Fansproject Rumors: Protector Armor in Q1 2010 and Bruticus appendages

TFW2005 Member Victorysaber has posted and email response supposedly from Fansproject that we will classify as a rumor for now until confimed. According to the response, the Protector armor is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2010. More interesting, but not surprising, they are apparently working on a Bruticus Maximus set as well. No word though on when we can expect to see any images of it. The actual email text is below:

You know, all of the emails I've recieved in response from them used perfect english. Smells fishy to me. Still, I hope it's true!

I can't wait to see more on the Protector Armor progress.
I'm so-so on the Bruticus M appendage kit rumour. I don't have hands-on experience with the figure yet but from all the pictures and videos I've seen of it, it doesn't look like it'll benefit as nearly as much from such an add-on as Superion M does. It'll be neat, nevertheless.
Would you be less suspicious if your e-mail responses were filled with Engrish? Hehe.

I'm sorry that name fubar is going to be something they never live down. But I would be very interested in a Bruticus set and if they did a Constructicon set that would be the bees knees.

I think Bruticus is actually the least needing of an upgrade set, but whatever, I'm sure I'll end up getting it anyways.

If you are expecting their regular delays I would still expect 2nd quarter. But 1st quarter stills sounds suspect as we still haven't even seen decent prototype images yet and 1st quarter is only 3-5 months away.
Of course I refer the "Nexus Prime" one and not the pre-existing non transformable one.

Are you a fan of elbows? If you are indeed a fan of elbows you will rejoice and buy the upgrade kit if/when it becomes available.

I forgot to add to this post: and everyone runs out and buys the remaining ROTF BM sets still on the shelves at their local Target. They'll go from slow sellers to gone nearly overnight now.

Out of all of the Energon Combiners, Bruticus reall doesn't need an upgrade kit. He has fairly decent hands if you use both copters as arms. I could care less about elbows. Even with the Superion set, I still display him with straight arms.
On the other hand, I would love an upgrade kit for Constructicon Maximus. I can't stand the cranes and am currently in the process of finding another Sledge so he can hall all of the same limbs of the same mold.
The Protector Armor is a no brainer for me. Now I guess it's time ot hunt down another Henkei Rodimus.

This single-handedly turned Rodimus's Price in the aftermarket by atleast fivefold. I'll never be able to get it at this point....
And are we going to get Shattered Glass Protector? It's a bit far for FansProject to do it because its targetting such a small audience with that figure..

I'm a fan of limb joints in general, hehe. However, from what I've seen of Bruticus M and its various possible configurations, I don't really have a need for the combined form to have elbows. That may change once I get the set and see how it poses firsthand.

my only question is that what will the trailer transform into?
i mean i haven't seen the trailer turn into anything in the G1 cartoon. but then again it might turn Rodimus slighty bigger

It won't turn into anything other than armor that takes your standard deluxe Hotrod and upgrades him into Rodimus Prime. The same way CC upgrades Ultra Magnus, but doesn't actually turn into anything on it's own, unless you count the BFG of course.

You sure ain't kidding. My original plan of four Henkei Rodimus figures is totally dashed (one to display in both bot and alt mode with and without the armor). Thus far I have one Classics Rodimus and one Henkei Rodimus; it's going to be quite painful to bite the bullet and buy the second Henkei Rodimus, though I'm hoping the aftermarket on these has already topped out.
