Sure he's number 1 but the lack of good ones leaves me with Energon Shockwave at 5 and I would rather wait for these to come out before publishing that list.

A new Nightbeat would be lovely... though I'm very surprised at Nightbeat, Apeface and Snapdragon getting full figures. Makes me wonder what the point of releasing them as Titan Masters was.
Deathsaurus is a lovely surprise, especially considering he might be gaining some prominence very soon in IDW...

william-james88 wrote:Autobot N has once again found an interesting photo on facebook which breaks down the upcoming Titans Return toys coming out in 2017. While we were already aware of all these toys coming out, this now tells us which ones are Titan Masters, Deluxes, Leaders and Legends. For instance it is now confirmed that TR Arcee is simply a Titan Master, same with Grotesque, Battletrap, Ranger and Hosehead. While the image does not break down the waves, the first 4 are all of the next wave and thus we can assume that the rest follow in order. Knowing that we broke it down for you below. The order of release may not be the same next year but we now know which classes these are all found in.
I think it's very likely that some of the ones that are "only Titan Masters" will eventually be released somewhere with a body from another line retooled to accommodate the head. I think it's also possible that these could account for some of the gaps in our knowledge.
The reason why, say, we know 13 of 16 deluxes would be because the leak might be with someone who would know or work around the designs for new bodies.
The other 3 could well be bodies from other lines or, say, farmed out to Takara or another team for retooling.
If it's Adventure RiD Grimlock with the G1 Dinomode head and a Titan port in robot mode, maybe it wouldn't be part of the list that's leaking?
Likewise if Arcee is just a new TM going on the existing CHUG Arcee body with a nick port retooled in.
What a person has access to could be a function of what needs to be done.
For instance, if the leak is coming from someone who does box art, maybe Hasbro wouldn't need new box art for Arcee or Grimlock. Hm. Legends scale Rodimus used stock art of G1 Rodimus right? And that one DIDN'T get leaked?
I mean, it influences how we can interpret this if the leak comes from, say, someone who works in the supply chain for trading card artwork, say someone whose job is to organize which freelancers are doing which cards. Because then we could infer that the "missing" slots are probably using fairly recent archival artwork. Which would tell us that the character in the mystery slots will be a character who has had an action figure in the last few years (at least recently enough that there's an illustration of them in the right art style if not the right mold detailing).

ouch... maybe you could do 'multi-changers of 3 modes and up, and include the new sixshot and animated shockwave, since they wouldn't be able to make any lists with just their own gimmick

So they can maybe beat out TT by having a cartoon and toy accurate head? or toy accurate and comic accurate? I don't read comics and therefore don't know if they have a presence or a different face

disappointed that shockwave isnt listed yet,(im hoping he will be a leader) arcee is a titanmaster
i dont like the idea of the boxsets.

Whats great is that I only have the pipes version of that mold so when I get this huffer, both will have different molds and headsculpts
A new Nightbeat would be lovely... though I'm very surprised at Nightbeat, Apeface and Snapdragon getting full figures. Makes me wonder what the point of releasing them as Titan Masters was.
Money. But also it gives us different heads.
Nightbeat will have that visor and we will get the animal head for apeface since we already have the robot one.

That's the thing; I can kind of understand Nightbeat due to him infamously switching heads with Hosehead back in the day and so he has two very distinct head designs... but Apeface doesn't have two face designs. The only possible thing I can think of is that the original toy's headmaster was also a triple changer - going from Robot to Robot Head to Ape Head. And hence the advantage here would be that the Titan Master would come with the Robot Head and the Voyager comes with the Ape Head... but then that means unless you get a separate toy, when you buy Apeface he's either headless or his Robot Mode head is literally an Ape Face. Oy vey.
Still, in any case; it's just a confusing situation to me and nothing more. I'm VERY happy both are happening - I don't particularly care for Apeface myself (aside from his original toy's sexy jet mode), but I'm happy for the people who wanted him

While I'm sure it's a spoiler, I'm curious who else is a candidate for the list so far
Are you including Thrilling 30 Sandstorm or do retools not count outside of a mention in the original mold's spot

Winner is a tie of Sandstorm and Springer... so far. I find they are both as good. All the G1 triplechangers, the other Gen 30 triple changers, Energon Shockwave, Animated Blitzwing, the classics triple changers (ie Tankor) were all considered, along with toys which have a robot mode and alt mode and a base mold (since Hasbro sees them as Triple changers in TR). Pretty much I am sticking to the most accepted view of what counts as a triple changer and the ones with a weak third mode are also considerd but wont make it. Like Gen Whirl, he counts too but he sure wont appear.
Here's a good list to get an idea of what might count although it hasnt been updated in a while

Going with the Blitzwing -> Megatron pre-tool and Octane -> G2 Prime pre-tool, wouldn't a Snapdragon mold likely come out as Grimlock?
I am starting to lean towards the idea that we'll be getting a Titan Master Dinobots boxed set by the end of 2017. Maybe as a Platinum?
We've got molds that could work with some retooling (or none at all, arguably) for Voyager Grimlock, Deluxe Swoop, and Deluxe Snarl.
I mean, if you want the lazy route, you just release Mindwipe in Swoop colors with the Swoop/Ptero head and Skullsmasher with Darkmoon's head.
And then say that Grimlock combines with Clobber to form a prehistoric T-rex that turns into a jet.
Meanwhile Snarl becomes a "prehistoric alligator" and Swoop/Strafe/whatever becomes a "prehistoric bat".
Ready made Platinum set.

