I liked bayformers but always thought they had a lot of loopholes that needed fixing.

I know TF fiction makes paleontologists cry every time dinosaurs get involved, but all the extra spikes and especially the "hooks" on his chin and his sharp teeth really make me hate his design. That's not even remotely close to what a Triceratops looks like!

...He says while permitting the existence of a two-headed pterodactyl dragon thing.

That was funny way better than the movie. I miss you Oreo-bot.

Wasnt a big fan either, but I did like the Oreo Bot segment a lot. And how they would reffer back to previous things later. I didnt care for the name change at all though. I thought it was in reference to how the decepticons morphed rather than transformed but they keep showing the legit transformers instead so I dont get it.

Its obvious

Three small scout/deluxe sized robots and each of them turns into a third of a Voyager sized garbage truck like one would be the front/cab, one would be the middle and the last one would be the end

Cause i ain't laughing and that's not from me liking the films but this is rather not funny although the Oreo-Bot was ok the rest was boring.

I just stopped watching the video when that third song had those stupid fart noises do people outside of 5 year olds even find fart jokes funny?

I wasnt referring to that. I meant how can they transform like they did in the film? They cant, unless you make them all shellformers with retractable backpacks.

Honestly I'd be happy for them to take some artistic liberty with the designs to give them workable transformations. I'd also like them to return to ROTF level toy engineering though, so my ambitions are a little high.

I dunno, Junkheap seems like a great idea for a Decepticon. I'd be happy if they just made him 1 huge robot like his brief appearance in DotM if it gave us a great figure. I collect the toys to get awesome toys rather than for a "true" representation of the on-screen character (although if they can give us a good representation of the character whilst still making an awesome toy- like ROTF Optimus Prime- then all the better!).

Of course they aren't going to transform like that and you know they do have vehicle parts on them

And plus the line already has shellformers

Yes he has. In three places:
  • The Fallen's profile in the Titan UK Transformers Comic issue 2.3
  • IDW's "Tales of the Fallen" issue #4
  • IDW's "Foundation" issues #1 and #2
The latter two are part of the main Movieverse continuity, while the former is part of the Titan UK version of the Movieverse continuity.

Bay, Kruger and the producers have never addressed the comic fiction. Hasbro may say it's canon, but as the movies go, it isn't, so technically Primus hasn't been "officially" mentioned in the movieverse.

EDIT: Wow, both the honest trailer and the "fix" video were incredibly disappointing. There were barely any genuine laughs, except the spine song (great work, btw, John!) and Cena's theme when Earth blew up. The rest of it was unfunny pointless drivel that was aimed at stuff that's been nitpicked apart before, over and over. Really disappointing, and the honest trailer couldn't even get their crap accurate or honest, ironically enough.

Thu horse has been dead for quite some time, the boned are now dust from all the beatings. Give it a rest for a bit, will ya? Ugh.

There's more to the movieverse than just the movies themselves. And since it's obvious that the movies themselves don't give a care about their own continuity, why should we discredit all other external media that DOES care enough to rationalize and re-piece together the Movieverse? Just because they aren't the movies? That sounds pretty silly to me, discrediting the works that put effort into making things fit while only accepting the works with the more shoddily-crafted continuity.

The only point I'm trying to make is that I don't think the comics and novels make up or bad writing by Kruger, Kurtzman, or Orci. It doesn't seem logical to say "The plotholes are explained by the comics, therefore the movies are not poorly written."

That's not what I'm saying (though, I can't vouch for others who might indeed believe this). What I am saying is that the continuity of the movieverse extends beyond the just the films themselves, and if there is available media out there that is willing to try to deliver to the fans what the movies failed to bring on their own, then I see no reason to toss it all aside and only accept the more poorly-written stuff as being relevant.

I just rewatched AOE in full HD and I must say: It was a great experience. If you ignore that some Transformers, including Optimus and Galvatron are looking cheap, it is really good movie in term of visuals. The most impresive part is the beggining of the movie, scene with Dinosaurs is epic.

Plus I noticed without any problems that red car sliced in half by Galvatron had no human inside him, so maybe this red card REALLY was an Autobot, and that means, that Galvatron killed a Cybertronian in AOE (witch is good) :D

It is funny that there is still discuss about something as obvious, as Bayformers had a lot of plot holes.

I noticed something funny the last time I watched this movie.

In the scene where Cade is trying to help Optimus fight Lockdown, you can see another man in the shot for just a few frames. You see his hand for a split second as Cade shoots at Lockdown, then Lockdown returns fire. Right before the explosion, you can see him standing next to Cade.

Wonder who he was and what he was doing there? lol

I find it rather rude that you just discredit what I have to say because it suits you. That's not cool and doesn't create a good basis for discussion. It should also be noted that I never said I agree with it, just that that's how it seems to be.

No one, most certainly not me, said anything about us tossing the comics aside, just that those behind the films seemingly have.

It extends outward for Hasbro and the fans, yes, but the writers, producers and director seem to be ignoring it, Not saying we have to, but you have to accept the fact that just because something shows up in comics based on the movies or the movieverse, doesn't mean it is official canon or will be used or acknowledged. Once you can come to terms with that fact, you'll be able to handle it better. Do the comics have something to offer? Sure. Doesn't mean much of anything in the long run. If you still want to enjoy the comics, that's great, just don't expect miracles. Bay and co. don't seem to care, and it's not worth getting upset over. Just don't give them anymore of your money if it's that important to you.

