transformers Studio Series Crosshairs, Hot Rod, Rumble and The Fallen Revealed

The Fanstream, still going on at the moment, has revealed wave 4 of the 2022 Studio Series line. The new bots never shown before include:

deluxe TLK Hot Rod
deluxe AOE Crosshairs
core Rumble (can fit inside Legacy/Siege/Netflix Soundwave)
core Wheelie
core Laserbeak
core Ratchet
voyager 86 Ironhide
leader The Fallen

The Fallen looks especially big, which is fun for the fans who miss big leader class bots. He comes with his staff which can be separated into 2 pieces, as well as a face removal gimmick. Also, some of his appendages can be easily removed. His alt mode is based on the previous toy.

Ironhide's alt mode is said to be the size of a voyager class toy and the use of voyager class budget helped make a transformation that didn't require partsforming, with many panels to go from a big alt mode to a smaller robot mode that would scale well with deluxe class characters.

There was also core class Laserbeak, Wheelie and ratchet which fans had already seen (and that some already own).

I'll be getting Ironhide as soon as pre-orders go up, and I may even get Rumble too because he's turned out OK. I probably would have jumped on Hot Rod, Crosshairs and The Fallen if they came out a couple of years ago, but I've downsized my Bayverse collection and now there isn't really a place for any of them.

Down for all the Bayverse stuff in this wave!

Hot Rod and The Fallen look fantastic, very accurate and great sculpted detail. Hot Rod is such an improvement over the original, we’re finally rid of the AOE Lockdown engineering!

Fallen’s alt mode is alright, like Shockwave they prioritized robot mode and man, it looks great. Very excited to have him squaring off with Jetpower Prime!

I’m definitely getting crosshairs but I’m interested in seeing more of bot mode, I’m glad it’s a new mold (although the TLK one is good).

We’ve already seen Laserbeak but it looks great too!

Rumble! Can finally stop looking for that four pack with blue Frenzy in it. Now to wait on word of a Frenzy recolour...and then I guess look for anyone selling their Siege Ratbat on his own.

Would love to see comparisons of Siege and SS86 cassette minions

I liked that AOE Lockdown engineering and Hot Rod rocked that mode. When all is said and done, that version might be the better looking alt mode out of the two, we'll see. Not complaining about him getting a proper mold though, this looks like a really nice figure. Like you, I am not sure about crosshairs. The one thing I really disliked in the original mold were those shoulders and that appears to be fixed. but the trench coat look might be better achieved on the TLK one.

Anyways, I read one of the funniest lines today on the TFW forum regarding SS86 Ironhide:

Engineering aside, I see nothing worth paying voyager price for.

yeah, no SH!T, you put aside the part that makes it worth a voyager price!

The things people say sometimes

Loving these reveals, I'll concur with the rest that Hasbro will tackle the cassettes in this style, but I do reckon they'll spread them out and do the cardinal sin of making some Exclusives.

I’m not a fan of the characterization of TLK Hot Rod (and shockingly, not a fan of the movie itself either), but that figure looks too damn good to pass up! It’s tight, the alt mode is sleek, the colors are on point. I can’t quite tell if it’s a retool of Lockdown though.