MTMTE is probably my favourite work of fiction period atm but that doesn't stop me from being a complete psycho with it~

And if Snap Dragon reuses a mold it would be none other than Apeface's. They are both very similar in design and alt modes, right down to how the animals look standing.

Or, because this is Titans Return; take off Overlord's Titan Master and have a third party Tarn standing beside him with a chainsaw at his neck.
Hell, why not all of these at the same time? It'd be the best worst MTMTE display ever

Did you ever make a list of best base modes? Rather than include those with tripple changers, understanding Hasbro does, I think there are so many and they are so different they warrant their own list. Of course I'm not talking about city-formers. I'm talking about Super Ginrai and Overloard as well as G2 Optimus Prime's trailer and things like that, plus the new leader class Titans Return figures. Some pull of good bases some don't, and I think tripple changers for the purpose of the list should be restricted to multiple vehicle modes as there are so many of them.

Kurona wrote:I'd say that wouldn't be a great dinobot set and it'd be pretty lazy... but it'd be better than the last Platinum Dinobots set.
I think Skullcruncher and Mindwipe could be GREAT retool fodder for Snarl and Swoop. It would basically just be a Blurr/Brainstorm type retooling. But if it's a Platinum set, I figure it'd be paint only.
Speaking of, looking at pics of Snapdragon, I have this weird feeling he might ALREADY be a heavy retool of FoC Grimlock or TAV Grimlock. The basics are there. New legs and a filled in gut in dino mode.
It's a T-rex with legs that become arms. Arms become legs. The head flips behind. Engineering wise and size wise, Snapdragon works as a heavy retool of the FoC/TAV Grimlocks. I almost can't imagine they'd pass that up.

I have not yet because thats even less straightforward. For example, G2 Optimus' trailer is not a base mode of the actual Optimus toy, unlike StarConvoy or PMOP. We could discuss it in the top 5 list thread to brainstorm but for now I will say that for the triple changer list, I will at least keep what is seen as actual triple changers (plus I dont want to totally rewrite some paragraphs I already did ).
And anyways, for the bases, that list would also have to wait until all the TR leaders are out.

I'm guessing the first box set would be Pounce and Wingspan vs Fastlane and Cloudraker and the second will be Godbomber, Nautica and Quickswitch vs Tidal Wave? The image doesn't make it very clear.
The only things on this list I'd be interested in buying are Deluxe Hot Rod, Titan Master Shuffler and Toraizer, Voyager Blitzwing and Leader Overlord, possibly Shockwave too if it's Voyager or Leader, so thankfully most of the Titans Return figures I want are in wave 2, and my wallet can rest easy after that.
I've said it before, but I do hope if Voyager Apeface and Snapdragon and Deluxe Wingspan and Pounce happen, they get retooled into Optimus Primal, BW Megatron, Airazor and Cheetor and/or Tigatron at some point, but I've banged that particular drum enough already.

You wouldn't be interested in a microscope Perceptor or Cybertronian altmode Kup?

RodimusRex wrote:You wouldn't be interested in a microscope Perceptor or Cybertronian altmode Kup?
Personally no, because I think the Generations 2010 Kup still holds up as a good figure today, and while I've never had a version of the Reveal the Shield Perceptor mould I've heard it's a decent figure too. But if the majority of people want updates of those characters I'm cool with that, they're just not what I would go for.

Oh. I think it holds up. But I'd replace mine in a hurry if they did one with Cybertronian altmode, less kibble, and maybe a G1 Animated/IDW fusion robotmode.
Rodimus is the one I'm less sure about. The figure looks decent but the hollow abs weird me out. I'd probably go nuts over a UN-23 Rodimus Prime deco of that if Takara did one. That deco was AWESOME, too awesome for the Classics mold. The new Rodimus mold looks PRETTY good. But the deco isn't selling me on it just yet. Black shins, grey hands, a couple of tones of red, and a bolder flame decal on the chest and it would probably push me over towards getting it.

It as confirmed by different sources that each set would have 1 leader, 1 voyager, 1 Titan Master, 1 deluxe and 2 clones. So the duo of each clone will be in seperate box sets.

Here is every Titan Master thus far released by Hasbro with the exception of SDCC Fort Max (I wanted to stay married, so I didn't spring for both Fort Maxes) and Walgreen's Brainstorm.
For the record this is 26 of the possible 28 that have been released to this point. I was going to challenge Sabrblade to name them all, but then I'd have to check with him if he was correct because I don't know them all.
More stuff to follow in coming days!
[Edit] P.S. These are like setting up dominoes. I don't know how many times I knocked over several with my sausage fingers...

Prime's is Apex and Mindwipe's is Vorath. It's weird; I rarely if ever remember the -master names beyond of course Zarak and Nightstick who always comes up all the time (thank you universe nightstick mold), but Vorath always sticks out to me somehow...
