Congrats on the grab! I don't collect movie figs, but I am jealous.

Though I wouldn't call this a prototype, more like an unreleased final figure.

Not much of a Movie fan myself but I have a few more unreleased Movie Figures like Soundblaster Deluxe (Movie Trilogy) and Leadfoot Deluxe (Target Exclusive).

Other unreleased / prototypes I have are Calvin Johnson Megatron , The Original Henkei Ultra Magnus , SDCC Prototype Nemesis Prime and Blue Henkei Bumblebee.

Man, it's such a shame that got scrapped, it looks SO GOOD.

Carded Image of Unreleased Movie Trilogy Series Wheeljack

Seibertron member Primeultimus has shared with us an image of his newly acquired carded Movie Trilogy Series Wheejack. This is a white repaint of the Dark of the Moon Wheeljack with a more G1 looking head that was cancelled with most of the Movie Trilogy Series figures. If you recall, the Movie Trilogy Series was a Dark of the Moon subline that only released one figure which was Deluxe Optimus Prime with Mechtech trailer. Since then, we have also got a look at the unreleased Movie Trilogy Soundwave. Check out the image of what could have been below.

For a look at Wheeljack in his bot mode, we have the official Hasbro image from when the line was originally revealed.

im not a fan of the movies but i would've like to have see the trilogy toy line actually see the light of day, would've been a great way to reissue/remold some of the older figures. Would really like to have seen the allspark figures or what ever they were called without the bright blue parts.

:-?
Hmmm....
Looks like a turd.
:-?
And you know what? Even if you add sprinkles to a turd it's still a turd.
:michaelbay:

Let's face it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who agrees this fig looks horrible. Even if it was given to me for free I'd give it away. Even giving it to charity would be sin!

Just curious as to how much he paid for it. I know prototypes go for a pretty hefty price tag.

Ever heard the saying if you have nothing positive to say to keep it to yourself? I am not a huge fan of the movie line myself but this is a great find.

You are entitled to your opinion but do not try to crap on my thread. Appreciate it!

It's an interesting boxed sample that I'm sure most of us wouldn't think twice about because it's a repaint. Let's be honest, though, this probably would have been a shelfwarmer if it ever hit retail.

Yet it never hit shelves. Now if only Movie Trilogy Ratchet and Bee would show I would have all of the Deluxe Series Wave 7 figures. At least I am halfway there and have Leadfoot Target Deluxe to go with them :)

Nope, it's a pretool with a more G1-inspired head. And I would buy it, it's Wheeljack!

sorry dude, didn't mean to ruin your parade but making an "incredible" find like this looks like a kid finding a penny on the ground. lol, but i see your point, i guess there is a market for movie figures whether it's a prototype or not.

It's not just a prototype, it's an in-package sample of an unreleased/canceled figure, emphasis on unreleased. That fact alone makes it interesting, even more since it reached the packaging sample stage along with Leadfoot.

Then again, it's mostly about what the figure is exactly. All in the eye of the beholder. >:oP

There were only 8 known toys planned for this subline:

Deluxe:
  • Optimus Prime - w/ trailer, redeco of the Walmart Deluxe DOTM figure, only one released in the U.S.
  • Evac - eventually released in the Universal Studios line
  • Bumblebee - redeco of DOTM Deluxe Nitro Bumblebee
  • Autobot Ratchet - redeco of the DOTM Deluxe figure
  • Soundwave - Soundblaster-based redeco of the DOTM Deluxe figure
  • Wheeljack - G1-based remold of the DOTM Deluxe figure
Leader
  • Ironhide - G1-based redeco of the DOTM Leader figure, released in Canada, and released in Asia in Generations packaging
  • Starscream - G1-based redeco of the 2010 Leader figure, released in Canada, and released in Asia in Generations packaging

Awesome find dude! I got one of the loose Soundblasters from that wave and it was an excellent redeco. This looks to be the same way. If you ever open it, we need pics!

Also, as Sabrblade mentioned earlier, some pics of the back of the card would be awesome stuff :)

This reminds me....

I still don't have DOTM Leadfoot, Soundwave, or Wheeljack.

Excellent find. I'm going for the original decoes, though.

Man, I know a lot of people got sick to death of it, but I still think that DotM packaging was just excellent. Everytime I see it I get reminded.

Also agreed! As has been said, it's Wheeljack, and I've always thought the pretooled head looked great.
