This also coming from the guy posting $60 upgrade kits for a $90 figure that don't make it worth $150 by any remote chance. I feel like, especially having interacted with you over a good long period, your bias really does tell with the official vs 3P/KO market. Saying this thing is the equivalent of an iron factory legends figure is not remotely comparable.

I don't recall stating any recent 3P add-on kits were "worth it", although I did state that Menasor's MIGHT be of relevance. I also stated that Black Zarak's was NOT worth it due to the shoehorning of 3 individual kits into one for reasons of corporate greed.

As for Notroplex, it's just a poorly designed OSKO of the far superior original (which I ended up selling on account if it looking like crud), IMO, and best left to bargain bucket/clearance bins, where I (perhaps rather outspokenly) believe it firmly belongs and will inevitably inhabit the world-over.

This is when I really wish I could tag other members, because ScottyP the podcast host, who is also a long time UT fan and who had similar thoughts to you about Metroplex because he thought that the only real difference was size, was really turned around when he got him in hand.

This is not the old toy. This is an engineering update, alot like Classics Prime to Earthrise Prime. Took what was old, kept the spirit and design, but added so many new joints, tricks, abilities, etc. that it still feels like a whole new thing.

This isn't an oversized anything. This is a properly scaled Metroplex that can pose far better than any other TF this size on the market, complete with old 2000's era fun and "kill you by falling on your head" build quality combined with 2020's fresh ideas, design cues, and joints.

Sounds more to me like he's just mad that it isn't another G1-based Titan. That Hasbro would dare make a Titan based on something from a non-G1 series, with the gall of applying a G1 character's name to a non-G1 character.

If memory serves someone did post pictures of Metroplex and the Cybertron leader class figure side by side.

I think he looks worth it myself, but I've also seen people take aim at it because of the name, which was a Hasbro 2095 problem, 2020s Hasbro just rolled with it.

Ah, come on, dude. That's not "corporate greed" at all. That was just logic. BZ was produced in more limited quantities than Scorpy and all the kits were already developed. I find really annoying that the term "corporate greed" is used for whatever reasons when one doesn't like something. The term is so overused it now means nothing.

Anyway I bought BZ and that kit was NEEDED to make him truly complete. The only part of that kit that was not a must (at least for me) was the legs extension. But appart that I was really grateful to have the complete package in one convenient box. So for me, BZ WITH the kit is the best Titan ever. But if I'd go vanilla, Siege Omega Supreme gets the crown.

Sounds like it.

This makes me wish for Titan Omega Supreme... The ENERGON version. :-B

And make it compatible with a Commander Class Energon Optimus Prime for maximum enjoyment.

Except it lacks several of the design features and accessories that were part of the original, so it's really one step forward and several back for me.

Saw that almost all the. exclusives are gone. Still no override or cosmos. Saw a hauler, but I dont have an inferno or grapple or devastator, and he has the wrong head anyway.

Still no Elita One

But I saw a shockwave. He looks good, but I already have enough Shockwaves. And I will NEVER sell my Cyberverse Schockwave!

Agreed, but of course I'm biased. ;)

Anyways, I dont think Titan Cybertron Metroplex is a bad toy. It looks interesting, just not in my scope of collecting. It would have to be down close to $100 for me to get it. I'm all for other Titans, as long as they fit the description. I cant recall at the moment too many bots from other eras (that were toys previously) worthy of the size of Titan Class, but I'm sure there are a few.

Anyway, I guess things are going to get complicated in the threads. I know a ton of "Legacy Wave 2" leaks have been spoken about here. But now that its officially branded "Legacy Evolution" for 2023, I guess we'll see if a separate thread becomes necessary ;)

Speaking of Titans Class I had always hoped the Powers would have given us Metrotitan with Thrilling 30 Metroplex repaint. Now with Legacy Metroplex hopefully :HASBRO: / :TAKARATOMY: will do the right thing! And with the name...MetroTITAN it's a total win! :VEHI:

Although I'm reasonably ok with my current titan Metroplex, I've read a few times that people want a G1 version (rather than the FOC-esque version), with a Metrotitan repaint too. Is that true?

I went to Wal-Mart today and spotted a lonely Blitzwing on the shelf. Surprisingly I was much more conflicted about getting him than I thought I would be. I left him there and now I have strong regrets. I might go back tomorrow...

I don't really see a problem, it's all the same line to me. It isn't like the vastly different figures we got between SS and SS86.

It's the beginning of September which means Hasbro is now ready look forward to their 2023 product lines. Much of that is going to be revealed at the upcoming PulseCon with Hasbro Pulse on Instagram promising Transformers reveals day one on September 30. As part of their announcement they revealed that, after a year of speculation as to why Legacy toys in store computers since wave one have had "Ev" in their names, the 2023 line will officially be called Transformers Legacy: Evolution! How that translates to the actual toys is anyone's guess, but maybe we'll get a clue at the end of the month.

Meanwhile they've also added some other teasers including a "never-before-seen" partnership as well as what is most certainly going to be Shattered Glass Soundwave.

The Instagram posted is copied below:
Fanbots! Get ready to #RollOut with #Transformers on Day 1 of #HasbroPulseCon2022! Join the team on Sept. 30th, as they reveal SO MANY new and cool things! Fine, we'll give you a taste...how about Transformers Legacy: Evolution?! And a new partnership, including the reveal of a never-before-seen product and artwork! Not enough? So, Legacy gets its own subline imprint, eh? Been a long time since a "Generations" line had one of those. Or at least, not since there was a line that was actually called "Transformers: Generations", which hasn't been a thing since Thrilling 30.

Since then, we've had lines named "Transformers: Combiner Wars", "Transformers: Titans Return", "Transformers: Power of the Primes" (these three collectively known as the "Prime Wars Trilogy"), "Transformers: Generations Selects", "Transformers: Studio Series", "Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy", "Transformers: Siege", "Transformers: Earthrise", "Transformers: Kingdom" (the latter three collectively known as the "War For Cybertron Trilogy", separate from but still affiliated with the aforementioned "Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy" toyline), and "Transformers: Legacy".

While folks have often referred these as "Generations" lines, that name has become more of an umbrella term than a formal name ever since it was dropped from the main-series logo beginning with Combiner Wars.

Sure, there have been store-exclusive subseries like "Siege: 30th Anniversary", "Earthrise: Galactic Odyssey Collection", "Kingdom: Golden Disk Collection", "Legacy: Wreck N' Rule Collection", and "Legacy: Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection", but nothing like this across the entire mass retail toyline since "Transformers: Generations - Thrilling 30".

That does seem unlikely since there was no mention of SS in the post, but there's always a chance of surprises.

Really curious about that mention of a new partnership with a new "product" and "artwork" which is all pretty vague. Could be literally anything from an art book, to a video game remake to the next crossover figure.

Actually, a remake of the FOC game would make sense since there was that rumor of the FOC game figures coming to SS and explain the need to mention new artwork. :-?

When you say remake you mean both games, right? Be weird if they just chose to remake the second game. Though the worst case scenario is Transformers NFTs in the same vein as the power rangers one they did. Despite the market going south, some companies (*cough*Square Enix*cough*) are still pressing forward.
