OMG MP Prime 2.0, I am so happy! As long as they don't significantly cheapen the paint apps/chrome. Is the chrome intact in the pics shown?

I'm really choked about FoC Bruticus. I'll try to get it but I don't have high hopes. A 5-deluxe SDCC exclusive box set is going to be ridiculously expensive.

Voyager Soundwave sounds freaking amazing with the extra minions. What a great idea!

Voyager class generations, thats good i guess, but why make soundwave one? :???:

FOC Bruticus game accurate colors to be SDCC exclusive, that figures. Cant get a good painted figure at regular retail! :-x

This is underwhelming. Nothing too big here unfortunately, I feel like Hasbro is driving TF into the ground

Voyager Soundwave sounds seriously nice, looking forward to see how he turns out, also looking forward to MP 2.0 Prime's American price, hopefully not too much. :oops:

G1 Soundwave was equivalent to a Voyager size, if we consider the Autobot cars to be deluxes. It makes sense to me because it allows them to engineer transforming minions.

Hear that guys? Hasbro says getting more First Edition toys out is their top priority. I hope there's some truth to that. I have the ones I wanted except for Vehicon, but it would be nice if everyone would get their chance for a reasonable price.

CRAP, did no one ask them if they know how bad Bumblebee is shelfwarming? :HEADHURTS:

As nice as this Soundwave sounds on paper, making his kids turn into any sort of "data disks" means Transformers has finally blurred into COMPUTER WARRIORS. Oh well, I'd seen it as inevitable for years, so we were lucky it was forestalled so long that it comes after a working Device-Label Ravage USB drive.

Err, does anyone here remember what I'm talking about? I'm not even 100% sure that's the right name, their franchise has been dead a good 25 years.

Not thrilled about these reveals overall, but I don't feel like Hasbro's dropped the ball either.

Any idea how much that Bruticus set will cost? I mean at the convention, not on the secondary market.

I am actually going to SDCC for my second year in a row. Would be cool to pick that up..as long as I'd be able to get it in the plane home and everything.

When I got to the Voyager Generations, Soundwave, and MP Optimus Prime Ver. 2.... I just downright cried. No lie, that is the most beautiful thing I've ever read. Were there any images? Images would be FAN-FRIGGIN'-TASTIC! :grin:

Thrilled about a local release of MP-10, just saved me from picking up Takara version. Seems all the accessories will be included as well.

Why was Hasbro coy when asked about Dinobots being released to promote/expand FoC? At least with a Grimlock figure, thought that was already confirmed back in Feb? Now, the other 4 might be difficult to get the green light for... = (

Finally, that voyager Soundwave is is an upscaled WFC, but some tweaks (mainly the chest opening to fit up to 3 data discs). New Blaster, anyone?

I believe I remember what you're talking about. Can't recall the exact name either, but the figs were about two inches tall and based on a TRON-like concept of programs fighting viruses inside computers, right? I actually bought the transforming PC/headquarters as a kid.

Sidenote: anyone want to entertain bets on how much of this stuff we'll actually see in stores before Hasbro cancels the lines?

Possibly both; in vehicle mode, he combines with a trailer, but in humanoid mode, he's a straight, classic-white-and-blue repaint of Prime. :lol:

I'd imagine at least a new head mold into something similar to the original Ultra Magnus. At least that.

Hot the heels of their announcement at the BotCon Hasbro panel we now have official images of this year's SDCC exclusives Transformers Prime "Rust in Peace" Zombie Cliffjumper and Special Deco Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Bruticus giftset courtesy of IGN! As usual both items come in special edition packaging. According to the panel, the Cliffjumper set will include a shard of dark energon, a dark energon attachment to wrap around Cliffjumper's bodey, and a box that can turn into a torso for the zombie head to set on. The Bruticus set comes in book style box with the actual figures packaged in a separate removable tray.

Did anyone else notice that Bruticus is stomping on Jazz?! I hope he's not being brought into FOC just to be killed off like Bay did in the first TF movie.

I've really been pleased with the announcements, especially the collector's Bruticus. I've had pretty good luck w/ getting exclusives the past few years. Here's to hoping that continues since I won't be at SDCC. I am worried about the lack of Dinobot discussion though...at least why has there been no mention of FOC Grimlock with all the hype he's getting in the game?!

I hope they flip the image of the completed Bruticus on the inside flap of the box because Blast Off is supposed to be the right arm, not the left arm, Vortex is the left arm, not the right arm, Swindle is the right leg, not the left leg, and Brawl is the left leg, not the right leg. Because you know many of us hardcore Combiner fans will complain about it otherwise.

Anywho...onto the topic at hand...

