Wheeljack just gets better and better with every pic, as does Grapple!
I'll say it again, Wheeljack fans this is a great looking figure already - if you're not happy with it then you'll never be happy with anything, this is a great looking figure - looks like Hasbro has done it again in the Generations line.
I really want to see him painted.

Well, Wheeljack looks about as good as Wheeljack can I suppose. I don't really like the figure but it's mainly due to flaws in Wheeljack's character design more than anything. The chest and legs just look so basic and don't really convince me that it's a humanoid form rather than just really obvious car bits. Couple of other G1 characters suffer from the same issue in their designs and while it seemed more forgivable back then with the relative simplicity of toy technology I think I've just been so spoilt with a lot of the Movie stuff that most G1 characters just look far too basic, blocky and unconvincing to me now.
Grapple too bugs me cos I think this figure looks absolute crap just like Inferno did. They look like very overweight twins whereas their original G1 figures were at least far better proportioned.

As far as Wheeljack goes, even the unpainted prototype is sexy.

Thank you! If they wanna homage G1 toys, this is the way to properly do it!

I wish they had made a toon about these figures instead of having a brand new one with newer molds

Looks like Grapple is borrowing Hightower's weapon.

The cartoon was what sold TFs. Without it TF would be nothing like it is today, so Rumble should be blue this time around. Even better, they should put Rumble and Frenzy in the animated series and just keep the names reversed from the toys from now on. Kinda like GIJoe's backwards thumb.

And if they wanna homage the cartoon, all the fans must do is repurpose them as the other.

Megatron Wolf wrote:Knew it was just a matter of time befoer we got clearer pictures. The pile driver "mode" is pushing it a bit but the figure does look good. Wheeljacks not to bad, would like a little more remolding but theres enough to make me buy it plus its Wheeljack. Cant wait to see what they look like painted. I have to say generations has to be the best figure line ever, you can have characters from any series and they always look awesome. My only gripe is that there isnt enough WFC figures.
Yeah, there can never be enough WFC toys imo. All these guys looks fantastic. I especially love Rumble/Frenzy. I wonder if Hasbro will also release them as a 2 pack (I hope so). I only pray that when BBTS gets the preorders for the Hasbro versions I will be lucky enough to snag them

I like Frenzy and Rumble. The tanks are a pretty cool design. The alt mode looks a little top heavy.
Wheeljack is fabs.
I was hoping for a little more with Grappel paint job. Looks pretty similar to Hasbro's version.

Seconded.

G2 Prime looks pretty shway though, and Wheeljack is ok.

I think they'll be scout sized given the size of the legs and hands. Look at the legs, they are toothbrush thick... and the hands don't seem to be able to hold one of the cannons, nor does it look like the cannons can even come off.
I love Scourge and G2 Prime. The clearer pictures make me want them even more then the rest! I have high hopes for Rumble and Frenzy. Wheeljack is looking better with the clearer pics, but I'm going to need to see some colored pics before I commit to loving the absolute SHIT OUT OF HIM!

I don't know what I was reading, but the first comic I saw them in were like that. So no matter what they will always stay like that for me. Besides I always associate Frenzy with the term blood frenzy (as in a berserk state). Frenzy just suits red, he always will in my book.
Any news when Hasbro will be releasing all these figs? The eta dates for these figures is Jan-March according to the listings. Don't we usually get these figures first? Are we going to get them around the same time?

I'm really digging these Generations figures!

I'm a RIBFIR kinda guy myself but to each their own.
We should be seeing these (in Canada at least) around March or April.

Blurr, Kup, Tracks, Jazz, G2 Optimus, Perceptor, Lugnut, Scourge, Wreck Gar, Thunderwing, Grapple, Windcharger and Rumble & Frenzy are all coming out in the next 6-9 months on top of MP Rodimus and the Protector.
My wife is going to leave me over all this!
Hah. Me too! I'm loving all the new stuff coming out this year & next, but my wife's going to kill me when she finds out how much I've preordered.

Grapple is a win as well... even though he doesn't come with a gun hand or a weapon of any sort... I hope that a repaint as roadhauler is released as well...
Even though I don'like the wings in robot form on Scourge nor his altmode I think that he is a decent figure (one to buy to complete the galvatron - cyclonus - scourge trio)... and I hope that his targetmaster is released (either by Hasbro or Takara) so that a repaint/remold of Inferno (with a ladder instead of a water gun) is released as Artfire. Aslo a repaint of Scourge (and a new face) would make great Devcon figure.
G2 Optimus Prime isn't that bad.... but I would have liked to see him at least in Voyager Class size so that a repaint of RiD Scourge would fit better with SDCC exclusive Nemesis Prime. A repaint as Toxitron wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Is this how Hasbro and Takara are going to handle the other cassette-bots? I hope that Frenzy and Rumble will be labelled as Cybertronian Frenzy and Rumble.... I'd like to see them redone into more articulated cassettes in legend size (so as to fit with ravage)... I know that casettes are so last century... but up to 10 years ago micro casettes were still used... and Guido Guidi has released some great art for an unused AHM Soundwave which turns out into a modern recorder.
