The Wreck N Rule line is an odd duck. It uses characters that were all part of a Wreckers team at some point but many of these releases get a deco referencing something else. Today's reveal is Bulkhead, who was a wrecker in the Prime cartoon. His deco, however, references movie Hound which does have a similar alt mode in camo deco in Age of Extinction, though not as bright.
Interestingly enough, the toy comes with an extra accessory, a small hammer, which Breakdown had in the Transformers Prime show.

Man at least you still expected Bulkhead. Other fans out there were hoping for a redeco of the Bulkhead mold into a G1 Pyro. And well, Wolfmanjake already used my line about hope. It held true!!!!!!
I wasn't sure what it was going to be, but I did think it would at least be a new character, not just bulkhead with a little Camo...oh well, this is an easy pass.
Also WJ thanks for the previous pointing out of the boxes for this collection. For some reason I thought they were all the same size. Top one is definitely smaller. It makes sense unfortunately. I hope we do get a Diaclone Topspin down the line at some point though.

The leaks said “bulkhead repaint” and that’s exactly what it is. New characters like say the Fractyl figure is leaked as fractyl not “terrorsaur repaint” or leadfoot as leadfoot and not “mirage repaint” anyone who expected pyro or anything else that wasn’t a repaint of bulkhead can blame themselves for overhyping it and drawing conclusions that just weren’t there.

Nah, Pyro would need a retooled version of the mold. More like a Partsformer...
People werent asking for a perfect recreation of Pyro, they wanted that old hat temporary gap filler figure which is a redeco of G1 character based on a mold with a similar alt mode.
And, considering what we got here instead, it's not like that would have been a worse outcome/idea, and it would have been Wrecker related.
Anyways, out of all the exclusive Amazon lines we got so far, starting back in WFC, this is the worst, as a whole. The golden disk line was pretty fun. But I do find the fossilizers very very cool (not much else though and they are stuck in two packs).
BUT
It does make it so that no key character is an exclusive. While these toys don't interest me much, I much preffer the outcome of my buying less than me wanting these and there not being enough made (or them being restricted through exclusive status). That Earthrise Amazon exclusive line was rather egregious, with having MAIN characters not only be exclusive but also not being made in enough numbers, making us all doubt our Amazon preorders from here on out.

Thanks for the heads up! Rural life is awesome...I see deer, fox, bald eagles, turkeys, bears, and wolves all the time, but the closest store with any kind of decent Transformers selection is 90 plus minutes away so I've been waiting for it to pop up on Amazon. It had said July 1st for release. Obviously that changed.

I've said it in the past...repaints are the wimp's way out. The problem is that Hasbro has figured out that Transfans aren't the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree and that they will snap up just about any repaint as long as there is a good backstory or something relating directly to G1 lore (*cough* *Seekers* *cough*). Is this line worth it? It it even really a "Wreckers" team? Eye of the beholder...but until we stop simply snapping up repaints, HasTak is going to continue to be LAZY and not really give us anything new or creative.
I think you're looking at it from the wrong angle.
Yes, redecos are cheap to do, that's one reason they're usually reserved for store exclusives with new molds restricted to main lines, and exclusives are when they're listening more closely to the fans while working within the limits they imposed on themselves. It's not that we're not the brightest bulbs (not entirely anyway), but more that we're mostly opportunists who'll grab anything that may not appear again for a long time, playing into our FOMO emotions, but it's also a way of showing appreciation for digging that deep into the brand's history as a whole.
Whole new molds as a store exclusive? It's been done, but as WFC Netflix Soundwave has shown it's more of a hassle in the long run due to the exclusivity of the molds in question staying with that store for god knows how many years, leading to more fan boy complaint than usual. Yeah, it'll always be there*, but in Soundwave's case it may be more than Hasbro is willing to deal with.
So... Does this mean the whole line have been revealed now? Where's Topspin?!!!

Very well said. I'm committed to Leadfoot and Twin Twist. The others I preordered to get on the list, but I might not go through with it since Velocitron seems to be more of my interest with Black Convoy (perhaps the wimpiest way out of all repaints?) and Cosmos.