Here's something that hasn't been mentioned.

Ya'll know that whole "Knights' Terminus" thing Lockdown was talking about? Turns out what he really said was "Welcome back to the Knights' Temenos."

And he might not have been speaking of the ship as a whole, but of the inner sanctuary that Lockdown has imprisoned Optimus and the other Knights within, which Prime said Lockdown had disgraced.

So what are we to call Lockdown's ship, then? I guess "the Knight ship" will do for the time being, since Prime did refer to it as "this Knight ship" and Lockdown did say it was a ship used by the Knights.

DVD subtitles.

And in context, it makes sense. A temenos is usually a place set aside as a sanctum or place of holiness and/or reverence, which fits well with the dialogue between Lockdown and Optimus:
Lockdown: “Welcome back to the Knights’ Temenos, Prime!”

Optimus: “You have disgraced it.”

Lockdown: “Join your fellow rebels, fugitive scum. It’s for the rarest of specimens, the worst of the worst.”
What was once a sacred place within the ship is now used to hold monsters and other horrors that Lockdown has captured, and the worst ones at that. Sounds pretty disgraceful, indeed.

Also, this image from Figure King #201 shows a look at the new Armor Knight Optimus Prime figure:
Image

Within the black text box to the right of the figure are eight little notes that each pertain to a corresponding numbered image below and/or to the left of the text box. #5 refers to the figure's weapons, and names the new sword that comes with the toy テメノスソード, which Romanizes out to "Temenosu Soodo", which in English would be "Temenos Sword".

The word "Terminus" in Katakana would be ターミナス, which in Romaji would be "Taaminasu". But the sword is labeled as テメノス or "Temenosu", leaving further credence to the Greek "Temenos" used in the DVD subtitles.

CHUGWAY!!!!

But seriously, though, even before I watched the DVD with the subtitles turned on, it did sound like "temenos". At first I thought it might have been just some residual accent the VA had--maybe English wasn't his first language or something, like in Ken Watanabe's case.

I originally had preordered this set but cancelled right before it was shipped. I came to my senses after considering the 79.99 price point. By chance I was on Amazon tonight and saw it listed at 29.99. That works for me. 19.99 for the blu-ray and 10.00 for the statue, or vice versa, that's a price a fan can't pass up :BOT:

I finally got mine and is just amazing, so I am dropping couple pictures here. the blu ray dvd has different cover presentation for the 3 figurines pack promotion and the grimlock-optimus set, besides the content is identical, and the statue is huge making more sense with bumblebee and stinger rather than optimus from the 3 figurines set. :KREMZEEK:

1: It has ONE (1) central story, and minor sub-plots that mesh almost flawlessly with that story.

2: It had the best Decepticon characters in any of the movies. Including the single best introduction scene of any of the movies.

3: Unlike the other movies, where they have a huge amount of funding for their CGI, the first film can get away with having a lot of humans in it because it costs a lot of money to animate a CGI model with tens of thousands of moving parts.

4: It had Decepticons instead of Vehicons.

Now, there are still MANY things that AoE does much better than the first film.

1: There's lots more focus on the actual stars of the film.

2: The Autobots are actually interesting characters. Even Bumblebee, I liked Bumblebee in this movie more than the others.

3: The other Autobots are confirmed dead. Including Wheelie, the Twins, and Jolt.

4: Drift. I love this version of Drift.

5: Crosshairs is Rattrap. Watch the movie again and watch some Beast Wars scenes with Rattrap in them. Seriously.

I'll be honest, this is all personal opinion. AoE is crap, the 2007 movie is also crap. In reality though, that's what these movies were always going to be. And I think it's getting to the point where we can't blame JUST Michael Bay and the writers, but we have to blame Hasbro too, and the production company, because they're the ones who okay all of this stuff.

Well... they're more characters in the first movie than they were in any movie after!

And I thought they were called Vehicons in AoE? Where the hell did I hear that then? Eh, either way, they sure as hell aren't Decepticons. Galvatron.

More like "monsters" than "characters".

But then, that's pretty much the standard for the Decepticons of these movies. Savages instead of people.

I also like how, at the time of the first one, Optimus Prime hadn't yet devolved into the bloodthirsty, face-stealing psychopath we now know him as.

The kids seem to like him though, and for Hasbro, thats the important thing.

That's pretty darned cool! Nice catch!

I might need to get this set for myself, just for the figurine...

Yeah, he hadn't quite gotten to taking faces yet, taking the whole of Bonecrusher's head off instead.

By ROTF, he settled for just the faces. :P

It's not a question of the method of killing, it's the question of frequency. You are what you repeatedly do. In the first one, Optimus decapitated but one Decepticon. In ROTF, he split Grindor's head in half, and also took off The Fallen's face. In DOTM, he brutally murdered a weakened Megatron and defenseless Sentinel Prime, both of whom ought to have been either taken prisoner or exiled. In AoE, he goes full berserk. He tears through a human facility with little to no regard for its workers, destroys thousands of dollars worth of research in the process, and ultimately holds up one of the higher-ranking employees at gunpoint. He then proceeds to storm savage Dinobots through Hong Kong and then set them loose on the world, which is supposed to be a happy ending but actually has horrifying implications.

Starting to see my point yet? This guy's slagging scary.
