It's the Takara Micron dude that's been pretty controversial these past few days. I'm not really into them, Mini-cons were cooler back in Armada/Energon.

I think the articulation on most of the Prime figures ARMS is horrendous. You cant truly pose the elbows or the areas around there on a few so far that I have opened. I also hate these spindly fingers, hands etc. that cannot really hold weapons etc. They remind me of Movie hands. They need real hands with fist holes etc. I think.

I thought we agreed not to use the phrase 'fist holes'
Seriously, I don't understand your elbow complaint, I haven't had any problems.

Kinda doubtful, unless he makes an appearance in the show. The toys we've seen so far are characters in the show. Even Dreadwing, who I didn't expect to be in the show until we got evidence of his appearing, is getting his own toy.

I have no idea what ur talking about the fist holes for, lol.
CJ and WJ do not have elbows that "twist" so they have limited movement. They could have been better, just like Soundwaves long spinly arms. Thats all Im saying.

I bought season 1, but havent watched it yet. I plan to, but am I really missing out? Is it even that good? lmk what you think? I bought other animated sets like Energon etc. Couldnt watch them after 1 episode. Maybe Im just getting old or they suck, I dunno, lol

I'll echo that, although I'd have to argue the mold is perhaps more than just great. To have a second Vehicon figure that's just as perfect as the original but is so much more kibble free, and is from the RiD line, then I'd say this is Hasbro's equivalent of turning water into wine. It's just a shame it looks like they've got the purple wrong, as you said.

So Hot Shot will not be in the show? Awesome. Means I don't have to pick his silly ass up.
As for this gallery...eh.
I will admit that the hiding kibble is impressive. It really is. From what I can tell... The rear window and spoiler fold in behind the trunk on his head. The roof, windshield and hood fold up to form his calves.
Leaving you with fender legs and car side arms.
I still much prefer the First Edition that I have. I admit his back kibble is one of the biggest I've seen on a figure, but it's on hinges that allow you ti hide most of it when you see him from the front. (From the back is a different story, I know.)
The arms fold down to form a better arm. The weapon is more accurate. The legs and feet are incredibly accurate. Plus he's hunched over more and bulkier.
The PRID version's arms SUCK. The legs aren't show accurate. The figure's too thin and too tall. Plus the colors. Way too bright.
I'd consider buying one for troop building purposes, like have my FE be Steve, and this guy be his bitch underling.
It's not a bad figure, honestly. If this was all they offered us and the First Edition didn't exist, I'd have snapped it up, but knowing there is better out there...well, I'll get to the Vehicon when and if I choose to.
I would like to see a toy of the flying Vehicon. It looks awesome.

I love how the hands fold up and hide when combined with the gun, creating the illusion of the gun being part of the arm. If only it was metallic.

i don't know man, the vehicon in the show, to me, isn't very bulky at all. and to me, the RiD vehicons legs look more accurate (other than the wheel placement, which on both is equally inaccurate) and they even have the light purple paint detail on the shins.
the vehicon is supposed to be pretty tall.
the general shape of the RiD forearms is more accurate, all it's missing is a little filling in.
and when positioned the way we've seen in the official hasbro photo of the RiD figure, the gun is actually more accurate.
the head is also a little more accurate, but not by much.
i'd also have to argue with you that the first edition isn't more hunched over. judging by these photos, the RiD versions head looks like it's pushed further forward than the first edition. in my eyes, the first edition looks like there's a straight line from head to crotch.
and lastly.. the color of the vehicle mode is more of a real dark purple, closer to black, which is more accurate to the show.
i understand that you prefer the first edition. but i don't think you can make a case that it's more accurate.
i hope they're able to modify the RiD vehicon to make the aerial drone.

Not saying that he wont be in the show, just saying that we got a toy of a character that is not in the show (at least not yet).

Quite clearly it forms up the legs. Most of the vehicle seems to fold up to form the calf.

I don't often buy the pricier Takara versions of things, so I can't speak from first hand experience. BUT, I am quite satisfied with a few Hasbro offerings in the Prime category, and it looks like this one will be another. Good job Hasbro.

I'm not for army-building them, but do hope that we get the aerial one, hopefully with a similarly kibble-free robot mode, so I can use them as updated Clones.

I believe that in terms of color it is the particularly bright purple in robot mode that is the offender. Also in the show the paint job's appearance seems to be highly dependent on lighting to me so I would argue that it could look either way.
As for the arms I'd say your both half right. They're a little too bulky on the FE and a little too spindly on the RiD. The legs are in general closer to being accurate on the FE but it's missing a few small aesthetic features that the RiD has.
Personally I'd want the limbs from the FE placed on the RiD's torso, much like how I feel about Arcee.

The FE Vehicon looks much better to me though. It looks like a Transformer. This looks like a generic comic book robot to me. I'd like one of each but I'm certainly not gaga over this one. He's just okay IMO.
I'm not alone? YAY!!!!

That's fair. Although, I'd say the FE Vehicon is probably more accurate because the show has a rather dark hue to... well, everything. Arcee is way too bright in her PRID form. So is the Vehicon.
The overall theme of the show is darkness, so I can't blame them for trying to build an atmosphere of darker colors.

Actually, this gallery doesn't have the FE version transformed quite right. (Why is it that this toyline has the worst example pictures? Whether it's an official, 3rd party or collector source....no one seems to transform them right. Annoying. Ruins a perfectly good figure...
Vicalliose wrote:Personally I'd want the limbs from the FE placed on the RiD's torso, much like how I feel about Arcee.
Hmm. I dunno. I'll probably buy a PRID Vehicon, I'll be able to compare the two in detail, I still think the FE is more accurate, not counting the kibble.
I'm going to have to start a comparison thread...
Posted by NatsumeRyu on April 1st, 2012 @ 9:17pm CDT
And for the folks talking about this figure's elbows - these RiD elbows are actually VERY accurate. Check some of the show renders out there. The Vehicons have weird elbows like this.
