I'm not liking how Skids' shoulders don't appear to have an outward joint on his arms.
So Doubledealer will be advertised as a Decepticon. Wonder how they'll explain the blatant Autobot badge on the tank mode.
So it looks like the projected release for the Legends is October of this year, and the rest of 'em in January 2014.
I'm really excited for all the Generations toys revealed today!

Looks like Rhinox is wearing quite the backpack. Oh well. Suppose it has to go somewhere and better it be on his back than have massive pieces of rhino hide hanging off his waist.
And WASPINATOR! He looks incredible. I can't properly express with words how much I want him.

Trikeboy wrote:I never saw them until today and I can already tell some are mistransformed.
Ones I immediately caught were Waspinator's freakishly thin abdomen in robot mode, Dreadwing's droopy shoulders, Goldfire's awkward shoulder placements, Skids (nothing to even say there), Doubledealer's "I need to go potty" legs and partially untransformed tank. Looks like the only ones they got right was Rhinox and the Legends figures.

In G1 he was officially put in the Decepticon faction as well, but in fiction he's a mercenary who picks no side. Kinda weird btw as G1 Doubledealer has two "Robot Modes", a regular one for Autobot and a beast mode for Decepticon. How will they do that for this DD?

Probably what's going to go down is that when he's posing as an Autobot, he uses the tank exclusively, but when he poses as a Decepticon, he uses the jet exclusively. Seems to make sense.

Some use of Blitzwing's face-changing gimmick may come into play. The Autobot face is what you see here, and the Decepticon face is the Autobot face with a Snively 'stache.
The third face is a kicked puppy because Hot Rod hurt his feelings.

But in all seriousness, the head doesn't appear to support a face-changing gimmick. Fine with me: I don't like it at all anyway.

I like the execution on DDealer. Couple wishes. Give his wings feather looking (and totally unrealistic) paint to add to the homage and make a big cannon projectile that looks like DDs cannon of old.
Love the idea from above that he would keep the face changing gimmick go Blitzwing. Too bad it probably isn't happening.
The mistransformations are BAD. And yet I think it's an inside joke now, possibly.

Skids is pretty cool too. Don't mess with him, he's a theoretician, man!
I'd really have preferred them give that repaint to Beast Hunters Predaking, so we could have had a Goldar lookalike be a bit more accurate, without the faceplate, he's not Goldbug to me, although I suspect it will at least be comic accurate, given events in the last issue.
Doubledealer is no Flywheels, but he'll do probably. If I hear that they've fixed the issues with the Blizwing mold (same as they did with Sandstorm locking together in alt mode much better than Springer).
Cosmos and Swerve will be getting bought. I hope they repaint Swerve's wee buddy to be the Groundshaker plane as well. He's perfect for that.
Posted by necr0blivion on June 29th, 2013 @ 6:57pm CDT
Doubledealer was a surprise, but from these pictures it looks like the mold still suffers the problems with Blitzwing: nose-cone doesn't fit in properly in jet mode and shoulder doesn't pop in all the way in robot-mode. Is it too late to tell Hasbro about these issues, or do they even care?

I think he'd make a nice Crankcase.

WHOA.
Those look flipping awesome. Like, I love that Swerve, and I can't wait to see more of Cosmos. Not to mention Waspinator! Waspy's been getting quite a bit of attention recently, eh?
Also, Doubledealer. He was backstabbing people since before Sideways! It's great to see that the has finally gained a bit of attention.

Yet nothing has been said that he, Flanker, Groundpounder, and Reflector transform into weapons (at least, not that I'm aware of).

I think these are more of the Legion types of Optimus/Roller, Bumblebee/Chopper-I-cannot-remember-the-name-of, Megatron/Venom-or-Chop-Shop?, and Starscream/Waspinator. So, possibly a weapon look, or maybe just mountable on the figures like Cosmos.

Blazemaster. You're thinking of Blazemaster. Also, it's Chop Shop that comes with Megatron.
That's what I was getting at: Micromaster homages that transform into weapons for these larger figures.
There doesn't seem to be any ports that they can plug into on their larger partners' vehicle modes.

Overall, most look pretty good. Like most people, I can do without all the repaints, BUT we all know Hasbro has to get the most bang for their buck... I will admit, unlike many of my G1 contemporaries, that too often we forget how many repaints were thrown around back in the day ...Hell 90% of what's now called G2 were straight up repaints of G1 lol
Anyways, here is my ONE complaint...Why the "F" do we get a Swerve instead of Gears?!? I can only hope that Gears comes up as a repaint, but we're celebrating 30 years, lets honor the first ones to pop up!!

T-Macksimus wrote:Not happy that Skids isn't a bit closer to his G1 incarnation. That could have at least made him some stylized Cybertronian SUV like (Universal Studios Exclusive) Deluxe Evac but this isn't going to stop me from snagging him.
You know....technically, this Skids is a LOT closer to his original G1 toy incarnation. His toy altmode is a Honda City Turbo, which is a subcompact hatchback, similar in size to a Honda Fit, Ford Fiesta, etc. I've read that he was portrayed with a minivan-ish altmode in the G1 comics because more people would recognize a minivan (which were brand new then) than a subcompact hatch, which even now are far more popular in Japan. In real life, Skids' altmode is about the same size as Bumblebee's. But we all know how great G1 was with scale
But I get what you mean. I grew up reading the comics, and even now, I go a little geewun on things that are supposed homages or updated versions of characters I grew up with. Trailbreaker/Trailcutter's robot mode for his new deluxe being a good example. It has the right colors, but not in the right proportions, and he should have a red visor instead of blue goggles. But I'll probably buy him anyway.

I am guessing Swerve was done b/c he has a lot of facetime in the IDW comics. I am sure Gears will be a repaint.
Personally, I like this Swerve 10 time better than iGear's version.

Unless Doubledealer gets the same level of retooling as Sandstorm I'll be passing as well. They did something great with Sandstorm then dropped this half arsed thing on us shortly afterwards, typical HasbroStormrider wrote:Evil_the_Nub wrote:I'm pretty disappointed with Doubledealer. They should've kept the face swapping gimmick. He could've switched between a robot face and a bird face depending on which side he was working for.

I can understand why they wouldn't make Double Dealers' flight mode more raptor-like, more bird-of-prey-like, as it was in G1, because they already have the mold like this and they aren't going to change it. However, I agree, giving the wings a feathery appearance and instead of a shark face on the nose, go with a bird-of-prey's hooked beak. Of course, this just opens the door for www.Reprolabels.com to step in and give us the bird labels it will surely need.

When has Hasbro ever listened to us commoners on such issues? But surely by now they are aware of the shoulders-not-locking-into-place issue and have addressed it before they release Double Dealer.

Skids looks great, comic-accurate enough, I just hope it's not so tiny and "full of hollow" as recent Generations/FoC releases. I didn't buy a single official figure this year because of that

Am I the only one that thinks that Doubledealer would have made a better repaint as Overlord, just paint the jet black?
