Transformers Generations Selects Antagony Found at Canadian Retail + Review

While Canadian Toysrus stores have been lagging behind on Studio Series and Legacy offerings, they do ok with more collectible items. Such is the case with Transformers Generations Selects Antagony which was found on Toysrus shelves in Quebec and Ontario. The toy was also released at Canadian Gamestop stores. While it probably won't be found in brick and mortar retail in the US (aside from maybe Gamestop), the toy is readily available from online stores like BBTS. While this toy is a redeco of an existing toy with an extra head, we do have a video review below just in case you wanted to see more of the toy.

If you have found her, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

I just got her this past weekend. I actually like her better than Inferno. The Scavenger head is cool, but I like her standard head- it looks more like her original toy.

I got her about 2 weeks ago. She is really nice. I put the Scavenger head to differentiate her from Inferno, especially since she really doesn't have the right head.

She has gone nicely into the new Unicron shelf

Previously Leaked Hound Might be Coming in a Gen Selects Multipack

Hasbro has lots of toys being simultaneously designed and release plans are never set in stone unless revealed officially. This is why even though we got leaked renders for a Earth mode Hound figure a while back, it's release could not be certain until Hasbro officially revealed it (or it was found in stores). While we still don't have an official reveal, we do have a new listing featuring Hound. It comes to us from JTPrime17 and you can see it below with its product code.

The listing is for an autobot Multipack made to coincide with the 40th anniversary of G1 featuring Hound, Jazz, Wheeljack, Sunstreaker and Trailbreaker.

TRA GEN SELECTS AUTOBOT MULTIPACK; DlX Hound, Jazz, Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker
Product code: G0206

Even now, three years after Kingdom, Hasbro just couldn't resist giving us yet another release of that Earthrise Wheeljack mold, as if we haven't already had plenty of releases that shelfwarmed to here and back. >:oP

Worth noting that's the same product code as the Autobot multipack listing we got back in August, so that's seemingly the same set as this and there's still a 3-pack who's contents are a mystery.

Well I definitely won't be getting this Hound then. I have all the other ones. I hate these multi-packs. I'll stick with the siege mold.

Unless the Hound included in that pack is a genuine new mold, that set will be an easy pass for me.

Still, for all of those who have missed out on at least 2 or 3 of the other included toys, this set will certainly be worth it.

The only one I'd really want from the set is sunstreaker
I'm fine with siege Hound
Don't really care about trailbreaker I have Hoist and like him better
And I don't really like that wheeljack. I was tempted with bee movie wheeljack but im holding out hope a Prime version of the character is released in a few years

JTPrime says Hound should be the same Earth mode figure from the cancelled Target two-pack as in the render posted. Pretty sure that's expected to be retooling of Siege rather than completely new.

I'm thrilled to be getting a proper Hound even if I'm not thrilled about the release, since I have the others. I know a lot of people missed out on Sunstreaker in particular, and he had opportunities for improvement, so maybe that will be justified. There could be other minor variations, like opaque windows (for a cartoon look, like with SS86 and BB re-releases) or toy decals (like the last five-pack giftset of the Stunticons.) I've doubled up on a lot of G1 figures recently, so maybe I'll find someone who wants an incomplete set of G1 updates.

Dammit, I was actually looking forward to this one. I don't need all five of those figures.

Sigh, I really don't want to pay $120+ just to get a CHUG version of G1 Hound.

If the price is right and there's some effort put into it, this might be the best-selling Generations Selects release to date. If Hasbro follows the trend of removing the clear plastic then Jazz will be a huge improvement. The other three need to include proper weapons and their extra accessories from the bonus pack properly painted to be worthwhile.

You could sell off the others. Or maybe find someone here to split the set and share the cost.

I'm happy to take Trailbreaker off someone's hands ... as long as you don't try to stooge me, the conversion rate will be painful enough.

At least these will sell unlike all the Disney merchandise crowding Disney discount warehouses nationwide.

