All this and DOTM hasn't even opened in Japan yet, which it will later this week. It is safe to say that DOTM will reach the $1 Billion mark. Perhaps fans can celebrate by going to see DOTM again.

That's the FIRST thing I thought when I saw this article.
There is NO WAY the TF Movie franchise is over, my friends.

1 Michael Bay revive Starscream give him his own team
2 revive megatron and turn him into galvatron
3 Bring on unicron
4 Have unicron planning to devour the earth
and the Autobots and Decepticons team up to defeat him and galvatron
These are my ideas for Transformers 4:Rise of unicron
Dosent that title make your head explode!

Change that starscream revived and he leads the Decepticons
While galvatron is with unicron

As for the film, I like it quite a bit. I'll need to rewatch the 2nd film now to see if I like it more than when I saw it in the theater. I hated it in the theater. Same thing happened with Indiana Jones 4, and then I liked it more when I watched it again as I tend to forgive many of the flaws on later viewings. The truth of it is these movies are hell of a lot better than I ever expected live action transformers movies to be. I don't think Bay is a good director, but I think he is perfect for something as corny as making a live-action Transformers movie.

That's uber impressive. The Japan thing is really surprising. I thought ROTF made big money, this thing is crazy! Pretty much confirms a fourth movie.

But apparently you're in the minority on that opinion, judging by the ticket sales for DOTM. For everyone who agrees with you, there are many many people who've seen it and do not agree. Now, had the majority of people who saw the movie hated it but the so-called Transformer fan boy crowd loved it, we'd be looking at different ticket sales figures. Apparently the move was designed for a more mainstream audience and it managed to achieve doing that in a rather big way.

Taken from Wikipedia:
Roger Ebert gave the film one out of four stars, calling it "a visually ugly film with an incoherent plot, wooden characters and inane dialog. It provided me with one of the more unpleasant experiences I've had at the movies.
Visually ugly film? Wow. Maybe they shouldn't let people who don't have full control of their face critic (critique?) movies

He's blind. Visually ugly? He must be one of the people who thought Avatar looked realistic. The characters weren't totally wooden, but the plot kind of was incoherent...too bad that's not enough to take this movie off my list of favorite movie of all time.

Exactly. You can't argue with the amount of success the film is making, the numbers are right there. I love all 3 movies as a whole, even if all my favorite ones died in the end

Cyberion wrote:Ebert needs to be put out to pasture anyway. He's dead wrong on this film. Thankfully, film goers don't base the movies they choose to see on the opinions of hack/critics like Ebert.
For real, what really puzzles me is is spite of his complaints of the Transformers movies he liked Cloverfield. That movie is the poster child of ugly visuals and incoherent plots.
