Each toy is linked to a Prime Master.
So Jazz is linked to Micronus, and Grimlock to... Liege Maximo?
Two more things:
- Can we expect a running change for Swoop, toy vs. cartoon?
- "Volcanicus" is adapted from Kre-O's Volcanicon.

yay!
Orion becomes part of OPrime?
cool.
they are all so pretty.
bad side?
OPrime is too big
Dinos are too small
Screamy is just right!

Headmasters, sure.
but what about

Dinobots are totally bought
I like the Jazz figure, but I will probably not get the mileage out of him to justify,
Dreadwind guys are bought.
Cloudburst makes an awesome gun. But I have no need for Pretenders, hell they couldn't even ball the Titans up so they fit more into the chest, moving the hinges up to the pelvis and allowing the Pretenders to have HIP FLIPPIN JOINTS. So I will likely skip all of them.
Roddy looks good, even with the backpack of DOOM. But again, not sure if I want him enough to buy in. ... who am I kidding, I will buy it.

I could more easily see Orion being retooled into a Galvatron that forms Toxitron, based solely on robot modes.

1). A Deluxe Class RID Scourge that combines with the trailer to form a Leader Class Nemesis Prime.
2). A Deluxe Class Armada Optimus Prime that combines with the trailer to form a Leader Class Armada Optimus Prime: Super Mode.
(They could also do Ginrai again, but it might be too soon for that.)

But yeah, Armada Optimus was the first thing I thought of when I saw how that figure combines. (GIMME THAT GLORIOUS GOLD FACE-PLATED PRIME!)

Sleeping through the reveals is both a blessing and a curse. On the bright side, I got to wake up this morning and FLIP OUT because I had totally forgotten that Hascon was today and now look at all these cool new toys oh boy!! On the other hand, everything's pretty much already been said by now. So I'll see what little I can contribute:
- - I am 100% going to get every single one of the Dinobots and I love them all very much. Swoop and Grimlock are definitely at the top of my list, Swoop because he's my favorite Dinobot (though I'm honestly not sure why?) and Grimlock just looks by far the best we've ever seen as an update to his G1 form.
The others seem quite good too and I'm sure I won't regret getting any of them (Slaoug kinda looks really dumb in his Triceratops mode, but I think he's just been posed awfully).
- Speaking of which, side note: I know I should expect it by now, but really, a convention exclusively for your brand that's being exclusively run by your brand and you still can't get someone to pose things correctly? Poor Sludge's hand is upside-down, how do you even manage that?!
- Leader Prime looks mighty cool, but seeing as I already have and love the MP and I don't personally have a need for a Leader-class leaders, I'll probably pass. Doesn't help that I got Tribute Orion Pax just a week ago, either - the new guy looks insanely cartoon-accurate but I'm happy to stick with the one/s I've got. I'm still holding out hope for an eventual Ultra Magnus retool, though; I don't care if the inner robot is just a white Orion Pax instead of Optimus, just give me a cool combining Magnus robo!
-Starscream looks a lot better in these pictures? I hated him before but now I'm just mildly disgruntled. I'll probably still have to pass since I'm gonna have to tighten my wallet next year, but we'll see if he can change my mind before then.
- Frustrated that the combiners are being spread out over two waves again, from what we've seen. I'd like my Volcanicus (what a hard name to remember how to spell!) as soon as possible please, but I suppose it can be fun to drag out the search.
- Prime Masters don't give me much to say. I think it's super-cute how Micronus peeks through Cloudburst's visor, and I can't wait to see the Vector Prime one. Gonna compulsively buy all of them,
natch.
- - Prime Masters: All of 'em, because I'm weak-willed and they're so cheap. Most excited for the as-yet-unrevealed VP though.
- Legends: All of 'em again, but since we've only had two revealed so far I guess that's not so bad. Beachcomber to contribute to my Legends minibots, and Slash because she's a Dinobot and she's cute and what more do I need to say.
- Deluxe: Dinobots, Jazz, maaaybe Darkwind and Blackwing since I'm a sucker for new and interesting gimmicks. And, I guess that's all the revealed Deluxes so far too, so uh.
- Voyager: Grimlock. Starscream isn't pushing the right buttons just yet but Grimlock just looks great, oh man.
- Leader: Nobody yet. Due to my preference for faction leaders being in Voyager scale, and the fact that Roddy still looks pretty clunky to me and OP pretty much only fills the spots of two figures I already have, I'm not too bothered about either of them.

