It's nice to have the option of the spare tire on his back.
Too bad the Autobot symbol on his chest/roof has such a big square gap around it.
It's a nice touch, to be able to hide it in vehicle mode, but clearly it's not appealing of how it looks. They should have made it more invisible.

But don't worry Takara, my money will be heading your way as soon as he is being released.

i think rather than having an authentic looking VW Bug to try to pull off a cartoon accurate robot
it would be better to have the more deformed vehicle mode and have both modes be more cartoon accurate
don't get me wrong this is a very nice bumble bee but it could be better and think how hard would a cliffjumper be with this masterpiece mold? just saying

Why would they use this mold to make a Cliffjumper when they could just make a new mold?

After all, G1 Cliffjumper was a different mold from G1 Bumblebee. They just shared similar transformation engineering.

Hopefully for CJ, no drama and all that jazz about being a war toy etc. I can't wait for CJ in 2016 (my wish that is )

The chest symbol swap bugs me. I think if reprolabels makes a sticker for the roof of the bug with the same yellow as the paint, you could just slap it over it and put your own Autobot symbol. I don't think the flipping is required for transformation.

@ Cobotron

Correct! 100%!

Sure, anyone is entitled to their opinions but does anyone ever consider the design applications first?

MP BB is kind of small to put it lightly. If narrowed, the swing door would put to much "force" on the frame when you try pushing it. Unlike in SOC (another company) Dangard A, it also had a hard to adjust part (compensated by adding a wee tool to push it). If Tomy had added that part and increased the cost, then all hell would get loose.

The price already and the size has a lot whining already (not considering the engineering effort and licensing and not to mention the "scaling" issues some around here will apply to this release).

It's okay like, we rant against Rodimus Convoy's exploding shoulders or maybe flipped feet of MP-10 QC but really, if I was the designer and listen to all this, the project will never be completed.

Btw, MP WJ is, from what I hear highly acclaimed home run hit. Sometimes too awesome that some of our compatriots are ODied with MP awesomeness that it no longer surprises them anymore.

Nope, everything is possible in toy engineering. So there's absolutely no reason for Takara or Hasbro not to give us mass shifting in actual transformers toys.

ps. does Takara Windblade have a remolded face? Or just a different paint job?

 That's bothering me too. Windblade's face. It seems like the paint placement of her optics are different, maybe painted below the place Hasbro's version was. Unless we get a high res pic, my statement is just speculation.

I thought about swapping the Classics G1 original cast line for the Masterpiece line but decided not to. But damn, HasTak is making it very difficult. If only the Seekers were more solid as action figures. If they make a good new Megatron then I'll go for the Masterpieces. Which will get me bankrupt. Still classics Jazz is so perfect, as well as Hound.

That Toy World one has an ugly alt mode. The deformed look doesn't seem to fit in with any other TFs, and the blue windows look awful. It reminds me of the Disney Donald Duck transformer.

If they were going to go with a deformed 'toon look, they should have carried that through to the bot mode as well. It's a weird combination of deformed cartoon alt mode and "classic"-looking bot mode.

I know this is going to make me sound like one of those impossible to please people who everything has to be perfect for, but I really don't like the way his back is designed. I feel like maybe they could have done with a couple more hinges for the side windows, and a swivel point at the top so that it could invert and lay flat on his back, THEN put the spare tire thing on the back. Not that I'm bashing the figure, it's amazing and I love that it comes with Spike in his Exo-Suit! It's just a nit-picky little thing really. I still want it!

ARISE BUMBLEMUS PRIME!

I just ordered the MP-10 reissue with Vector Sigma so I hope Bumblebee comes out at the end of the month. I have 3 preorders in until the end of the year: MP Magnus, Apollyon notMegatron, and Bumblebee, and if they all come in too close together only Bumblebee is getting cancelled and picked up later. I love the way it turned out and am really looking forward to getting that exosuit Spike!

i doubt we'll get goldbug out of this. he wasnt a direct repaint to begin with, and thats not how hastak have been handling the MP line. you can bet on at least a couple repaints though, there being so many variants of BB's and CJ's.

I'd kinda like to see a repaint of this in red, like the bizarre toy variant that sometimes popped up (not Cliffjumper, actual red Bumblebees did get released for some reason...)

Also a G2 Bumblebee in DELICIOUS GOLD CHROME. To be exact, the wonderfully vintage, slightly cloudy-looking shiny gold the toy used. You know, this little fella:

I think there's a two-fold reason they used Stinger...

1. He's a redesign of Bumblebee's original look, hence the 'bee (the insect) look.
2. The buzzing noise the engine makes when he's moving in vehicle mode.

I wouldn't know if they even considered using Bug Bite, but I doubt they could have if they wanted to since there are some issues regarding the use of GoBots IP due to Hanna Barbera owning the rights to it. It's why Movie Fracture wasn't named/couldn't be "Crasher", and why the six Minibot redeco G1 GoBots were nameless in their release. The fact that BotCon 2007 Bug Bite happened is a little surprising, and will probably remain the last time a toy like him happens again.

Actually, not quite. The G1 Gobots originally went unnamed as a precaution, with Takara fearing Bandai would link the Hasbro-owned IP to their Machine Robo molds, legally far-fetched as it sounds. Of course, FunPub would use the names for their fiction anyway .

Wait wait, so the person buying this will recieve a figure that is missing one of the mirrors? Too bad. Also, the seller did protect him/herself by stating that it is loose (and thus not new) and you only get what is in the pics. So you really must be careful.

Honestly, I'm not even going to put the mirrors on mine. They seem to hurt the botmode and Wheeljack came with 2 sets like they were expecting them to get snagged and break off. I'm not bother to put them on any of them and wish I had that option for the earlier cars.
