I don't know about the rest of you, but I seem to be seeing more and more movies made outside of Hollywood, and not just the settings. I'm wagering the lower taxes and fees in states like Georgia where we are seeing a lot of movies being made, and in Vancouver and Montreal are making a difference. Off topic, but when they said Montreal, I was struck by how much of production has moved out of the state of California.
So now, the question every is wondering...
Will we FINALLY get an RCMP Transformer?
Posted by TulioDude on March 27th, 2021 @ 10:22am CDT
Now we just wait for the titles to be confirmed.

Same producer, no-name people attached to the project.
A Bumblebee sequel without Travis Knight, I know he didn't want to do a sequel but still, who is this other guy?
200 milion dollars only means special effects and nice locations.
I'm just going to sit here waiting for the two Cyberverse movies and enjoy the great Generation toys that have come out in the past couple of years.

The other guy directed Creed II

Who cares who's working on it?
We need movies that are good, not prioritizing "celebrity directors" or whatever, Tavis Knight didn't get much hype for directing Bumblebee but it was a good movie anyways.
I'm sure if the films are good then these directors will get the same treatment.

He got a ton of hype. He was the first ever director to make a live action film that wasn't Bay so there were a lot of eyes on him in the movie community. Plus he is the owner and head of America's premier stop motion animation studio, Laika, and the heir to the Nike fortune along with just having had his previous film nominated at the Oscars. So yeah, there was hype even if you didn't notice it.

Ok, so let's get to it:
>So, I work at Paramount Pictures as a designer for posters and other memorabilia, I create posters for them and more stuff. >Anyway, I got into some cool info about the upcoming Transformers reboot and here it is:
>You may have heard that new leak about Beast Alliance, well, it's not a beast wars movie and it has nothing to do with beast wars. Beast Alliance is just a working title, lots of movies have weird titles like this that have nothing to do with the film, Star Wars had lots of them.
>It is a heist type film like Ant Man but with Transformers, Optimus Prime and crew are stealing an artifact, no idea what it is but energon is involved. Megatron and the decepticons are in, all in G1 designs.
>Set after Bumblebee 2018 film, it acknowledges it but not the rest of Bayformers.
>New human characters: black, white and latino leads eyed.
>Possibly a black girl and a white kid are eyed as leads.
>Steven Caple Jr. understands the IP from what I saw.
>Small cast of robots, a little bigger than 2007 film. Movie emphasises on love and heart like Bumblebee rather than lore.
>Now keep in mind, I know all this stuff from some small plot lines I got to read and concept art I saw but it seems this is the direction they are going. Very Indiana Jones/Ant Man heist adventure film than previous films. I also saw a new face for Bumblebee, no idea if they will use it or not, it gave Bumblebee a mouth but the head design was similar to the previous film (Bumblebee 2018 movie) one. Robots are also thicker in the concept art.
>It's Trans on top and Formers beneath like G1 and has THE too. I think a comparision on how the marketing will be like is Thor Ragnarok. The roster of robots as I'm aware of is the following:
>Optimus Prime
>Bumblebee
>Arcee
>Ratchet
>Ironhide
>Brawn
>Wheeljack
>Cheetor
>Megatron
>Starscream
>Soundwave
>Shockwave
>Coneheads and seekers
>There might be more, it seems Cheetor is part of the film as a guardian of the artifact. I did not see his design, only for Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, Soundwave and Megatron.
>The designs are updated. They are still bulky and thicker. Very G1. Nothing like Bayverse, the Bumblebee I saw has a face with a mouth and it looks cute. Megatron looks very big, he is taller than Prime and has his fusion cannon. Starscream has a new head, very sleek and G1 and humanoid. Soundwave has a body that makes him look like he transforms into some type of van, his head is more G1 now and updated. They are more detailed overall. Megatron also has a humanoid face with the bucket helmet thing. Apparently there will be some Cybertron scenes in the film, the planet will look the same as in Bumblebee. Optimus head is the same as in Bumblebee.

Gee, I wonder what it could be?it seems Cheetor is part of the film as a guardian of the artifact.
And that list looks eerily similar to the exact same cast who all cameoed in the opening Cybertron scene of the Bumblebee movie (plus Megatron and Cheetor).

There's quite a bit of details here, like anytime a movie rumor has a full/big cast of robots attached, it makes me suspicious like one of those fan-cast rosters.
Edit: Also a 4 Chan leak which are almost always wrong, there have been some true leaks there but most of the time it's just attention seeking.

As long as this all means that "Bumblebee" is the start of a new series so that I can treat the original trilogy as a separate entity (and continue suppressing TLK), I'll be happy. Similarities are fine and to be expected, but I hope the film doesn't feel obliged to adhere to the 2007 trilogy's timeline. Here's hoping for some great new stories to come.

especially with starscream and megatron
i just hope the movie doesnt suck

Regardless of my opinion on designs however, if they can translate the designs well, and get good looking trailers out, this sounds interesting. Hopefully if they hire Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, they actually treat them well this time

It would make some sense to use them since they already have the models worked up in the computer systems. I would assume that would save them a lot of money right there.

