Well if that counts as Transformers winning an Oscar, someone's gotta eat their collection!

I'm never really a Negative Nancy about things, but I was grossly disappointed with the overall Sound Editing in the movie. Their misuse of(or TOTAL lack of) the Transformation sound effect seriously disappointed me to no end. The Voices lacked the characteristic 'Robot speech' effect that normally accompanies creatures that synthesize their voices through artificial means. Both of these items are relative contrivances of course, and there were some cool sound effects(mostly at the very beginning of the movie), but overall Transformers leaves SO MUCH room for awesome sound effects, and this was just not up to par. I'll admit they gave it a good shot, but but the whole Transformers Sound experience was still left a bit wanting for me.
Now, Jablonsky's Score is another story...

I'm still ticked that Steve Jablonsky's score didn't get nominated. For pete's sake, EVERYONE is using the soundtrack now...NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, the major networks...it's just insane. I haven't seen a soundtrack go mainstream (orchestral soundtrack) since John Williams' biggest scores...

wow this must be a big deal, the radio mentioned his story earlier today. apparently at the last oscars he left soon as his category was up cuz his mom was sick and she died like 90mins after he arrived. and she's responsible for him being in the business and her dream was for him to win an oscar and thank her in front of the world.
is he canadian? cuz i'm in ottawa, canada ...i found it odd that the radio would mention this, especially like shortly after i read this article here.....eerie
