Yes he is smiling. But thats the problem with ransformers with Mouths. You dont want them to look too mad or grim so sometimes they simply end up with a slight smile.
He looked like that on the show sometimes too:

1. I've been accustomed to TF's with stoic faces, so grim or scowling ones wouldn't really make me take notice and
2. that's Abominus, not Computron ...just sayin

Yes it is indeed, thanks fo the catch. One thing I am wondering is that if the colour on Afterburner is important (which it is), then how are you ok with the green on the Hasbro version? Is it not as big an issue?

And yeah, the green and black on Hasbro's version of Afterburner do kind of disappoint me. It's one step forward with the orange, but two steps back with the two new colors. It makes Afterburner look like he's celebrating Halloween or something.

Wolfman Jake wrote:I'm delighted by these finalized samples of Unite Warriors Afterburner. The earlier solicitations and stock photos had no hint of orange in Afterburner's pallet, but now, he looks like a pretty perfect match/compromise for his G1 cartoon appearance(s). Afterburner looks a lot more red in robot mode, while he looks more orange-red in vehicle mode (sometimes) and in limb mode on Computron. Yes, the G1 toy is more of a solid orange, a la Strafe's guns, but this is Takara we're talking about, so adherence to cartoon accuracy shouldn't surprise anyone by now.

I feel like Afterburner is cursed to get a never-quite-right release. Even third-party versions of him end up missing the mark. Is it that hard to make a closed-canopy orange, white and silver motorbike with an extended front swingarm?

I guess that's a plus, but I'm a lot less bothered by that than by the major differences in the individual bots.

I'm getting both too, and I almost can't get past UW's awesomeness, but I still don't know what I'm doing with THE combiner shelf. I've said I'm tired of the mold reuse and Quantron would remain to represent Compy, but damn... I dunno. Quants might be goin on Kijiji sometime soon.

Can anyone here tell me as estimate of shipping for UW Superion from TFSource to Australia? Also, do they ship internationally. I already emailed them and they could not give me a straight answer.
Even just an esstimate, I mean $20, $50? What kind of ballpark are we talking about here.
I don't know what you think about import sites but AmiAmi still has him available for preorder cheaper than buying from an American site like TFsource. The shipping would also probably be cheaper. That's where I'm putting my preorder and they are a good site so there's not much to worry about. And yes I'm pretty sure TFsource ships internationally but you can't qualify for free shipping. $20 to $50 sounds about right for something of that size. Hope that helps.
I have not looked on that site in a long time. Like before the CW line of toys existed long.
I'll take a look thanks.
EDIT: Orders are "closed" does that mean he it out of stock? This is like HLJ.com all over again.
Oops yeah I had Computron on the brain sorry. Still AmiAmi and the other usual sites are still better than American sites especially if you live outside the US.

Yes it does mean out of stock. I think the person responding before was referring to Computron sicne that is what we were all talking about.
Your best bet is to check this site out once in a while since they get older stuff that they sell at fair market price for non exclusives: http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_i ... e+warriors. Its not avantageous to americans since the shipping is expensive and they are better off getting them locally. But for international buyers, this is like other japanese sites. Check it over once a week, Superion used to appear there pretty often. TFSource will cost you over 74$ USD to ship to australia.
Also, check nippon yassan (another japanese site) if they still have superion.
Thanks, I'll boomark those sites. I check both and nippon yasan had the best price on Superion $140 AU, but with postage it bumps up to around $200 AU, so as much or more than what I can buy it for on ebay. DOH!
I saw a UT Superion in stock at a toys r us local to me and they want $300 AU for it! Get outta town TRU, no way.
Thanks anyhow.

Totally agree... This is one that's not to be missed.
Like Menasor and Bruticus, I almost wish I was getting both versions of Comp.
But there is nothing in the Hasbro version that makes it worth it imo.
Question-- Are the details on Comp's chest plate going to be white-ish, or red-ish as they are in those convention photos??
I'm hoping for the white.

They might have a somewhat iridescent quality, meaning the color changes depending on how the light hits the paint details. That would be pretty cool to pull off on a figure.

edit: I think you could be right... Which would be really freaking cool.
On a side note, I won't be keeping Afterburner's front wheel sticking up in combined mode. I get it kinda matches the height of Strafe's guns, but it just doesn't look right to me.

Well there's two ways to answer that question.
Optimistic Answer: As soon as they figure out beast combiners so maybe within the next few years, along with predaking and piranhacon
Pessimistic Answer: How does the twelfth of never sound. Seriously prime Abominus or its transformers go! repaint are your lot.
Anyway, Nosecone is the highlight of this set for me, everything else I can comfortably go to hasbro for. Non-cartoon accurate colour schemes don't bother me at all but I do recognise an awesome remold when I see one

UW Computron has the new head and retooled torso bits as well as Scattershot robot mode bits, making him look more like the Scattershot I'd like. Rook into Nosecone was a great choice and it is my favorite mold, and it has a massive drill, so I'm excited. Wheeljack into Lightspeed made more sense to me plus he had a new head and everyone has new weapons, which I like. And then with Strafe and Afterburner I am getting 2 new molds with this one, which is exciting considering, save Sky Lynx and Brawl, I haven't got a new mold since Rook/Hot spot/Groove back last September.
Overall, this is the definitive Computron to me. Hasbro is still good for those who want it, but I appreciate the whole extra mile of retooling that Takara took.

I'm seeing 3 different shades: one shade for the head, one for the hands and thighs, and another for the lower legs, body and arms.

But would it still look better if you flipped the wheel 180 in the back and had that nice blue add to the red and white colour pallet? Because I do agree with you that looking at them transformed differently, Hasbro's does look quite good.
Posted by Autobot N on June 14th, 2016 @ 11:57am CDT
I would still prefer the Hasbro version, because of the orange. I don't mind the look of the blue (or the green, for that matter), but I'm going with whichever one has the main color that I like better.william-james88 wrote: But would it still look better if you flipped the wheel 180 in the back and had that nice blue add to the red and white colour pallet?

To add to that question, chances are he'll be a Platinum Edition instead of a Combiner Wars release, which could explain why TakaraTomy hasn't touched him yet (or ever will, aside from a straight re-release a la Platinum Trypticon/Dinosaurer).

I can imagine the fanrage that JelZe was referring to as coming from the Japanese fans due to their preference for cartoon-accuracy. In the case of Hasbro's Liokaiser, it is neither show- nor toy-accurate, so if Japan got it as a USA Edition, they might feel letdown that it didn't get Liokaiser's look as correct as it could have been.D-Maximus_Primal wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:D-Maximus_Primal wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:RiddlerJ wrote:Whatever happened with Liokaiser? Somehow I don't think I had seen either of these... Maybe they were back in a page I missed when I was on vacation. Anyway, these do look awesome!!
Kinda funny, getting these in August (I'm waiting for Brut so I get free shipping from TFSource) makes getting Groove in Oct. seem just a little mehhh. Although I haven't opened my HotSpot yet, so that helps.
