Both the Ultra Magnus and the Skyfire are excellent, and I believe the Prowl is pretty good too. do these have the same tranformation scheme as the original versions? And does anyone have comparison shots of the previous series with their true life counterparts?

I would say this is similar to scout size. Definitely bigger than legend class but smaller than deluxe class

Well, they're more small half-transforming model kits than actual TFs. I'm pretty happy with my Star Saber, he lives with my WSTs. As will Ultra Magnus, if the cab ends up a similar size.

It's funny the box shows UMagnus chest more like the cartoon but the standalone picture has him like the Titanium line. This including the black gun as well. From the pic, it seems they made improvement in the shoulder. It doesn't position too far out toward the rear in contrast to the Titanium.

That Magnus looks awesome. Must get.

I have 2 questions regareding this set.
1) Are they pre-painted as you usually have to paint the other kits?
2) Is that Prowl scout size? Because if he is, he may have just become my favourite TF. Only problem then will be I'll have to get 5 of them so the others can be repainted as Bluestreak, Smokescreen, Streetstar (Streetwise) and Rapido. Maybe Barricade too.

1) I believe they come with sticker sheets, and based on the review I watched, dude said they don't stick for s**t.
2) Again, based on the review of a couple of the first round of these figs, it's highly unlikely these are capable of being anyone's fave TF figs. The quality looks half-arsed (they're figs from a candy box for cripes sake) and they're not honest to goodness TF figs. They sort of transform by removing parts and putting them back together, but it's not seamless. I'm sure a lot of people can appreciate them for what they are, but you probably shouldn't buy these with the expectation you're getting an awesome "action figure".
*Here's the review I speak of...this should give you an idea of what to expect from these things:

**Re-reading the part of the quote I snipped, you're somewhat familiar with these things so maybe you will dig 'em to no end...

My only problem is having to paint them but otherwise I love them. Highbrow and Brainstorm are also Actionmaster size and when repainted, look great against Snapdragon's dinosaur mode or the towering Scorponok.
I'd love to get Hardhead, Weirdwolf and the rest in the same scale.
Like I said, they're exactly like the originals only smaller so if Classics Prowl is as faithful as the G1's I have, he really would be nicely articulated and I'd love him as a Basic/Scout because I think Deluxe is too big for the cars especially when the Seekers are the same size.
Appreciate the link btw. Thanks.

These are from Japan where people have more common sense so they probably don't have such laws.

What line or wave does it belong to? Obviously, it doesn't transform and you have to paint him.

Oh yeah, I remember that hard-ass gum. The gum crumbled like broken glass on the first bite, lol.
Could someone explain exactly what these are? You get a Scout-type TF when you buy a whole box of gum? Please forgive my ignorance on this one...

Yep, check out Samsonator's thread wherein he builds G1 and Classics/Henkei Convoy.
zfeakye did a pretty sweet Henkei Convoy too.
