If you want to play that game, compare TR Astrotrain with Siege Astrotrain. TR is much taller but he's paper thin. Siege is much more THICC and his train mode is MASSIVE even without the tender.

It will be the same thing with this Galvatron.

Neither of those toys look bad though (well excluding WFC shuttle mode amd TR's train being too thin compared to other figures alt modes) and have right proportions near enough. This Galvatron needs fixes in so many areas it's easier to just wait for another figure. If it was simple leg extensions like doubledealer to make it more proportioned in bot mode it wouldnt be as bad.

If SS86 is truly supposed to be about the celebration of TF:TM 35th, then I don't anticipate it going beyond this year, and would be surprised if there were any more than 3 waves of it specifically. I have relented on rejecting the idea, although I still think it is dumb that Kingdom & SS are sharing toys from TF:TM (there will be no overlap), but, it is what it is I guess...

The only reason there is a SS86 line is because of Beast Wars, so why would there be any overlap anyway?

That is the point I am making. Some fans still don't understand that SS86 are just Kingdom toys that had to be shifted to another line for *budget reasons*. Case In point- the person hoping for a *Better* Galvatron in SS86. Most of us understand what is taking place with these lines in this calendar year, but not everybody does.

Basically there are 3 types of people.

1. Most fan here who understand what is going on, and are ok with it.

2. Fans who don't understand the purpose of the SS86 line, (thinking/hoping some characters will have representation in both Kingdom and SS86)

3. And people like myself (or I could be the only one for all I know) who understand it, but just think it was a poor decision on Hasbro's part.

I'd argue that 1 and 3 are pretty much the same. You can understand it, be okay with it AND still think it was a poor decision. At least that is where I'm at, there really weren't many great alternative plans because of the anniversaries lining up the way they did. If things had to the shoehorned into 2021, then I really don't see many alternative that would make sense aside from creating a new line that would be a 1 and done, which also isn't a great option.

So from what I can gather, this is how Studio Series 1986 came about:

*Some time in 2017/2018*

Jon Warden: "Okay so we've got this really awesome idea for a new trilogy, Part 1 will show the G1 bots during the war for Cybertron, part 2 will be the G1 bots going through space and crashing on Earth, and part 3 will be this big lavish celebration of..."

Hasbro Exacutives: "Le Monke"

Jon Warden: ".....Excuse me?"

Executives: "Part 3 will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Le Monke."

Jon Warden: "....But, we were going to celebrate the 1986 movie's 35th Anniversary, we've got plan for Galvatron and Rodimus Prime and Cyclonus, and we're doing this HasLab crowdfund for a new Unicron. Surely you must agree that the movie is a bigger..."

Executives; "REJECT 86 MOVIE, RETURN TO MONKE!!"

Jon Warden; "Ugh, fine, we'll do Le Monke. But I'm putting most of these 86 Movie toys I have planned in Studio Series."

Executives; "Excellent." *Goes back to waching Harambe videos*

Greetings Seibertronians! Following on from the new images we had of the highly anticipated Leader Class Galvatron figure in the Transformers Kingdom line, Instagram user @seasalt99 has updated their Instagram account with even more images!

These include comparison shots with the Voyager Class Galvatron from Titans Return, with fellow Kingdom Leader Class Figures BW Megatron and Earth Mode Ultra Magnus. We also see him next to Siege Voyager Class Megatron and SS86 Voyager Class Scourge. Take a look at the images below!

What do you think of this version of the Emperor of Destruction? Are you replacing your Titans Return version? Will you be aiming his cannon mode at upstart Starscream?

Shout out in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

I think I've figured out what's bothering me about this figure's proportions. It's head and shoulder pylons are too large compared to the rest of the body.

He's got a thick torso, but I love it. I plan to get him and maybe Netflix Spoiler pack Megatron for a nice little display piece to go with SS86 Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime and my Armada Unicron that I got for a great price after Haslab's reveal

I had seen that particular picture earlier on Reddit, and I believe some of these were taken with a fish eye lense, so some of the proportions seem wonky. Big yikes if that’s not just the camera, this’ll be our only chance at a good Galvatron for a while I bet.

In all honesty, the light bluish silver-gray color that's being used for the battle damage on this figure I would not mind being used as the primary color of the Selects version.

The only reason there is a SS86 line is because of Beast Wars, so why would there be any overlap anyway?

I could see SS86 continuing past this year, but mostly because SS just doesn't have enough leader slots to release all the Dinobots in one year (if they're all going to be leaders). It would be a little weird to just have the Dinobots in an otherwise movie line, and we all know how much Hasbro loves G1.

As for overlap, I think it's theoretically possible to get a SS86 Galvatron, but it would just be a straight re-release or "clean" redeco of the kingdom mold, and it definitely wouldn't come out this year. Though again, I don't think it's likely since the Dinobots are going to eat up the SS leader slots for the next couple years (presumably).

I know, right? He's the same size as TR Galvatron! He looks thicker, so that's probably why he costs so much, but height-wise he looks to be between Optimus and Ultra Magnus. Do he'll be larger than Prime and scale well with Magnus. I'm glad to see his chest isn't as high as it first appeared. The battle damage still looks like crap, though. This will be an in-hand decision. I'm a big G1 comic fan, though, so I'll definitely get the Selects version.

Height looks about right. Shame about the purple on him and Cyclonus both, though. I'm not a fan of the "compromise" cannon that's clear on the end and painted near the base either. Choose a lane!

I kinda hope they make a repaint somewhere down the line, but I'd have ought this by then, so... maybe not.