I'm really let down by a lot of what transpired today. I mean, it wasn't a total washout, but it really kinda sucked. (This is yet another reason why I don't go out of my way to find a way to BotCon.)

On the plus side:
Masterpiece Optimus looks fantastic, and I like the packaging. It's surprising how big they made it, as far as display pieces go.

Prime IS continuing, we know Airachnid and Dreadwing are coming. (YAY!)

On the fail side:
FOC Soundwave is a glorified upsize of the WFC Deluxe mold, with a spring launcher built in. (Oooh whee! Oh joy!)
Soundwave's minions aren't nearly as awesome as I was hoping they'd be. ( =\ I is a sad panda. )
Bruticus (in game colors) retains that gold/copper colored plastic for Blast-Off and Vortex. I do worry that they could be prone to breakage, down the line. In a way, we're kinda lucky the regular release has no gold plastic. We may not have to worry about it breaking, or even have the worry in the back of our minds. (Plus, since it's an exclusive and a limited run, what incentive does Hasbro have to make sure they use the best quality materials to make it? This is clearly a cash grab for them, once they make their dough, what do they care?)
Kickback the Derpic...I mean Insecticon. Egads. That thing is fugly and a total pass for me. (The only way I'll buy him is if they slap the PRID name on his packaging, because it means he's our only Insection toy for that line.)

Plus all the news of "We're gonna try..." (no, you won't lift a damn finger, and you know it!) and no mention of Breakdown, nor a figure of him on display...*sighs*

I don't know why I do this to myself. I don't know why I allow my hopes to get up. You'd think by now I'd have learned to go in with the lowest expectations and at least try to be pleasantly surprised.

I can almost guarantee you it won't. If you look at past exclusives, they usually price higher than their retail counterparts.

Not to mention, they have to cover the cost of the packaging, the different materials used, the smaller run, etc.

If the prices remain where they are ($12.99-$14.99, depending on retailer), we'll pay about $65.00-$75.00 for the set at retail. If the prices go up to $14.99, as mentioned on the display cards, TRU will jack their prices up even higher, which means it'll be a minimum of $75.00 for the set.

I could see SDCC Bruticus being an $80-100.00.

I hope we get images of Generations Soundwave soon - the data discs sound like a neat update. I just hope they have a major G1 aesthetic.

Side note - someone on this thread said they're bringing back the Prime First Editions? Where did that rumor come from?

I really don't understand their logic

a) Bruticus - why make a character based on the game then colour him differently and make the game version exclusive??

b) Dinobots - I realise that Grimlock is popular however the fall of Cybertron design is very similar to the classics design so why make another and threaten with problems to release the other four is beyond me. Especially when figures such as Prime who already have a WFC/FOC figure are getting redone. Especially when year after year people request them.

c) No Arcee - again people request her every year - what is really the problem? She will sell!!!

Just a question for anyone that was there.... does FOC Kickback looking anything close to G1?? Or is it more like the generic FOC Insecticons that we have seen?

Dinobots doesn't surprise me, anyone else read that online article saying Hasbro had written off Dinobots from all things moving forward and they had to be thoroughly convinced by the video game creators just to put them in the game.

I love how the said if Bruticus does well they will think about a Devastator. There is no way I'm buying Bruticus. The combined form is just too hard to get past, they didn't put any time into it at all. Bruticus is not going to get the sales. Kiss Devastator goodbye....

If I remember correctly, it was said that Hasbro's more or less retired them. If that's true, then it's simply a case of they just don't care to make 'em anymore. Or as our British and Australian friends would say: "They can't be arsed to give a damn anymore."

It was said that Arcee is Primeverse only, this year. They have no other plans for her considering she's such a big part of Prime, now.

I hope SDCC Bruticus isn't 'too' exclusive. I really really want one.

You guys can have Cliff, I'm over trying to create his 4 minutes of being a zombie from a single episode from the beginning of a season that's now @season 2. If he were still around on the show, I might care. At this point, the only new Cliff I'm getting is Takara's purple one, and that's just because the car mode looks badass and I'm a sucker for clear purple plastic.

A lot in the lineup for Generations, and Soundwave/Soundblaster sound pretty cool. I guess there are some lines I'll be collecting yet (getting sick of Prime, as I've completely lost interest in the show after seeing season 2 up to this point, so much potential wasted with re-hashed plots/characters from other shows (Animated+Beast Wars+Movie anyone? Hire some real writers Hasbro, please, that show had SO much potential).

These are going to be a great couple years for TFs. I was starting to forget how good it feels to be excited about the hobby. I'm so glad the movie nonsense is over for a couple years.