Microraptor wrote:That Grimlock legit has worse Dino proportions than the FOC version. But it's G1, so who cares right?
Yeah, to be fair the dino proportions we're seeing in these pictures do look pretty bad on examination. (Though it appears to me, due to the way his shoulders seem to be constructed, that the dino hips will be able to swing down and in just a touch? If that's the case I think it'll help immensely, even if it's just a small change to the mode.) For me, the main draw of this version over FoC is that his robot proportions look way cooler: slightly smaller shoulder-circles counterpointed by a bigger and blockier chestal region, and the more chunkily solid legboots go a long way to making him feel more generally powerful "Grimlock-y" IMO.
Plus the aesthetic of this one will fit in with the other Dinobots (I still can't believe we're getting ALL THE DINOBOTS AAAAA), and of course not to mention that he combines (in quite a creative way too, if the grayscale prototype images and big seam down his center-chest are anything to judge by). Taking all that into account, yeah he's reall not bad at all; I don't hate my FoC Grimlock (he's still my Classics-style Grim at the moment with the addition of the Iron Factory Dino-Armor) but from what we can see so far, this guy is 100% going to take his place as the definitive Grimlock in my collection.
(Aaaargh I can't wait for Q1 2018 gimme toys NAOW)

not exactly out of scale. Her alt mode is raptor, which generally is much smaller than stegosaurus or triceratops.
But seriously, Beast Wars characters were about 1/3 or 1/4 the size of G1 characters, so it would be mostly accurate.
Not the kind of scale (both of them) I meant but okay

The way they talked about it on the panel made it sound like they're supposed to be only one limb configuration - which might be better for the stability of three modes, after all, rather than four like CW limbs.

The Dinobots as a set look great. I hope they're using tampographs and not stickers, but that aside I like how they look. Slag especially looks great, though I could be biased as Triceratops is my favourite dinosaur. Slash has grown on me a lot, though the head is a tad generic.
Volcanicus on the other hand...hooo boy. The torso seems to rely on the spare hands to bulk out the midsection, which is not a good look at all. Speaking of the hands, they have two thumbs each, and for some reason the thumb is what has the 5mm port on it. Come on HasTak, the HFGs worked fine as hands, it was just the foot modes that sucked. It's like they reinvented the wheel and made it square.
As for Prime, he doesn't look good at all. The evolution gimmick seems kinda off to me- I'd have preferred the Deluxe figure just be Optimus Prime and the armoured mode be a "super mode" ala Armada or RID or whatever. Anyway, the Orion Pax robot mode is horribly hollow, the vehicle mode is a mess (the red top of Prime's robot chest on the front of the trailer is especially egregious) and that Optimus Prime is just argh. It looks like a mix between a badly done custom and a shoddy knockoff, and overall looks like a cheapo version of MP-10. The Matrix is a nice feature, I guess.
So yeah, overall I'm not greatly impressed.

Hasbro's will just have the metallic paint, but I'm sure Takara Tomy's will have the gold and silver chrome in their eventual release.

