Despite the price differences, Henkei Inferno and RA are far superior to the US versions IMO. I wish I had gotten them when they were released.

I always liked the paint job that Takara did for Henkei.

4 of those 5 are easily superior to Classics.

Side Swipe is a maybe.

I loved the Henkei line and have hopes for some gems in the United Line as well

Great pictures! I had almost forgotten about just how superior these henkei versions (except lambor) are to the universe versions.

I can see why some people might like Henkei Red Alert better, but the white arms are a big turn off for me now that I see it. Also take into consideration that the mold doesn't actually use red plastic, so his helmet quite obviously looks like red paint over black plastic. With that in mind if you want RA to have a show accurate red helmet, just buy the American one and paint it since the end result won't be much different.

Inferno is borderline for me. He's a brighter shade of red and has a lot of chrome, but I'm not sure that's quite enough difference to the Universe version worth bothering over.

Ironhide and Ratchet have at least 1 key thing going for them that convinced me to get the Henkei versions; no baby blue! The deeper red, side stripes, and chrome weapons are nice bonuses, but the use of blues that actually match the translucent windows was a big one for me... oh and that Ironhide doesn't have a blue face... and that at the time I got him he was no cheaper than the Universe version.

Lambor is... well he's Sideswipe with a few chrome bits. Neat, but not neat enough.

Thanks for posting this, Mach!

These galleries are ones for which I've had the photos completed, just didn't have the time to post them on Seibertron.com. I had a few days where I couldn't get in front of the camera recently so I decided to plow through some of these older galleries that are on my computer.

Other older galleries waiting to get uploaded to the site (hopefully soon): Henkei Strafe, Encore Bruticus, Universe Ratchet, Universe Combaticons, Universe Aerialbots, FansProject Superion, Pretender Thunderwing, Action Master Axer, and plenty more!

I'm curious how the white-on-white looks on some of your monitors. Some of the photos were really tough to make them look right in photoshop when I adjusted the brightness of the photos. To me, it seems like Ratchet's robot mode pictures turned out better than Red Alert's. If that's true on your monitor, then that means the light bulb switch that I made a while back is achieving the look / effect that I desire. I completed most of Red Alert's photos way back in June when I did BotCon Breakdown's gallery. The same with the vehicle mode pictures of Ratchet and Ironhide. However, I didn't finish Ratchet and Ironhide's robot mode pictures until mid-October, which is after I switched light bulbs and changed a couple of settings on my camera. While some figures seem to turn out better that have white on a white background, I still experienced some problems with figures that have a high-contrast such as RTS Tracks (white and blue).

That's quite a chunky "cod-piece" on 'ol Ratchet and Ironhide! Great looking figures, all of 'em.

Yeah, Ryan, Ratchet's white-on-white look is better than Alert's, I think.

Good to hear. One day I hope I'll be able to have my gallery setup with a black backdrop side-by-side with my white backdrop, or at least a more convenient way to easily switch the backdrop color. One day ...

Well I have and love them all but my Ironhide and Ratchet have a little differences, I didn't complete the transformation and I believe they look better this way at the same size of Sideswipe, if I complete the transformation they would dwarfs next to the others.

I still think it was so sad for me, that during the last days of Universe, I happened to be at Toys "R" Us and they had only one, that's right, ONE Ratchet and Hot Shot, but unfortunately, I didn't have enough cash to get either of them, and that was the last time I saw them at retail. I cried myself to sleep that night. (Ok, joking about that last part, but I was soooooooooooooo disappointed :-( .)

The Henkei versions are all nice. I may have to get Inferno after all. I just can't wait till Seibertron gets ahold of the the scorpion watch, I can't wait to see a fresh Seibertron gallery of this guy.

I'm not sure where to go to get a battery to check if it works

* sigh *

what a tease you are. I'd love to get my hands on the G1/G2 watches. I wish I had snagged that MIB G2 Scorpion watch a month or two back, I thought it went for a fairly reasonable price (probably because not many people watch for that item).

One day ... one day ...

I am teasing. I won that in a lot, I didn't even know it was part of it, broken down it prolly cost me less than a dollar. It's even got the watch band. While it's in good shape the metal couplings on the claws are not terrible ,but not minty. I keep waiting for the galleries lited in your sig.

They're all beautiful, I think I like Ironhide's metallics the best.

I have to agree with ya, buddy. I do own the Hasbro version, and although I like him a lot, I wish Hasbro would've painted his face silver instead of baby blue. :-(

Looks like the Henkei Ironhide and Ratchet have the same head problem that the Universe ones did (head tilted down in robot mode). I think I'll stick with the modified Universe ones I have.

i'm not a big fan of chrome... aesthetically i feel it makes things look a bit too tacky - though admittedly most of the henkei paint apps besides the chrome are better than the hasbros.. it's never been a tipping factor - always buy whatever is cheapest online when i'm lookin for tf's.

besides i always remember all the chrome paint fading and flaking off my tf's sooner than anything else..

if i were given a choice.. the only henkei version of these i'd have gone for is inferno as the chrome does help tie him to his original g1 figure.

Aside from Red Alert and Sideswipe, the Henkei win out on my wish list. It's not the face or the chrome, but the overall deco that's superior. I already have US Sideswipe and Red Alert, and Japan Inferno, Ironhide and Rachet I'm still missing.