Most of those designs would need to be heavily altered or changed entirely, take a closer look at the designs from Bumblebee, the only ones that look like they could transform to any type of convincing Earth vehicle with small edits are the ones that were designed as Earth-like vehicles first before the Cybertron sequence was even conceived which would be Optimus, Bumblebee, Shatter, Dropkick, Starscream/Blitzwing/Seekers.
The rest of the designs were "kitbashed" using these already existing models such as Shatter into Arcee, Bumblebee into Brawn or Optimus into Shockwave/Soundwave and quickly made in a few weeks, their not polished designs for main character roles. (Brawn, Shockwave and Soundwave are the worst in this regard, there's almost nothing about them that looks like they could transform, almost to the level of AOE Galvatron who had the point that they didn't transform traditionally anyways.)
The Earth mode versions would need to be almost entirely new designs bar things like head/hands/feet presuming they were not integrated with any vehicle parts, so the existing assets excuse only helps to a pretty minor extent.

That, or just non-traditional altmodes? Akin to the Sunbow MTMTE pilot.

I mean that as in they literally can't transform due to not having the panels or parts needed to transform.
Look at Brawn
There's not a part of him that looks like it could change, he looks like a terminator wearing armor.
It's not a transformable design much like Shockwave and Soundwave.

Not everything in Transformers has to be a vehicle.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:I dunno, at a glance I could see his legs combining. Swinging up via the silver strip on his chest and creating a turret. With his arms as stability struts.
Not everything in Transformers has to be a vehicle.
Because a Cybertronian turret is a perfect disguise for Earth, when has a G1 inspired Brawn (the point of the designs) ever transform into something that wasn't a truck-like vehicle?
The point is that these designs were not created to ever transform and it shows, their rushed designs and are unlikely to be used as the base for the next movie besides small parts like heads and hands, if the characters show up the designs will likely be new even if they are equally as G1 inspired.

Plus, it doesn't matter what they looked like on Cybertron really. Rushed or otherwise. If they wanted these designs to transform in the BB movie, they would have regardless.

Right and I'm just saying it doesn't matter if the Bumblebee designs existed to be used for the next movie if their not going to use much of anything from those designs, so it's almost exactly the same as if they were to make a Jazz design straight up from the grounds for the next movie, it would require almost the same amount of work.

If his 2007 toy is any indicator, it's a really awkward robot mode.
Always thought the legends sized one did the job better.
Scorponok was one of the coolest characters/concepts in the films, we won't likely have anything like him again sadly, loved the "horror" type vibe in his earlier scenes.

I suppose it depends on how seriously you take them. They are popcorn movies, fun for what they are, nothing more. As a fandom, we just have an emotional attachment to the IPO.
That Scorponok was fantastic. Scorpy vs A-10s is a scene I will remember. I was sitting next to my brother, a former Marine who saw combat in Iraq, during that fight. They must have used some military-accurate terminology because when they started throwing around the reference for Strike Package Bravo, I heard him say under his breath "Oh sh!t, here it comes..." The grin on his face was priceless. The topper on that scene was Steve Jablonsky's scoring...that music elevated the scene dramatically IMHO.

The report also states that Anthony has been firmly in the sights for the role from the moment Caple joined the movie. If everything is finalised, it's expected that he will do co-star chemistry tests when more casting is confirmed.
This movie is expected to be the first of four scripts to be completed, with a date set for next year. It currently has the working title of Beast Alliance.
What do you think of this casting news? Excited to see what Anthony will bring to the table and how he'll interact with the Autobots?

I see. I was curious. From what has been said of his theatre background, it might lend itself more to voice work than onscreen acting. Like a Jazz, Blurr, Wheelie or Wreck-Gar.

Nah, definitely human lead from whats been said elsewhere as supposedly, Optimus Prime helps him find the right path. I'm thinking he'll be a bit like Ant Man from the MCU, just instead of Michael Sheen, you have a giant robot that turns into a truck.

Thanks to the fine folk over at TFW2005, and in particular, the user Black Convoy, we have what he said translated, and he made some interesting comments about his movie:
Mr. Soto stated that the premises of his new Transformers movie will take place outside of United States. The story does not involve the military.
The plot is stated to be completely outside of the Bayverse.
Additionally, the director described the inception of the movie in question. He got the call from Paramount after the 2020 Sundance Film Festival where he showcased Charm City Kings. The Los Angeles production company expressed their interest to make a new and different Transformers project with him. Angel Manuel Soto personally pitched the idea to Paramount & Hasbro. The two companies liked the idea and gave a greenlight.
The Soto Transformers Project is still in an earlier stage than the upcoming DC Blue Beetle movie (also directed by Angel Manuel Soto).
The director is planning to humanize the Transformers characters on his movie (personality-wise and not design-wise). He want the robots to speak like us, in a natural way. That’s the way he remembers Transformers and the reason we felt identified with the original Transformers. He believes that when you humanize the characters, you get closer to them, love them. When there’s a human approach, you create a connection with them. If not, they are just lifeless robots.
Angel Manuel Soto is surprised to see all the reaction of fans about him directing this movie. He doesn’t want to let anybody down. While he can’t speak much details, he says that the budget is over 50 milliion dollars and it’s a challenge to manage it. He really wants to bring as much of the movie as he can to Puerto Rico.
Elsewhere, Mr. Soto stated that he always wanted to make a movie on Transformers; which he enjoyed during his childhood. Growing up, his father struggled to provide for his family but bought him Transformers toys which he loved and cherished.
Are you intrigued about this movie, knowing these tidbits?

This sounds way too vague, you could describe any of the new Transformers projects like that.