Yeeeaaaaaah... I wouldn't put it out of the question for further images to change my mind yet, but so far I'm honestly not too impressed with Volcanion Volcarona Volcanicus either. Something about the proportions give the impression of Volcanodude being somewhat lanky and droopy; pretty much the antithesis to the vibe Dinobots usually give off, let alone a combiner made up of all of them. I mean, those shoulders - they look like they're gonna be the hell of Sky Reign and Menasor times 10; you can already see the joints sagging in the grayscale.
I'd go on about the hips too, but it looks like Grimlock's leg joints could be utilized to move the combined hips out and up to give them a more fitting breadth, sorta like the reverse of what most did with their copies of Motormaster/Menasor. I'm holding out hope yet that better-looking alternate configurations will come to light as we approach release, but even if that's not the case I still dig the aesthetic behind this guy (I'm one of those heretics who actually kinda appreciated some of the design concepts behind The Beast, even if they were executed awfully).
And of course, let's not forget that since it's the Dinobots, combining isn't even the main draw anyway! We're all gonna buy them anyway regardless what the combined form looks like. Worst-case scenario, if this does turn out to be the best Volcanada can look, it'll just be all the more reason for me to enjoy the Dinobots as their own separate (awesome!) figures.

I kinda agree, I didn't want to bring it up to ruin the hype and because like you, I love the aesthetics behind it... but that grayscale of Volcanicon looks awful. Just... everything from the thin ankles to the shoulders to the tiny feet are so off.

Yep, that's the hands there! I'm kind of unsure whether I like the idea of using the extra hands to fill out the combined mode honestly: on the one hand it's a really clever use of spare parts, and it'll bulk up the torsos more than would perhaps be possible given just a Voyager robot; but on the other, it's using extra parts to fill out the torso (not just as an extra, it actually seems necessary to make the torso look any good, on this guy at least) where some extra creativity on the torso-designers' part would've been more appreciated instead.
Also, I guess those hands are actually the best indication of limb interchangeability now that I think of it. All other things aside (how could you advertise swappable limbs to kids if only half of them turn into the right kind of limb? What's Timmy gonna do if he ends up buying a torso and four legs?), the fact that each Deluxe comes with a hand tells me that at the very least every one of them can be an arm. It only stands to reason that each can also be a leg, in that case. Hooray, Scramble combining (all but) confirmed - now we can all rest just a little bit easier!

Would be great to get star saber in this evolution line. Curious how they're going to do primal I'm not sure how you turn a gorilla to a bigger gorilla and then have two different robot modes. Volcanicus is scramble for sure, from the simple fact that each deluxe comes with combiner fists and thus must at least become arms
Predaking however will not be scramble for the simple reason that he is of a different scale and thus will most probably need unique connectors like Devastator.

I dont know what I will do. I want to experience that Optimus Prime but with the end result just being a G1 style leader Prime, its of no use to me. How many Leader Primes do I need. I have the MP, the PMOP and Magnus Prime. Unless I sell PMOP and get this one to go against Leader Megatron All I know is that I just have too many and did not need another one. Also, to all those who claim he looks like MP 10, from the fron in robot mode sure, I get that. But that is one uuugly cab mode and his robot back (on every surface) will be full of kibble. Plus he has a fake chest in robot mode, which really irks me.

Ha shortly after joining this forum, I remember seeing some folks talking about their display cases just for Optimus. Back then I thought that was the silliest thing; how many OPs do you need? Not that I have nearly enough for a display case full of OPs, but I have more than I ever imagined, and I'm still probably going to get this. Almost hoping Hasbro messes this figure up so I don't have to get it lol.

The artwork clearly shows swoop as an arm yet in the grey prototype picture has him as a leg. So I think its scramble city. Engineering wise, scramble city would also be cheaper than each individual figure having its own unique connector port.

The hands and feet are the armor pieces, there are not extra accessories. Also the prime master decoy armor are only slightly bigger than the actual prime masters making them way to small to be commoner extremities.

Speaking of HFA (Hand/Foot/Armor) pieces, did they explain why the Limbs come with just hands, with the feet coming with the Torsos?
I do realise HFG is no longer an option with the space needed the for the Prime Master
