Quite literally, this could very well be the best press kit ever (at least in the eyes of a Transformers fan).
I couldn't believe how generous Hasbro was to send this MASSIVE "press kit" to Seibertron.com today that included a large sampling of the products that will be available on June 2nd, 2007, in stores nationwide. Simply put: this thing is HUGE! It makes the AllSpark look like a Rubik's Cube. While I'm not quite sure where I'm going to put all of this stuff (those of you who have been to my apartment will know my dilemma), I thought I'd at least share some pictures of what I consider to be the best press kit that I've ever seen.
I can't say thank you enough times to Hunter PR and Hasbro so I'll just do what I do best and that's provide you guys with information about these products and this press kit as well as a bunch of pictures to help all of you get excited about this weekend's release of the movie products.
I've got to talk about the box itself ... it just has to be mentioned! It's beautiful! Hasbro's PR company, Hunter Public Relations (Hunter PR), has gone out of their way to spoil the people in the Transformers hobby who own the websites that bring you your daily (or hourly in some cases) doses of Transformers news and entertainment on a daily basis. I included some comparison pictures of Optimus Prime and Megatron from G1 to give all of you some scale reference just to see how big this box is. Hunter PR could've just shipped all of these products in a generic cardboard box, but instead, they transformed the box itself into a marketing device. I'm sure it caught the eyes of a few people at UPS. It certainly caught the eyes of about a dozen people while I was on my way home from UPS this evening with this giant frikkin' box (even got to hand out the ol' Seibertron.com business card a couple of times after a few conversations about the box which lead to conversations about the movie).
Here's the list of movie related items that were included in this phenomenal "press kit" (which could very well be one of the most unique collectibles that I now have in my collection):
- Lithographs of Bumblebee and Barricade that includes a special message from Joe Moscone, one of Seibertron.com's contacts at Hunter PR.
- Robot Fighters game featuring Optimus Prime and Megatron
- Optimus Prime Voice Changer - no incriminating pictures of me yet wearing the helmet but wait until after the Seibertron.com bar outting at Botcon! ;)
- "Optimash Prime" Mr. Potato Head figure
- Deluxe Class Bonecrusher and Swindle
- "Transformers: Ghost of Yesterday" Prequel Novel by Alan Dean Foster
- T-Shirt featuring Barricade's police logo
- Small projector toy that shines an image of Optimus Prime (from Basic Fun)
- An updated version of the press kit we received at Toy Fair 2007. Includes all of the press releases that have been released to date. Love this kit, glad I've got two now!
- IDW's Official Movie Prequel #3
- Decepticon movie logo magnet
- Optimus Prime "Battle Rig Blaster"
- Leader Class Megatron (The icing on the cake: I would've been thrilled if this is all that they had sent though I'm definitely happy they went beyond the call of duty so that I could promote some of these other products). And just so all of you know that I haven't been "bought out", I still think Movie Megatron sucks but that doesn't stop me from being extremely excited about the movie and some of the other high points such as Optimus Prime, Spike and the classic premise of the Chevy Camaro versus the Ford Mustang).
- 3D Battle Card Game "Sample Pack" ... looks like mine is Jetfire though I haven't opened it yet to see how this thing works yet.

And no, those aren't WSTFs ...
