oh, wait.
Who wants to bet this guy comes screaming out of the Botcon set commanding a hefty $15-20 price tag wherever he goes? $10? Maybe?
I was really hoping for a purple helmet and remolded face. Without either, this guy bores me.
EDIT: I don't know about anybody else, but when I look at Bugbite, I hear the "One of these kids is not like the others" song from Sesame Street.

I think this is the only one of the set I actually care for, mainly because it's not a character we've seen done to death like the seeker repaints.
Love the purple decals!

Now then... which classics molds have they yet to reuse for the "must be there to spend too much money on" exclusives? I suppose they'll most likely be Autobots though to maybe balance things back out.

Shame I wont be getting him...
Posted by Ultra Prime on April 30th, 2007 @ 5:43pm CDT
I'm on the Dreadwing/Dreadwind = Jetfire bandwagon myself. It would certainly fit appropriately with the Decepticon airforce and rumor of one of the exclusives being a voyager size figure.
If Dreadwing is the Jetfire mold then that might make it up to some people for the absolutely crappy distribution of Jetfire. Of course I have Jetfire so that would be sinply a bonus for me!
Anyways Bubite looks awesome in my book!

Grimlock, Mirage, Hotrod, Astrotrain & Megs have not gotten the repaint treatment yet (Assuming Dreadwing is the Jetfire mold). So the question is will any of those figures be the mystery figure(s)? Or will folks lucky enough to be able to go get treated to a real suprise and end up with Classics Sunstorm?

How would sunstorm be counted as a treat?
He's not even a real charecter.

Bugbite looks excellent! He's the first one of the bunch I'm tempted to keep. Fear the evil hatchback!

Interesting...
Posted by CyberTooth on April 30th, 2007 @ 6:08pm CDT
I had my own train of thought but it died when I ran outta molds. Nothing new I suspect.
Prime-Motormaster
Mirage-Dragstrip
Hotrod-Breakdown
But as I said, I ran dry at Deadend and Wildrider.
And besides, if they don't combine they really lose their charm.

It looks like his body is molded in white, but his head in another color and then white paint applied.

My least favourite of the Botcon molds we have seen, but I am happy to see that he does not have any of Thundercracker's blue paint on him anywhere.

He's not? He was the main villain in some of the Dreamworks comics. He has a slew of toys. And yes, he even has a brief cartoon appearance.

I'm still going to order an away package, but this has got to be the worst figure I have ever seen. We have pages and pages of how much Dirge sucks because they didn't make 'prper' wings for him, and this load of junk doesn't have a remolded anything, and must be the cheapest look Exclusive figure I've ever seen. I mean, I try not to be as negative as many when repaints and stuff come out and I try to not be so dour about Hasbro and stuff, but considering that somebody found fault with the Botcon Thrust because he had the big Ramjet bombs instead of null rays, I find it hard to believe that this thing with its scribble-y 'paint' job is going to be so well recieved in light of so many people thinking that the Seekers stink for some reason.
Oh well, I like the rest of the set, but this figure blows. Still gonna try an' order me a set though

Considering that comic cover we saw, I don't think we're going to see Classics repainted for the con-exclusive figures. Ultra Magnus (already released) was shown leading a squad of Cybertron-repaints: Springer from C.D.Hotshot, Huffer from Armorhide, and Elita-One from Thunderblast. C-Grimlock and some of the Classics-Minicons were also shown.

Which is why I hate Sunstorm. He's a overpowered character with very little depth to him. Though I do love orange on TFs so he always leaves me enjoying the look of his figures but still hating them.

It's a shame this wasn't an 'all or nothing' boxset. Having 3 characters that matter with 2 that mean exactly squat is what makes it a hard pill to swallow.

Regardless of what they do with the Dreadwind figure, he'll still just be a bigger space-filler than lil' Bugbite is since neither of those characters mean anything to G1 or the Classics as we know them.

Dreadwind is a G1 character though. He didn't appear in the G1 toonof course, but he was in the Marvel comics.

And real enough of a character to everyone else that I hear constsnt cry to have classic figure made for him.

Yeah I know who Dreadwind is - a Decepticon Powermaster jet that combined with Darkwing (or whatever his name was). My point is that he was such a secondary background character compared to the current crop of Classics that his appearance in this boxset is entirely for the sake of filling some space. Fact is that they are reaching with this Jetfire repaint, and Dreadwind happened to be the name they chose for it. Even repainting & slightly remolding Rodimus into Sideswipe or whoever else would have made a lot more sense imo... even though I don't necessarily agree with it. At least that's keeping with some sort of theme, whereas Bugbite & Dreadwind are purely filler for the sake of adding more Cons to the mix.
That's all I meant :)

I disagree about him being "such a secondary character" - Dreadwind wasn't just in the comics, he was in the comics quite a lot. Probably more than Astrotrain. And heck, assuming they only used Classics molds, you know the other possible choices would have been just as obscure.
Nevertheless, he is almost pointless without his drinking buddy Darkwing and I agree he is mostly in there to fill space.
