Add On Parts for Animated Wingblade Optimus Prime?

User Geminorum sent us information that YaHobby.com has posted a listing for the accessories to turn your Voyager Animated Optimus Prime into Wingblade Prime. See the listing here.

It is unsure at this time if this is a legitimate release from Takara-Tomy or if these are 3rd party accessories. The only images on the site are of the official Wingblade Optimus Prime. The set includes the following:

1 x Wingblade kit
1 x Hammer
2 x Fist
2 x Gun emplacements
2 x Missile

It is a great alternative to paying for another Animated prime. I hope it is Takara releasing this set but this came out of nowhere. I will consider getting this.

Iiiinteresting. I wonder how they pulled that off, did they split a bunch of sets, or is this a repro?

Edit: Bought it. Will let you guys how it turns out, if I get it before anyone else.

Well, that's nice. I have both fresh and minty in their respective boxes. We've known about Wingblade Optimus for awhile....why didn't they do this sooner?

Not like it matters, just strict curiosity.

If it's a legit Takara product, so they can make more money selling full figures instead of add-ons. Since HasTak haven't been known to release add-on kits, I think this may just be YaHobby filling the demand by selling split sets. I do see a listing for loose 'Sons of Cybertron' Primes, but of course they are not quite the same. Notably absent are any loose Rodimus figures, so that could be the answer right there.

Now this is pretty cool, and fairly reasonable. Does this set work for both the voyager and deluxe animated primes?

That's what they say, but I've never seen it combined with the deluxe version in pictures. All we know is Hasbro hearsay back when they revealed the thing.

"Hearsay"? Come on, surely you remember Animated Voyager Thundercracker's co-sells? That's the Deluxe.

Yeah I remember hearing that too, I had just never seen pictures of it. Hopefully Hasbro isn't mistaken.

Hmm, ever picture I see on your link appears to be the voyager. I may just be looking in the wrong spot though

Then I think you're thinking of the Cybertron Mode Optimus Prime. That is not the one we're talking about. It's this guy:

That is not an official takara product, i purchused the original Wingblade Optimus. Because Takara or Hasbro never release add-on kits. Thats for other companies like Crazy devy or Fansproject.
The takara "catalogue" is on:

That's why I'm speculating YaHobby just took a bunch of Wingblade Prime sets and split them up so people who are only interested in the add-on can buy it. If it turns out I'm wrong and it's a 3rd Party product, well, I've spent $30 on worse things, so it won't bother me all that much.

The pic on the co-sells is the deluxe:
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-new ... 647489.jpg

It can attach to Deluxe Prime. Peaugh gave us a look at it.
The back pack fits on very fiddly, but the arms lock in place fine.

As to whether this are just Wingblade Prime sets split apart or a real release or even a third party set I'm leaning towards it being a third party set.

The pics on the listing show a Voyager Prime, as evidenced by the circuit patterns on his chest windshields. The Deluxe figures did not have that little detail. In view of that, I'm actually allowing myself to hope that the ridiculously impulsive purchase I just made pays off with a nice quality set of VOYAGER-sized Prime armor.

Nobody was contesting that.

We were just pointing out the fact that the Wingblade pack can attach to the Deluxe, and that the Original Hasbro version, had it been released, was going to include the Deluxe mold instead of the Voyager.

The Pics on Thundercracker's Box as shown above are that very version with the Deluxe OP.

That's pretty neat if they are indeed splitting the packs for ppl to purchase. I got the full set off BBTS, and was originally planning on selling the crystal Prime, but he's pretty neat!

The armor kinda fits on the deluxe Earth-mode Prime (from Battle Begins 2-pack), but looks a little goofy on him (makes him look overly bulky, plus I like displaying deluxe Prime with the rest of the Animated deluxe Autobots for scale... looks great with Sentinel Prime & Rodimus Prime!), so I switched it back to the voyager one.

I think it'll look fine on a non-clear figure.

Just got mine today. Came in a small brown box, was wrapped in 5 layers of bubble wrap, and was contained in a ziplock bag. No instructions, so I had to refer to the gallery for images of how to attach the backpack and guns.

These are the Takomy parts, just split off from the main set as mentioned here before. Still, not a bad deal. When you consider the cost of the accessories and the 12 bucks I spent on the extra Voyager Ani-Prime, I saved around 20 bucks total doing it this way.

The red and metallic blue parts look really good on him.