But the figure actually looks pretty good in the other photos. The head matches the body and the camo is more subtle, guess ill be getting this version after all!

The bright camo and metallic head looked disgusting
But from the actual product shots I love the darker green because its closer to animated and the camo looks pretty cool. Plus no energon gun and a hammer. Already preordered

assuming they have no plans for a topspin, then yes, terribad idea. But releasing twintwist through Amazon and maybe later topspin through selects, getting to charge full price for two molds that are just repaints, now that makes financial sense. They KNOW total suckers, like me, would be dumb and blow their cash to get both. gotta recoup them thar remolded bits on them boney bots somewhere.

Even if the retooled bits are only that hammer and Impactor's head and chest as Leadfoot's head is seemingly built in?

Oh, and a Bulkhead repaint.
I actually like this color scheme. I almost wish I had waited for this instead, but seeing it in store was too much of a lure.
As it stands now, Leadfoot is the only preorder I have in. I might go back for Impactor on Amazon. But a must have he is not. I have not decided on Twin Twist yet either

They could have gone the BAF route and given us Emirate Xaaron, but no, we get a hammer.
And a dodgy looking Bulkhead.
I have yet to buy any Fossilizers and this was a good chance to pick up a couple, but why would I want to own a Leadfoot without the rest of the Rotor Force? Once again, Hasbro not giving a full team.
meh.

The fact people keep making these observations just proves to me why this mold doesn't work for Prime Bulkhead, and the military camo he never used really doesn't help. Was it really that hard to give him a truck mode? Or just call it Animated Bulkhead at least?
Honestly, if not for the hammer ("which one?" yes), probably way out of my radar.
As for Twin Twist, I'm a bit disappointed we're still getting a Headmaster for a character that never was a Headmaster in fiction before TR. Then again, if any deco deserves a miniature pilot for vehicle mode, it's the Diaclone one.
On another note, apparently Spindle's chestpiece and Masterdominus' mammoth head combine into a new combiner head. So, figuring out another combiner with these two will be fun!

For me, the Legacy mold don't represent any previous "Bulkheads". He needs to me more "fat" to fit any of those previous roles. The repaint will be my "true" Generations G1 AoE/TlK Hound. I'll be waiting for an accessory kit with an alternate head and a couple of guns to make it perfect.

What about "Mudbuster".
Named after the cancelled Animated Bulkhead redeco that this kind of sorta maybe also looks like. Lighter shade of green with black. But instead of the camo, it was supposed to have yellow caution stripes. Shame this Wrecker Bulkhead doesn't have black on his head like others are saying as it would've looked even more like Animated Mudbuster Bulkhead as well as Movieverse Hound.

A cardboard hammer so extra plastic was never on the table here. The only figure that got an extra accessory is Bulkhead because I guess someone needed to come with a hammer. Personally I was hoping someone would come with a green Battlemaster Doublecrosser as Rack'n'Ruin. Feels like a real missed opportunity. They were in Cyberverse and got a rather big figure there so it's not like it would have been a stretch. They just would have been tiny, but that didn't stop them from making Rung.
Hey, Burn, there's your Emirate Xaaron.
MaximalNui wrote:On another note, apparently Spindle's chestpiece and Masterdominus' mammoth head combine into a new combiner head. So, figuring out another combiner with these two will be fun!
That's really cool!! Always that part looked like a mask. Hasbro seems to be aware that fans are making bigger and bigger combinations from all the Fossilizers and we could use a bigger head to top them off. The extra head on Wingfinger only works so far.
DeathReviews wrote:Eh. "Thrilling 30" Springer is still the better figure overall. AND it was the foundation for Sandstorm, one of the best Voyagers of all time....
I really don't like that figure, at all. To me it's a different yellow Triplechanger that doesn't resemble Sandstorm in the slightest and his car mode would probably break if one of those big tires hit a bump at high speed. We really need a proper redo of the guy.

Unwanted fluff for you, maybe. Fossilizers are the main draw for some.
I doubt it in those two packs as it's obviously the G1/G2 figs that are the main figures, with the fossilizers tacked-on. They're like chalk and cheese. They would be much better suited being colour coordinated to go with a BW figure instead, IMO.
