We knew that Hasbro Asia would rerelease Masterpiece Ironhide with a new drill accessory last May and haven't heard of an update since. Well, the Planet Iacon Facebook group has some nice in hand images for us of this new accessory which comes in its own little case. Check out the pictures below!

Fellow Seibertronian Logan has found some nice new images of the upoming drill accessory that comes with the reissue of MP-27 Ironhide. While we knew the drill came in a briefcase, these new images show how Ironhide looks like while hoolding the drill and, better yet, holding the brifcase. Y'know, these are the kind of things I love. One of my favorite things about the G1 toon was the out of nowhere "right tool for every job" doo-dad they could pop out of their hands/forearms. And this drill thingy was one of my favs.

When MP Jazz comes out he better have that grappling hook 8-)

Lena aint gonna help, they only (purposely?) have overstock from toys made in china. So now its only on toys using previous molds before production moved to vietnam that have not moved there yet (for instance, the arcee mold has moved to vietnam). I am really curious where red alert will be made then and if that means lena will have some overstock. I am surprised we havent seen overstock for hasbro's MP bee yet since we know China still has that mold.But then again they have a ton of stuff that they are still trying to get rid of, like a bunch of hoists.

Woo hoo!! That was a quick fix! Never noticed it until I stumbled upon this thread again today. I've had Ironhide since last year and Ratchet since he released.. Weird.

Oh man do I love these guys. Such a fun transformation.

If they intended that to be for Ironhide, it's weird that they didn't make it look like either of those cartoon designs.

Otherwise, if it is supposed to stay with Ratchet, the only Ratchet, cartoon-wise, who pulled up an EKG image on his window chest was Animated Ratchet.

Given the absence of any official confirmation and how the mold pieces of IH are just that, correctly designated as R and L so reversing them (the shoulders) via cosmetic re-engineering will be a waste of effort and that the shoulders of IH is what it is meant to be as Ratchet's is to differentiate them.

So tfwiki gets updated as such with the drill as this reverse shoulders issue is a non issue until further confirmed by Takara

As I mentioned, I've been trying to get an official confirmation if there really is an error. Given that the mold pieces seem to be designated correct with R is to R and L to L. TFYuki never responded to my tweet and no one in seibertron has given a clear response if they see a change at all in IH's shoulders in the second release.

So TFwiki just gets the die-cast drill updated entry.

Intended for Ratchet, but also works well for Ironhide (beyond sharing a mold.)

Chrome corrosion already!

Iirc, only MP-01 and MP-10 had chromed parts (MP-10's grill /pectorals and the stacks). Anyway, my 1st release Ironhide's chrome parts have suddenly been wearing out with black spots everywhere on the chrome. From the front and rear bumpers! Especially the sharp angled parts. :BANG_HEAD:

This despite the fact that I never ever handled those parts with exposed hands. It's like a kept on rubbing on them and they are now black!

Did Takara scrimp and only used a thin layer?Jeez Louise!

I HATE chrome!

Transformed IH without the instructions yesterday! Anyone else find it really satisfying to transform an MP? Like in a sense that it's a challenge and you've accomplished something. :lol:

Regarding chrome, yeah that sucks. If you can't make it stick, Takara, at least use white or grey plastic underneath so it won't be as noticeable when it wears off.
I wonder, can't they make these parts out of stainless steel? Or would that be too expansive?

btw, did either of you try to seal the chrome parts before they started to flake off?

I did try. Applying nail polish on my iPod Optimus Prime G1 colors. The discoloration still happened on his smoke stacks and front grill.
