We have Boomerang here in the US as well. I just wish they would actually show something like TF!

Leonardo wrote:I always thought POP was geared towards a younger audience. The most mature cartoons I've seen on there are Super Mario World and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.
So what! Its going to have G1 on it! This will be the first time I'll be able to watch a G1 episode and remember it! As all the others were when I was about 3!
Now, if only we could get a channel to re-show Beast Wars, God I loved that show, but I can only really remember the episodes I've got on video and DVD

Looking forward to this one quite a bit. Get em to love G1 while they're really small, and soon enough we'll have a new wave of G1ers to help fight Hasblo!!!

Shinobicon, you don't have to watch G1 to be a proper fan. If you've watched those cartoons and enjoyed something about Transformers enough to sign up here you must already be a proper fan!

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Transformers series have never been edited for violence here, but occasionally for time. Back in the day, we used to get one G1 episode spread out over a week and cut into 3-4 minute segments!
To be honest, the UK censor's obsession with cutting cartoons for violence has by & large disappeared in recent years. Case in point - when the Ninja Turtles first came over here in 1990, they were renamed the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and all scenes with Michaelangelo's nunchukus (sp?) weapons were cut. The live action movie was also heavily cut.
However, the 2003 series kept the Ninja Turtles name, and no scenes were edited.
So, the censors have relaxed a little in recent years!
(The only other 1980s cartoon that I recall also being heavily edited was Thundercats, again for Panthro's nunchukus weapon...)

Sometimes that made Hero Turtles look like it had a lot more animation errors than it actually did, as sometimes scenes were rejigged, either deliberately or accidentally, so certain things didn't make sense.
When was Transformers stripped into 3-4 minute segments? I remember it used to happen to Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Big Breakfast and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show on TV-AM (later GMTV).
