Fellow Seibertronians, courtesy of fellow user Mindmaster, via zmultiplier on Weibo, we get our first look at the upcoming Titans Return Alpha Trion, although it has already been teased, this is our first clear look at what appears to be half of the box art for the upcoming Voyager Class Alpha Trion figure. Alpha Trion can be seen sporting a lion head as a pauldron, which would seem to confirm that he does at least have a lion mode.

I don't tend to look at it as it is very slow to be updated and so isn't a fast news source. beside the inability to comment on it and the patchy way it's linked to threads means it's just easier to skip it.

'No offence' intended to anyone spending time on editing it - but to me there is nothing there worth looking at - No need to look at galleries when I prefer videos and they are so hard to navigate anyway. since that seems the main focus of the page I simply have no reason to look except very infrequently and when I do look it's usually barely changed so sort of reinforcing the point that there is often nothing new to look at.

Besides lets be honest if you want up to date Transformers news you'd use Twitter or TFW2005 that is where a lot of the stuff on this place or Allspark comes from anyway.

Again no offence intended, and to make up for it I will say I prefer Seibertron's Show & Event coverage to TFW's and have always looked at that even before I had an posting account.

But the way the scrolling works the images don't always show in a place you see them as they are above or below the typing box.

Look like the grey image is similar to the blue fuzzy mess from the other day - so with both you get some of the detail and the colour at the same time.

Perhaps someone can make the colour one a transparency layer and over lay it on the grey scale image ?

I understand and I thank you for the thought - I wasn't trying to sound aggressive - I was just trying to point out that I wasn't completely mad and posting a repeated image of Alpha Trion for no reason is all and I was mainly mention it just to commment on the return of the Jigsaw Puzzle game again.

As well as to show Soundwave (possibly the first picture of a plastic version) rather than a CGI render.

They are getting pretty good at those CGI renders now - the way they did the glass on the cassette deck is really convincing. it's only things like the screws that give it away.

I'm still not 100% sure the base mode and the top robot image even are CGI I can't see anything to tell either way - I'm guess they are as the head is for sure.

But out of that context I'm unsure.. I'm guessing CGI but that is just a guess.

Opinions ?

Are these images here real objects or CGI ?

How so? He is shown as being a dragon/griffin centaur thing, what does he look like now that he resembles this :shock:

I know you don't read the current comics so here's a real quick thing: Nexus and Onyx Prime were allies, and Nexus used his enigma of combination to create the original headmasters using Onyx's troops. I'm wondering if they could work in this version of Onyx into TR considering that storyline

Those are likely renders using the 3d model used for designing him, likely given a skeleton and posed, then the take a high res render of it; it's likely that all photo's are thus created, and some are photo-shopped where needed (botcon, super early releases/teases).

I recently picked up the Prime Thundertron and there's no mistaking that sword blade. I kinda hope it's not the scurvy dog himself though, since I like the Prime version well enough already. Maybe it's just a reuse of a really awesome weapon mold part that not many have had a chance to acquire. The mech tech thing was a bummer but the blade itself is really rad. Guessing they repurposed it with a proper handle.

And you can see animal legs on his legs and waist. So it's most likely that he has a beast mode. But that head on his shoulder could also be a wolf head I think. :-?

I just hope his third mode is a vehicle mode. Would love to see that.

Well the rumours were that he'd be a lion, spaceship and a robot (fitting in with the whole all voyagers being triple changers thing).

But I am liking what I see.

Funny thought: by putting beast modes on some of the toys, that is hasbro honouring beast wars :-P

Or another certain remold of a Japanese character. I guess Hasbro really likes Victory since he and Liokaiser both come from there. Maybe Victory Leo isn't so unlikely.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees a wolf head. I know people are saying lion, but just how credible are our sources? Have they actually seen the lion mode or are they just assuming it'll be a lion since Hasbro did that one Alpha Trion prototype from BM Snarl and Alpha Trizer (a different character all together) from Thundertron. Then again Thundertron doesn't look like a Lion to me either so who knows?

I agree with this whole-heartedly. I started collecting TFs when Transformers news wasn't as easy to come by during RID and sometimes popping into the store and finding the two-packs that were a surprise was always awesome.

My friend Steve doesn't really collect toys any more, but he has about 50 times the fun going into TRU than I do because he never reads the news.

It's definitely a lion head, the ears are too small for a wolf and there looks to be a lot of detail on the mane which also rules out tiger hawk (sorry memphis!)

As for getting a Victory Saber out of it or even just Victory Leo. ...I'll pass as I wou like doing rather have one that can combine with star saber >:oP

I don't know why but I must have blocked that from my mind judging by the rough paint on the shoulder this is a hand painted sample though.

I would have preferred they leave the beast alternate mode to Onyx Prime, and give Alpha Trion something else more fitted to his role as the observer/recorder. Maybe some sort of space telescope? Something more scholarly.

That's what i was thinking! had it not been for the fact that he's a Voyager figure! now if he were Deluxe....he may've formed an arm of a Gestalt, which WOULD'VE made him more like Liobreaker. & YES! i know! this is a Titans Return figure....and not a Combiner Wars one. but....one can dream, can't he

I agree Alpha could have been triple changing into something more scholarly, but at the same time a beast mode still isn't bad. gives him potential reuse value yes, taking away from his uniqueness, but after the Alpha Trizer story, it works as a nice homage there.

How do we know this image is alpha trion? You cant see the face. I dont see a beard. Im more inclined to believe this is a lio convoy mold. While anythings possible, I dont believe Hasbro would go for an Alpha Trizer when botcon did one very recently. Its just way too obscure for hasbro. And it wouldnt be the "official" transforming alpha trion fans wanted anyways. Im happy with my botcon and 3rd party alpha trions anyway.

Owl would have been cool yes. And the wings could have made for good spaceship mode wings. As it stands, I'd like to see how a spaceship mode will come from this guy. could prove interesting
