Chevrolet has started running a new commercial for the 2012 Silverado titled "Like Father, Like Son", which depicts a child playing with a toy Silverado just like his father's. One of his other toys just happens to be a Transformer, but not one you would probably expect. Given the connection between Chevrolet and the Transformers movie franchise one would expect to see Bumblebee, Sideswipe, maybe even no of the twins, but no it's none other than
Cybertron Repugnus! He makes a brief appearance right around the 10 second mark.

That didn't even look like a Transformer. If it didn't say that it was Repugnus I would have just thought it was some misc. monster toy. Should have used classics Prime or someone important.

I think I want Repugnus more than the truck.

That boy was having a lot of fun and he gets to play with Lara Croft. Probably one of Dad's personal collection. Well done.

Lara Croft & storm shadow also make an appearance, forgot all about this commercial seen it a couple weeks ago while watching football. Wonder how they were able to do this since all those other toys are all copy written characters & toys. But what i want to know is where they hell they found that Tomb Raider figure, it looks like NECAs but the only one i know of the on in the best of players line and is about 7 inches tall.

Fun, never noticed it. I was geeked about the space shuttle, personally.

Interesting that Repugnus is half a decade old, but paradoxically still in stores as part of that 3 pack. Doc might still be in some Toys'R'Us-es too. Wonder how many of the others are still being sold.
Brings back fond memories of gently harassing my pets with my TFs; several guns and Grax were mercilessly chewed, and Grimlock's sword entirely eaten in retaliation.

I know how he feels. I bought a 1964 Impala SS model kit years ago with plans of making it look like my mom's (her 1st car, bought in 1964). I still have a couple of Ertl SS-es (one made to go with MTH O-Scale flatcars). When I ever get space for a train layout again, I want to put it out, alongside 1/43 scale versions of the 1978 Corvette Stingray, Electramotive #83 Datsun 280-ZX (Turbo), Martini #4 Porsche 935 Turbo, and Alitalia #539 Lancia Stratos Turbo. (I wonder who those cars should remind me of...?)
-----
If I were responsible for the props, I would have swapped in the PoC version of Snow Storm ("Ice Storm"?), and the two Transformers cameo would have been RotF Jolt and... who am I kidding, Repugnus wasn't a bad choice. (He stands upright and can
wave. I think I liked the original because he has this weird grin on his face
and looked more like a UFO alien than a bug monster.)
