Starscream=meh. I'm way beyond the whole 'Screamer sucks thing now, the design grew on me. But this looks meh to me. Nothing really exciting.

Kinda annoyed that the head on Ironhide isn't really anywhere near resembling his old self, but whatever, at least he still looks pretty good (would have liked to see less spikeyness on him though, and maybe alittle bit of red even if it was just in the detailing, because the all black looks too plain in his bot mode.)

Starscream is still a horrible, horrible atrocity.
Frenzy, like the other poster pointed out, looks like General Grievous, only during his ackward, pimple-filled teen years.
Ironhide, however, is pure love. Love the alt mode, love the colours, love the bot design. Why do they get all the secondary characters right, but screw up the main guys like Starscream and Megs?

Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll cut some people in half with those CD's.

Frenzy...bleh. Way too skinny. Like Grievous with anorexia.

Ironhide, I like, it's a big, burly truck robot.
Frenzy.....*takes asprin due to head pain*

Ironhide- Looks pretty good to me. Nothing particularly disturbing to me as far as I can tell
Frenzy- WTF? He looks like Transmutate!! It doesn't look like he can transform into anything. Very sad...

Ah, just ignore him. Seems like everyone else does, especially cuz every single one of his comments slam the movie, and are no where near constructive or useful to any conversation.

....Whatever he's supposed to be, that's still not Screamer.
& honestly, are sentient alien robots colorblind? Do they have no color preference at all? I mean, military hardware aside, why are these bots all such drab colors? A little color, IMHO, would make these robots look so much better.

FRENZY!
Who accepted Frenzy's design, Helen Keller? Even though she wouldn't see it I bet she can tell Frenzy sucks. I just wish I would understand why you guys accept this. Just because "Transformers" and "Optimus Prime" and "Megatron" along with Peter Cullen doesn't make this Transformers. I mean look, it's quite simple, Animorph Transformers are never considered Transformers since they suck so bad. Honestly I can see no kid wanting any of these toys, they look like alien pedophiles. But what's the use? All I can do is hope for you guys don't go because I bet you'll want a refund afterwords. Oh well, go on and quote me, bash me, threaten me, whatever because it's not worth trying to convince me this garbage is good.

and everytime i see that... that THING, that monsterous THING that has been given the glorious name of starscream, i die a little inside. at least megatrons monstercon looks cool.
but screamers waspi-cluckinator primal body.. why couldnt thay have used his transtech design too?
i just hope they at least keep true to his character. that will be some redemtion at least.

I remember when I first saw the concept art for Starscream and I hoped that my favorite Decepticon wouldn't look that bad. But he does. Frenzy is by far the worst of the bunch. And imagine, there was a chance that could've been Soundwave. I hope they don't make more sequels, because right now I don't want to see anymore of my favorite Transformers made to look like pieces of... gah!
I'm sorry, this post may seem like I'm just ranting, but right now, especially after watching the Don Murphy at Transformerscon videos, I feel like the fans are being... abused. They don't have to listen to what we want necessarily but we still shouldn't be lied to. "The designs will be familiar. You'll be able to recognize the characters." Nope! "The writers are Transformers fans" Nope! "The story will be about Transformers, not just humans" Nope!
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they bowed to fan influence in the casting of Peter Cullen, I just hope this film doesn't hurt his career in anyway.
What's really too bad is that Bay's marketing campaign is working. One day when I wore my Optimus Prime t-shirt, everywhere I went to people in their mid to late twenties complemented it and talked about how psyched they were for the new movie. These wee the people who remembered Transformers as kids, then kind of grew out of them I suppose. They remember the cartoon and the toys, but probably little else. These people will go see the movie, and help it make money.
To summarize: Bay and co don't give a shit about the hardcore fans and want to capitalize on peoples nostalgia.

You're absolutely correct. Because if they did cater to our whims they'd make a couple thousand bucks on the movie and it would be a bust.
People think it's some mysterious reason for why things are different. It's to make money folks. Most people want to go see an action flick with robots tearing each other to pieces and bad humor thrown in here and there. That's what Bay is giving them. As far as they're concerned to hell with the fans. I must say I don't blame them either. I want Transformers to be mainstream again. I want people to be talking about Optimus Prime (whatever version of him) while I'm walking around the mall. I'm tired of the same old crap year after year after year.
Theres a reason why the current shows can't even keep a set time. It's because no one cares about the show anymore. You think it was solely Bay who OK'ed the designs? Hell no! You have everyone from Spielberg to Aaron Archer signing off on this stuff. From the get go they probably had a meeting saying "we need to make this appeal to everyone if we hope to get people interested in Transformers again. Let's appeal to the sci-fi, action, adventure, horror etc. genre's. If it has a following then we need to get those people interested".
Our little minuscule cult following has no bearing whatsoever on this movie. And anyone who thought we would actually make a difference with our ranting and complaining was deluding themselves.

Ironhide is okay I guess, the toy looks cool although the barrels under the vehicle is dumb.
Frenzy would be badass if this movie was Rated R because he can cut up some people with those.
Bonecrusher in robot mode....

I understand some may need to know as much as posible ASAP! I feel the same about the toys. But I want to go into this movie with as clean a slate as possible, and not sit there knowsing every aspect before I see it. So to me this is a spoiler, and I don't want to look anymore into it.
Let 7/4 have enough suprize to either wow or disapoint me. However if you need these facts, then by all means...

Starscream... Pretty certain this is a really early concept from before the arm cannons. Still fugly as hell.
Ironhide... Looks kinda badass, in a spiky, can't-really-tell-what-it-is-cos-the-body's-so-damn-busy kinda way. Of the four, the only one I can see even close to the original character in personality, if not in looks. Still dislike the whole design style, though, and I have to echo the TFW poster who wanted to know why Ironhide gets two arm-mounted BFGs but Megatron can't manage even one...
Bonecrusher... He's a frikkin' Ent! With a full diaper and ridiculously long arms!
Nope, every one of these designs would be a turn-off, if I hadn't already turned off long ago.

I don't understand why this film had to be SO different from what has gone before. What would be so wrong with having faces that people can recognise and identify with; Human-like faces? Would a little bit of recognition in both Transformer modes really hurt this film that much?
Not one of these designs have a single aspect that I can really identify with; both in the sense that I dislike the designs, and they do not remind me of 'Transformers', at least what that name means to me.
Would it not have been far preferable for the producers of this film to have the majority of the fanbase 100% per cent behind this film? It seems that most people are just pissed off at being called 'whiners' or worse by 9certain) people involved in this film.
I think if they had shown a little respect for helping to keep the whole brand alive for 20 years - because why else would they be making a film now? I don't see any plans for a live action Thundercats film anytime soon - this film would be building up a far greater head of steam.
Internet fanbases can make or break a film (Snakes on a Plane anyone?). Just look at 'Spider-man 3': Every new image or poster or toy design creates ripples of anticipation everywhere. Anytime something new drops over 'Transformers the fandom resumes it's own civil war!