Ouch, yeah, seeing as I already have gotten the rest of these figures separately, I guess I'm gonna have to hope ol' Hound gets rereleased somewhere else down the line, or probably when he gets another new mold. I already really enjoy this retool thanks to Detritus, but I definitely don't need everything else this multipack is offering just to get the guy who was supposed to have it first!

Ouch, this is a five pack now?!
IDK, I just don't need another Jazz or Wheeljack, and in truth I could probably do without Trailbreaker since I've got Hoist. I just though since he appeared in a few episodes he'd be neat to have but I'm running out of room quite fast. And I'm honestly not totally digging that Hound, feels a bit too light in color for starters and it's not quite as "Hound" to me.

I'll probably just pass.

I have them all (except for Hound obviously) and I DESPISE Legacy Detritus. Detritus is one of the worst repaint/remold I've ever seen. They actually REMOVED parts from Siege Hound and made him more hollow and cheap. The bot looks like some AliExpress KO and that jeep is just sad looking. I never bought that aptly named Detritus.

That pass is not just easy for me, it's mandatory.

I'm looking forward to this set just for Sunstreaker alone.
Since I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the Autobot characters, my critiques are usually more tame because I just don't care as much.
While this new Hound probably could and should be better, what's seen in the image is definitely good enough for me.
Like Sunstreaker, I never saw Trailbreaker, and I actually like his design more than Hoist's, on top of being a figure that will add a little visual variety to the shelf.
As a couple others have mentioned, if Wheeljack and Jazz are made with all solid plastic, that's a win. If this pans-out, I have a plan for a diorama where the current versions of these two may be disassembled, customized, and used as destroyed, random bots; unfortunate victims of Tarn and Jhiaxus teaming-up and going on a rampage.

I'm a little surprised that Wheeljack and Jazz have been included over others that were past exclusives like Sideswipe, Bluestreak, or even Red Alert. But this set does tell us that Hastak is aware of and/or heard enough chatter about those difficult-to-find ER waves. And I can appreciate that.
Even if these figures end up having clear plastic, I'm still in for this set.
I'm so close to retiring from the collecting game that I don't expect to see new versions of any of these characters before I bow-out. I think it's fair to say that almost all of the recent and semi-recent figures of G1 characters are very close to if not definitive versions.
Whatever small improvements could possibly be made to most of these probably won't be worth the price increase 3-5 years from now anyway.

I have no strong opinions either way because there are not in my range of collection. However I am glad the Earth mode Hound is getting some sort of release. Seems like the cancellation of the Buzzworthy line was probably put in place a while ago. ER Sunstresker, and Trailbreaker were hard to find,.so that's good for fans who missed out, but Wheeljack and SS86 Jazz were in a abundance. The bad thing is that this could have been a SS86 set and get a lot of characters that had brief appearances in the film, but Trailbreaker makes that not possible. So this is just a random set of 84 bits. 1 is new, 2 were previously hard to find, and 2 nobody really needs. I know they kind of do this on purpose with multipacks. Putting a couple gems in with common stuff, but it still doesn't make it any less frustrating for collectors.

This will probably be on Pulse for around $125 USD. Most fans will probably wait for a sale, or be willing to pay $30 or even $40 from the sellers that split them up on eBay as opposed to paying the full 125

Really wasnt fussed about hound, classics is still the go to but if sunstreakers yellows are done right then I might pick this set up. I need jazz anyaways, trailbreaker is fine for something to repaint into another diaclone color and wheeljack is...really, really unwanted.

I can see this multi-pack being from the Studio Series '86 toyline.

That's another reason why I wanted Trailbreaker, to add a bit of variety to the shelf in a sea of red and white bots. So far I only have Brawn, Cosmos, Hoist and Tracks to beak up all that sameness. I just didn't want him badly enough to pay full price.

I do wonder why they chose a 5-pk bundle though, they have to know that only 1-2 are going to appeal to the masses. That said, I assume they will be slight different deco like the blue windowed CliffJumper etc.

I'm pretty close to this point as well, and is one reason why I wanted a few Bots done in a timely manner as in real soon.
