From the official Transformers Facebook page, we have another look at what is probably the final retail version of the previously seen The Last Knight Premier Edition Optimus Prime, as featured in an 'evolution' video of the character's toys through the Paramount live-action movies, from 2007 to now, via Age of Extinction, Dark of the Moon and Revenge of the Fallen. Check out the clip, and enjoy the screenshot provided!

Did they intentionally use the worst toys for each of those years?

Okay,so...no 2007 or 2009 leaders? How is that fair? Is it because it'd show how the lines have actually regressed?

No, but it also isn't the best version of that mold from Hasbro either.

I'm sorry, but that video is one big joke, especially the first half. It's like the one who made it just grabbed whatever toy he had and was done with it. I mean, really:

- 2007: Titanium 3"
- 2009: first Voyager (a redeco of the 2007 one!)
- 2011: Voyager (that I kind of agree with for lack of a real alternative)
- 2014: Evasion Mode (uhm...)
- 2017: Premier Edition

Were it up to me, I'd have picked:

- 2007: Voyager or Leader
- 2009: Leader or the HftD Voyager
- 2011: Voyager
- 2014: Leader

Yeah, weird that they put a recolor of the 2007 voyager as the RotF toy and didn't include the Battle Blade voyager from HftD as the RotF toy instead. If they did that I could understand doing nothing but Voyager toys. Especially since there hasn't been a Leader figure announced for the new film's toyline yet.

Was Voyager Battle Blade Prime rare? I've never managed to find one at a decent price. One of those rare cases where Hasbro make a similar toy in different sizes which sure helps when trying to choose a scale in a toyline where it's so frickin' difficult to do so. I love my custom Evasion Prime but BB Prime seems the best choice for pre-Evasion (and therefore having his original movie truck mode)

I suspect it is. It came out on the tail end of the HftD line, and I've noticed lots of stores skip the end of a line if they already have too much stock, so it's probably not that common. I only saw one in stores here (Colorado). It's also easily the most screen accurate of the voyager Primes, so it's in high demand as well.

You could try searching for the Wal-Mart Comettor 2-pack that came out during DotM. It has the same Prime mold, but he has his hooks instead of swords, and he's decorated to look like stars and the moon are reflecting off of him. May be cheaper/easier to find.

Thanks. Dunno if that Wal-Mart pack came out in the UK but I'd vastly prefer the original release for colour scheme, swords and battle mask. Maybe I'll get lucky when the car boot sales start up again next year. I had some amazing TF bargains this year. :D

Ah, didn't know you were in the UK. No idea if they had another version there or not. You could try looking for the Takara versions, AA-01 or AD12, though I doubt those are any cheaper.

No it didn't. It was in the second wave of Voyagers for that line out of five waves total. If anything, it was the fourth and fifth Voyager waves that were hard to find.

You may know the 4th and 5th wave as the "Reveal the Shield" subline imprint. For the record, "2010 line" is a more accurate description for the whole, as "Hunt for the Decepticons" was a promotional campaign, not a name used for the line.

The Transformers Facebook Page has released a new picture for us to check out, this time in the form of the toy packaging for the upcoming voyager class Premier Edition Optimus Prime! The new packaging features a new image of Prime charging out out of the lower left corner, with the toy itself visible through the window, much like the regular voyager releases of late. It also has The Last Knight logo on the bottom below the name, along with Transformers printed vertically along the right side. Check out the image below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

I think I'll pick this up when it's gone on sale.

The box design looks the same as aoe, so at least it's consistent.

I kind of wonder how this is going to be released. Is it just going to be an early release available at general retail or is it going to be exclusive to somewhere? I can't imagine it being that much different from the real voyager like First Edition AoE Prime was (or leader class, you know what I mean).

Bit weird it has two different Transformers logos but does that mean the vertical red font one is the overall brand logo (with the one used above The Last Knight is for movie stuff?) Overall it's like the previous movie boxes but just... nicer.

Correct, the red vertical logo is the one for the overall brand and used in all lines. It's been like that since Age of Extinction, and it's used by both Hasbro and TakaraTomy no less.

Though, Takara has inverted its colors for the Legends line, using white letters on a red background instead.

Let's hope this is at Toy Fair. I wonder how many people are going to buy the Premier Edition knowing this is potentially coming later?

If this is real then it's nice to see Hasbro finally realizing that a movie that'll likely gross a billion dollars is worth a toy line with a big budget. They seemed to forget that with AOE, but this could be a sign of them returning to the level we saw with the RotF and DotM lines. I'm thinking we might get a proper Triple Changer Drift in this line.

That looks... off. I mean, it's been compressed and blown up to hell, but still everything's flat and angular (what's up with the belly?), and it sorta looks like somebody built up on an existing figure than having engineered a full new (transforming) toy.

I don't think that's it and if it is then it's a tiny one since there's nothing behind his lower back. I think those are hinges and he transforms similar to CW Megatron with the entire chest folding up to form the top of the truck hood.

That's definitely based on the AOE Optimus design. No other Optimus has those torso pectoral pieces, that shoulder kibble, that knight skirt, and that pair of back-mounted triple smokestacks.

To say nothing of the chest design. That line art doesn't look as nice as the blurry photo does, but probably represents it better so I'm not sad to see it isn't official. The wait for a better Leader Optimus continues.

On the flipside, the feet/heels, the panels on the forearms and what appears to be the wheels inside the chest call back to Prime First Edition Optimus. That may mean that figure copies the transformation of the latter figure.

Much like for Age of Extinction, they're all given a nickname (moving away from Rocky and into astronomy), no images, no pricepoint, but a general description and the classes - as you can see in the breakdown below (Legion, Deluxe, and Voyager). What do you think? Which character is which? Does this get some sort of interest ready for the new toyline? Let us know in the Energon Pub!

I expect we will know what all of these look like pretty soon as the Toyfair season starts.

I'm glad there are new Legions I missed them in the previous line.

I expect from the blurb that there also exist the Last Knight Ones Ste-Changers too.

I wonder if they will do some Legions that actually represent the smaller Characters like Brains - also do any toys of characters they missed out on by the size not existing for the AOE line. not to mention as One-Step Changers were only introduced a few years ago they could also go old school (remember it's the 10 anniversary of the 2007 Movie) and make a 1=step 1970's Bumblebee or Jet Megatron or even Blackout, Bonecrusher and Brawl.

They already sneaked a One Step ROTF Megatron into a previous line so there is not reason to not do that again. I don't expect they will ever make dino's old body though.

All this talk of onesteps though just reminded me I never did get a a One-step Stinger.

Via the Facebook group HK-TF, and its user Victor Wong (plus a clip from Toys Daily) we have a look at a redeco of Age of Extinction Leader Optimus Prime which will come out in the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight toyline. It is part of the Premiere Edition subline with a rusty paintjob, according to the packaging (which also shows red Drift). There is also a Bumblebee figure present and it is unsire if it is simply the Revenge of the Fallen Batle Ops Bee on display or if there are some new parts to him. There is the original MPM-2 box from 2010 present, confusing the matter. What do you fans make of this? Do you see something new to that Bumlebee? You can check out the pictures below and speculate away in the Energon Pub.
