I think the separate thread is definitely warranted
For those that are only into collecting the live action figures or 86 figures
Fingers crossed for a Soundwave in this line
Maybe some dinobots and combaticons from fall of cybertron

Looking at the reveals for today, I think Prime and Barricade look pretty solid! They're tempting, but I may want to wait for a FOC version of Prime.
Bumblebee is the one I was most looking forward to but robot mode is kinda disappointing with the chest shaping - it's way too big and sits too low. I do like the weapon variety though (glad to see the Plasma Cannon in particular!), and alt mode is spot on.
A side note on all of these, I like that the weapons replace their forearms like they do in game!
I think my biggest hope with this subline as a whole, though, is that we expand to the Movie games. Characters like 07 Shockwave, ROTF Breakaway, and DOTM Warpath/Stratosphere would be awesome and complement the existing Bayverse SS figures really nicely!

100% yes - I for one LOVED the Grimlock toy we got and the Combaticons' designs deserved so much better than the CHUG toys - but, most importantly for me, this means we are
that much closer to the rumoured/leaked SSGE Breakaway!

I gasped in gleeful excitement when I saw the reveal pics in the Hasbro Pulse email.

Yeesh.... another sub-line. I understand the excitement for the toys, and we knew they were going to arrive based on leaked lists, but wow... I just thought they'd keep them under the main numbering system... silly me.
. So... the original WFC Generations that came out in 2011/2012 was prior to my return to collecting. I remember seeing them on shelves and thinking they were neat but never purchased any. Are these the same toys just with updated deco, or are these all new?
Lastly, since gaming has its own sub line now. Let's get some SS toys for the Commodore 64 game

I like the concept, but after WFC Siege I don't have any place for these guys in my collection. I will continue to watch with great interest, though.

These are all-new, here's a comparison between the old and new Bees:
The new one has more accurate arms and weapons, but I think the chest and legs were done better on the original.

They look great so far. We'll see when there's in hand pictures and comparisons, but they even seem like an upgrade from the originals, specially in Optimus' case.

While I've never played War for Cybertron, I used to own some of the toys back in the day, namely Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron, Shockwave and Starscream. I'm undecided on whether to get any of these new toys, perhaps if we get Fall of Cybertron Dinobots I might buy those, but seeing as Hasbro have just done two sets of Dinobots I don't expect this to happen any time soon.
I get the feeling that the main reason Studio Series is branching out into video game characters is to pad the line out until another movie enters production, in case there's another five year gap. I have mixed feelings about this, because while the Bumblebee movie has been sucked dry, 1986 probably doesn't have much further to go, and Rise of the Beasts will only go so far, there are still a lot of Michael Bay characters that haven't had new toys in Studio Series yet, like Hound, Que, Onslaught and Frenzy. Regardless, the video games are an area of Transformers that's often overlooked and underrated, so I'm happy that fans of War for Cybertron at the very least are getting new toys of those designs. If the line branches out into Titans, perhaps this is how we'll get Tidal Wave, as a Titan based on the version from the PS2 game.

Perhaps this is how we'll get Tidal Wave, as the first Studio series Titan based on the version from the PS2 game
That would be awesome, but unlikely. We're already getting the Armada characters in Legacy, they won't put them in this line.
Yeah the new Bee got the arms right but otherwise to me it's not as good looks-wise in either mode. I'll wait to see the transformation itself, but having the original, I'm not inclined to replace it with this one.
I think Barricade is a failure in both modes, but I didn't care much about him to begin with, so no biggie.
Prime I will most likely get, since he's a voyager and I prefer this version over the FOC one.

They look good, but I wonder deep with the game's roster they will go.

One of the best case scenarios!

Prime looks fantastic, leagues better than the Original, and I own the original. The transformation definitely looks less fiddly and annoying.
Barricade looks awkward in both modes, but not terrible.
Bumblebee... ooohhh boy..... hope that is mistransformed. Even the original with the super fiddly transformation did it better overall. They can't possibly have left the front of the "bug" mode just hanging off his chest like that. It definitely looks like the front fenders need to fold away somehow, and the bumper folds down to make a more streamlined chest. That definitely looks wrong on so many levels.
Prime will be pre-ordered. Can't wait to see what they do with Megs.
Also I wonder if they are just planning on WfC or if they have FoC in the pipeline too. I'd love to see a new take on Jazz and Sideswipe. not sure we need another Grimlock.
Also, giv e me a FoC Magnus with a massive sword please.

The original deluxe WFC Optimus was just INSANE. Amazing bot mode, amazing vehicle mode, and a transformation that was very, very complex. The only fault of that mold is that it wasn't a voyager.
And now, here we are. I wonder if this new voyager Optimus will look as good in both modes, but with a simpler transformation this time around?

Itr does look great on both modes. You can see the truck mode pics here:

I submitted it earlier, probably haven't seen it yet.
In the meantime, I threw this together in Photoshop. Hope to see him in the future!

This look great. I preordered them all and can not wait to get them and others in the line. This has a lot of potential and I can't wait until they get to FOC as well.
