Our own shockwaveuk has brought us news that IDW has updated their
Art Du Jour! Section. They updated the section with an image from the upcoming Megatron: Origin #1. Here is what IDW has to say about the image:
"Before allegiance, rank and function—before war—a civilian will become a warrior, a warrior will become a leader. As a leader he will learn of the most powerful weapon on the planet—a weapon powerful enough to bind legions to his will—a faction named DECEPTICON. This landmark story brings the major players of the faction together for the first time in a seminal story for MEGATRON, the DECEPTICONS, and THE GREAT WAR. The Transformers: Megatron: Origin #1 is coming in May!"
Now head over to IDW's
Art Du Jour! Section to check it out now.

Between this and Stormbringer, I think these shall be my top TF comic priorities, both because of budget and lack of interest in otherb projects for the moment.

I still don't think this issue should be made. Dosn't seem right.

Megatron's origin is probably the most intriging origin for the TF's I can think of, lots of potential here. Nevermind why the good guys are good, People want to know why the bad guys do the things they do.

Eh .. I dunno. I've been puzzling the last 2 weeks or better about just how I feel about this one. I will entertain this for it creative merits ...It’s about time afterall, but it’s also oddly bittersweet for me personally because for 22 years now I have relished the fact that the Metatisic saga/trilogy wore this mantle. Even stories like the War Within still did not dabble/go back far enough. So I guess I feel .. a bit stepped on. Intruded upon? Fill in the blank with something and that’s what I feel.
For what it’s worth though I want to get this and see/respect another’s take on it. Afterall, most everyone hear (unless they’re noobs) know about Mets and I have nothing that I feel have to prove. Bring it on.

Yeah, I don't think evil like Megatron needs a back story.

I can't wait to see what they have to say about megatron's origins. I probably won't like aspects on this, but I am sure I will find parts to become "my" canon. With so many new ideas to pic and choose from

I'm interested to know why such a big characters backstory isnt being handled by the #1 writer, I assume Furman would have edited the story so it wouldn't contradict his Furmanverse.
I'll be getting it, it should be very interesting, to see what drives and motivates the IDW Furmanverse Megatron.

My comic book store allows me to order whatever titles I want that are distributed by Diamond. He even holds them for me so there is no chance of missing an issue. And, unbelievably, he gives me a 20% discount.
It was great during the DW stuff, but now that I've been so disappointed by Su and Furman lately, it doesn't mean as much. Still nice, though, when something like this comes along.

I am looking forward to this. I have always been intrigued by Megatron and what his reasoning is for the way he is. In Dreamwave Megatron didn't see himself as evil but rather as the only one whom could provide protection of the universe even if it was through galactic conquest. Megatron has no intention of destroying the universe but to rather remake it in his image something to rule over. It will be interesting to find out why he is the way he is and what his true origions are. So yeah I am looking forward to this issue and to find out how he was able to become one of the most powerfull transformers in existence.
